Hello, I'm looking for a story & author I read a few years ago but I cannot remember either name...

I remember that (at the time) he'd written like 5-10 novels and short stories and had his own website as well as listing them on others.

 

Anyway, the story I can remember (somewhat) has an MC who's in college at UC Berkeley (I'm pretty sure). I don't remember HIS name unfortunately but he was described as looking like that guy from Star Wars (Luke Skywalker). 

He has a best friend who's name (I'm pretty sure) was Derek, who was described as being quite insecure but shouldn't be because he's beautiful of Greek descent.

Anyway, the first chapter starts with Derek pushing him into going to this gay pool party thrown by these rich older gay men who live in a rich area near by, he says he's only been to these parties 2 or 3 times as it isn't really his thing, it's basically a bunch of older wealthy gay mean from the Berkeley San Fransisco Bay area and then a bunch of college kids invited basically to be eye candy for the older pervs - And when he does go (always at Derek's insistence) he usually just gets straight in the pool to swim for a while as he loves swimming and then leaves (to the point that when he arrives this time the hosts awkwardly mention that it would be nice for him to socialise a bit this time...

Anyway, this time he's particularly reluctant to go as apparently some high schooners have been invited this time which makes him uncomfortable though Derek insists they're going to be 18 year olds.

So they get to the part, he talks to the hosts and socialises for the bare minimum and gets in the pool for a swim... then when in the pool he meets the love interest; Cole (I'm pretty sure... sorry, I'm TERRIBLE with names).

Cole is a high schooler for which reason he's reluctant to hook up with him but in the end they do have a somewhat graphic, fairly public sex scene.

Then the next day, Cole contacts him and purues him fairly aggressively (not to the point of ignoring boundaries or being TOO aggressive though... He's reluctant to enter I to a relationship with him due to the legality age wise (I think there's like a 3 year difference, so would be illegal until he's 18, and also because he usually prefers older guys (just like Cole does) and finally because he was burned somewhat badly in his last relationship, not to the point of abusive or anything, just typical older male in a relationship with someone several years younger manipulation, assholery, etc, so A) He's a bit gun shy about entering a new relationship, especially with someone so confident and He doesn't want to be that older manipulative asshole like his ex... 

As it turns out later, Cole was also fucked over in a relationship with an older asshole - basically, he was like 15 or 16, maybe even 14, he thought they were so in love, but his ex (over 18, like 18-25) turned out to have been cheating in him the whole time... Cole freaks out thinking he'll have Herpes or HIV or something and due to being hurt, scared and distraught, he can't hide it from his mum that something wrong, so eventually he breaks down and tells her, she takes him to get tested and tells him he can't be with older guys like that, that he's too young and will be used again.

So that obviously leads to drama down the line.

 

Anyway, Cole has a best friend called Trevor (I think. Also, there was a sequel book about him, him meeting someone and starting a relationship and his life in general). They're somewhat sexually active with each other when neither has a boyfriend amd he gets Trevor to take naked photos of him that he sends to the MC . Trevor also has a problematic home life and is somewhat in love with Cole, though he is still supportive of Coles relationship with MC; he doeq11111111sn't do any petty teen sabotage drama which I appreciated! It's just that it's makes his depressed state and hard life somewhat worse/even harder.

It has a little too much graphic sex for me, but still, it isn't TOO much; it isn't pen with a plot. And I seem to remember both the story and writing being pretty decent.

Also, I could easily be wrong, but I feel like the authors name or pen name started with either an A, a C or a D. Though again, could be COMPLETELY wrong on that count. 

 

Anyway, that's about all I can remember (I'm sorry this is so damn long!), I've tried Googling a bunch of different things, but I can't find it

Does anyone have any idea who/what I'm talking about? If so, please, PLEASE can you let me know the name of the author, story, or both?
