I was surprised to learn that Black Widow spiders can also be brown, but possibly that only happens in places other than the US.  It was also interesting to learn that climate change has got them moving into more northern areas as well.

Reminds me of the neighbor just down the street from me that put a big spider on the side of a utility pole.

Clown spiders, scientifically known as Theridion grallator, are real spiders, not fictitious creatures. They are also sometimes called "smiley-faced spiders" because some individuals have patterns on their abdomens that resemble a grin. These spiders are found in Hawaii and are about 5mm long.
