THE FLOWERS

 

 

When the days grow long,

when the night goes away,

THE FLOWERS.

 

The flowers are there when you want them, need them.

How can you go wrong with flowers?

Flowers help you ascertain a mood in which nothing else can.

 

Today and tomorrow the flowers are there,

they always have been.

 

They always have been considered the patriarch of happy endings and fairy tales.

Tis a flower in which people show Cupid's quest.

 

Flowers capture a moment in time forever, never to be lost.

They keep the beast of others inside,

and show the beast in us.

Not sure all of it works for me, but I like the opening stanza and the last two verses a lot. I really hope to see more poetry from this author.

I like the concept that when all else goes awry we still have "The Flowers" to fall back on. It's an interesting thought, one I'll try to bear in mind the next time something goes wrong.
