    Chapter 22

I think people are far too eager to see Will paired off. In my grandparents generation (time between WWI and WWII), getting married right out of high school was the norm. In my parents generation, the post WWII Baby Boom and College Boom (many more people going to college), meeting your soulmate in college was common. It was so common that the standing joke was that instead of a B.A. degree, girls were going to college for an Mrs. degree. I didn't meet my husband until I was 28 and our adopted son just turned 30 and isn't serious with anyone. At $560k, a house is cheaper than a new top of the line Ferrari or Bentley. If you have a liquid $1 billion invested, even at a modest rate of return, you are generating $3-4 million a month, or over $100,000 each and everyday. You need ways to dispose of that money. Buying a car for someone when you are a billionaire is like giving someone a stick of gum. See comments above on finding a soulmate. I don't find Will to be exploiting Johnny in anyway and he is certainly not doing it to protect Patrick. In my view, Will is doing it primarily to help Johnny, who he feels a kinship with, and secondarily to Stick It To The Man, in this case Johnny's uncles. We have seen Will doesn't like bullies (even if he has a hard time seeing his own bullying behavior sometimes) and if he can intervene to fuck with them, he will. Patrick is not off the hook by any means, and I suspect if he agrees to Will's arbitration idea (and I am sure Mr. Arbour will convince Patrick to do that) we will see a classic dressing down from JP and Stef, each bringing their own unique perspective.

    Chapter 21

We got both sides of the story and Johnny's version sounds a lot more likely. Patrick left out details that would have made him look bad. But what the actual truth is in this case would not matter. Even if Johnny had consented 100%, begged Patrick to drill him, Patrick still would not have an affirmative defense in NY State. If Patrick is over 21, it would be a Class B felony, which carries stiff penalties. I think Will is responding to Johnny's general distress. Johnny is clearly scarred, either by his time with Patrick, or by the cumulative pressures of his industry and looks. The casting couch is as alive in the modeling world as it is in Hollywood; throw in the high use of drugs in the modeling world and it quickly becomes a minefield for young adults. I assume you mean about being on time for assignments, not the sex/casting couch to get ahead aspects and expectations. This is all well before the #MeToo movement so an awful lot of people got away with an awful lot of misconduct in those days, even criminal behavior. Yes, in 2004 it would have killed Johnny's modeling career, but there may have been opportunities in acting, especially in NY in Soaps. It also might have killed Patrick's career too. It is a recurring theme with powerful people (movies, modeling, money) that they come to believe their doo doo doesn't have an aroma to it and they can get away with whatever they want and it only gets worse as they get away with more and more. Hopefully this works out and Patrick learns something and Johnny does too. Maybe in 2004 the aggressor (I hate to use the word predator for a single, known incident) could ruin someone's career, but now, the aggressor has little credibility once their reputation is shredded. I know a man who was swept up in the zeitgeist of the #MeToo movement. There was lots of talk of him preying on young talent, but no one ever sued him, the police investigated and never found any actual misconduct. That didn't stop his biggest clients from firing him and didn't stop his agency from then giving him the boot too. He could not have done anything to harm anyone's career in Hollywood since the mere rumors made him a pariah.

    Chapter 18

Oh please, with Will it is Mr. Right Now, Mr. A Little Later and Mr. Okay Just One More. I think the reason was offered partly in the chapter. The gay community is a mass of contradictions and soft bigotries. I remember the days of having a profile on Gay.com, PlanetOut, etc, and having heated discussions with people about guys who put "straight acting" in their profiles either to describe themselves or in what they wanted. It was a serious slap to the ones like Stef who could not/would not hide who they were. It was not the "straight acting" guys who rioted at the Stonewall Inn, it was the queens and drag queens who were mad as hell and not going to take it anymore. It was the flamers who pushed the envelope those early days and took the abuse to advance rights for everyone.

    Chapter 17

I checked my cheat sheet and I can't see Juan, the stable boy, on Will's hook up list. That can't be right can it? The young master hooking up with a stable boy or an upstairs maid is a staple of English literature.

    Chapter 16

I'm guessing you don't know many U.S. Navy fighter pilots 😄 If you cut out all the juvenile pranks they pull, there'd be no pranks at all 😁

    Chapter 15

I think Will and Connie come from such different worlds that it would never work. And no, Connie isn't in love with Will. He might think he is, he might feel he is, but you don't actually love someone in a matter of weeks, it takes months and years and testing by trials. I've made several suggestions to Mr. Arbour.... a runaway bus, an unseen mine shaft in the dark, a hungry tiger shark.... but he never seems to use my ideas. I think Will fucking security guards and shop clerks is a sign of his immaturity and not having enough respect for Stef to call him and not take his call something much worse than immaturity. Did I mention sharks with laser beams yet?

    Chapter 14

Well aren't you the nosy one? Will is growing up? Having sex in shop dressing rooms? The difference is, most 17 years olds might have had a couple of instances of intercourse by 17, not 40, like Will.

    Chapter 1

    Gawd I love hindsight!

    Chapter 13

Yeah, it is funny, I think of Stef as having been with JP forever, but in going through the CAP Timeline to refresh my mind on so many characters, I was going, 'oh yeah, Stef was with him, and then him, and then them....' Didn't Stef even sleep with a grandson or nephew accidentally (unknown relationship at the time)? He took a long time finding his way back to JP.

    Chapter 13

“In different circumstances, it would be easy to fall in love with you,” he said. That actually did make me tear up a bit. “Then you know exactly how I feel about you,” I told him. Oh crap, someone give me a shot of of insulin quick, that cloying sweetness is spiking my blood sugar! Will is more interesting when he is pissed off and being an ass.

    Chapter 11

I don't recall the beam or draught of Tonto, but if it is much over 40m, I doubt it could get through the channel at Hayman Island or be able to dock. Are the dates on CAP Book 1 accurate? Or did they change on a website format change? I went back and reread the Timeline and Playbill; so many characters I've forgotten and forgotten who is related to whom by blood, what with all the affairs and what not. Reminds me of that old Dr. Demento song, "I'm My Own Grandpa".

    Chapter 9

It would be in Missouri.... but a little less so in Rarotonga.... and who's to know if you actually are 😉
  13. PrivateTim

    Chapter 10

Uh well if they didn't his death wouldn't be nearly as interesting or creating any drama. Duh 😏 OMG Will had an easy childhood compared to 99.9999999999% of the children on the planet. I am not impressed by the suffering of the elite.

    Chapter 9

I guess it depends on if you mean the having Strider beat up or slicing him up in front of the Godfather and head coach. This is the first time I've liked Will in about five stories. He used his power, influence and brains to bury Strider and the assistant coach; neither may be a Rooster much longer. I had a friend in college who came from old, old, copious amounts of money. He works for the government of the Cook Islands now counting clownfish, or some such thing. He dives in the reefs almost every day and surfs Rarotonga every day he is home.
  15. PrivateTim

    Chapter 8

I think they knew Strider was an asshole, but I doubt anyone thought he'd sucker punch Will. I think it is too easy to forget we are reading fiction, not a biography. If Will didn't fall for guys he couldn't have, these stories would be three chapters long. You need the drama to move the story forward and keep it interesting. It depends on what you consider elite and how many sports you are talking about. I have no doubt the American NBA is rife with it and the NFL to a slightly lesser degree, but I've seldom seen it at the Olympic level of the sports I am involved in. Elite isn't always professional.

    Chapter 7

I'm sorry, is it just me, but is Will not a complete asshole? “So that makes your personal life my business, because....." No, there is no 'because'. You don't own him, even though you think you do, and someone as smart as you are purported to be, seeing Connie's reaction, would figure out it is gay drama and not dredge it up in front of a fourth person when Connie is trying to limit his exposure. Randy could have quietly been dismissed with a few quiet words between Will and Cecil... No drama, no 'I'm rich and pretentious' bullshit especially from a punk 17 year old. Mr. Arbor, I do admire your skill at creating such a loathsome lout that can get me so mad. Bravo. 😲😁

    Chapter 6

The age of consent for homosexuals changed from 18 to 16 in 2003. Australia, like many places had different standards for breeders and homos. The age of consent in NSW was 12 years old in 1880. That was raised to 16 in 1900, but legal homosexual contact wasn't even contemplated at that time. In NSW, homosexual sex between men was punishable by life in prison until 1924, and in Victoria sodomy was punishable by death until as late as 1949. I wonder if Will has learned anything about not flashing cash, not letting people know you are staying in a suite at the Four Seasons, and not paying in a club with an Amex Platinum Card. A platinum card is fine for impressing shop clerks, but in a club you have a vanilla Mastercard or Visa. My question on age is, what did 17 year old Will have to do to be admitted to Australia? I am not sure Australian immigration would be impressed by emancipation papers. You have to be 18 or have consent waivers to enter Australia as a minor.

    Chapter 5

I hope a damn bus hits him or he gets eaten by a man in a gray suit at Bondi. The first few chapters belie any notion that Will isn't easily the most selfish person in CAP. It isn't just racism, it is size-ism, age-ism, able-ism, just about any other ism you can think of. A community that claims to embrace diversity means diversity as long as you are just like us, dress the same hate the same people, make fun of the fat guys and old guys like we do. Oh and NEVER tell them you are bi-sexual.

    Chapter 4

No indoor swimming pool onsite at the Sofitel.... The pool at the Langham is too short, one kick turn, two strokes and you are at the next turn.

    Chapter 4

Will wants to be his own person but is buying illegal drugs in a foreign country he has been in less than 12 hours with a douche he'd known less than 20 minutes. I prefer the Park Hyatt in Syd, and Melbourne, for that matter. Will is pissed at Kai because he thinks he is clingy and won't fit in his world, because they are moving in different directions and he is pissed at Zach because he thinks Will is clingy and won't fit in his world, because they are moving in different directions. Hmmmm.
  21. PrivateTim

    Chapter 1

Do you mean is Will going to fuck Kai while he is on Maui (or get fucked?), I'd bet on it, it is Will after all. If you bump into Will, don't drop your keys, it is Will after all. As to Pe'ahi, it only goes off every so often and it is basically a tow-in spot and not a place people casually drop into. You have to be a local or a known Big Wave rider.

    Prologue

Will has never worked at relationship. He has always been more interested in indulging himself than finding that person to share his life with. Will is always looking for the next fuck, not looking for quality people to date and grow into a relationship with. Ah poor, poor Will, the boy who thinks he can have anything he wants. If he truly loved Zach, he'd be happy for Zach and if he was as smart as so many give him credit for being, he would have known that this path was inevitable for Zach. Zach loves football and in 2003, football is a straight man's world. Something was going to have to give. A smart person would have moved on and found someone who would commit to him. Zach is the selfish one compared with Will? And why does it have to be, "he thinks he is into girls"? Why do gay men have such a hard time accepting a) that bisexuality is a real thing and b) your sexual orientation classification is entirely up to you and no one has the right to challenge it.
  23. I have to dig back very far and very deep to remember a time when I like Will. He is just a fucked up rich kid, arrogant asshole who thinks the universe revolves around him. It is too bad his family let him reach this state. I am surprised JP let Will be so rude to a guest. There is a time and place for challenging people, but good manners and graces say it isn't at Sunday Family Dinner. I may start an alternative Fan Fiction on Will Schluter and see that his affluenza bites off big chunks of his ass.
  24. I completely disagree. I think John was completely justified in his reaction; I would have thought a lot less of him if he just accepted it. As I remember, John comes from a Lower Middle Class family. There is a lot of pride in his community and they are used to getting things by hard work, not 'charity'. JJ is in essence saying, 'you can't even provide decent housing for yourself'; that is a stinging humiliation. JJ, instead of being a little bitch (yeah, I know, impossible for him) should have calmly talked to John and shown him the logic of JJ's thinking. John is a generous guy, so if JJ had explained by asking John if he'd give someone he loved $20 because they really needed it, then JJ could have explained how buying him a car and house was no different than John giving someone $20, given JJ's vast access to money. Don't say that, Arbor will kill off Carullo for sure then.
