Pared down feelings of the 90's? The 90's were the roaring 20's all over again. The excesses (Tyco, Enron, Adelphia, Qwest, Global Crossings/WorldCom, etc) happened in the 90's. The Dot.com explosion was in the 90's. It wasn't until the recession of 2001 and the market collapse following 9-11 that a lot of these things were exposed. The convictions happened in the 2000's, but the crimes occurred in the 90's.

That is NOTHING! I have been waiting 10 years to find out what happens when Nelson meets a painter!

No offense, but CA isn't an itty bitty state like DL. CA is a water polo state, s swimming state, a rodeo state, a snowboarding state, a mountain bike state and on and on and on. The state is huge and diverse there is no pigeon holing it in any one category. I will say that it isn't like areas like Philadelphia or Buffalo or Green Bay where people get wrapped around the axle over pro-sports teams in general.

Why would you feel bad for St. Louis? They stole the franchise from the Los Angeles area. The Rams were not actually in Los Angeles when they left, they were in Orange County and under control of the much hated Georgia Irwin Geiger Johnson Hayes Wyler Rosenbloom Frontiere (yes, Carroll Rosenbloom, the owner of the LA Rams was her SIXTH husband). Georgia was booed so vociferously at Rams games she stopped attending. The Rams were much beloved and very successful under Rosenbloom and mostly under his son Steve, who was running the team at the time of the elder Rosenbloom suspicious drowning. (Cubans, the Mob, CIA and gambling interests are the ones blamed in the better conspiracy theories). The first thing mommie dearest did was fire Carroll's son Steve and take over the business she had never had any involvement in. So no, no one in LA was sorry to see them leave.

JJ was molested by an older man (well not old compared to Arbour of course ), but will JJ fall for Buzz? Where do Will and Zach go from here? Is football waning in Zach's interest? He doesn't seem to have the same drive he once did to be an NFL player. I would preemptively strike Elizabeth with maybe some of her shady financial dealings, backstory whisperings about how she imprisoned Nana and arranged her own daughter's assault. There is a lot of intrigue that could go on.

Woo hoo, back to the future.... or is that back to the back for the future? Whatever, I am ready for a nasty, knock down drag out drama, Perhaps Mommy Dearest will have a horrible, disfiguring accident, which will be worse than dying.

When you travel as much as I do three capital letter other than something like SOL screams airport code and you quickly learn the codes, especially the weird ones that seem to make no sense like the code for Orchard Field Airport (ORD). You'd get shived Alexandria for suggesting that they are not "that Southern" or even worse, not real Virginians. A nurse draws blood and the in house lab processes it for whatever time the doctor orders the draw and test.

So Lizzie is going to try and bring up Brad's past? I thought there was an equal amount of dirt on her? Maybe it is time for mommy dearest to swim with the fishies.... And pretty sure "starvatious" isn't a word.

So I am completely lost..... We are pretty sure Zach went to VA, we just don't know why..... I am thinking Elizabeth had Trevor and Zach beat up and she lured Zach back to VA and is threatening him again somehow. Trevor was beat up for being weak. Maybe Wade decided it is time to off mommie dearest.

Hopefully Paul Fernandez is being introduced for a reason... maybe to save Darius in Afghanistan?

Hunh..... what do you suppose Zach was doing in Charlottesville, VA? Of course the flight wouldn't have gone from CHO to LAX since no way are there direct flights.... it would have hubbed through BNA or ATL or someplace like that, but I get the point. Happy Thanksgiving Arbour..... take the next few days off

To quote Dr. Fronkensteen from Young Frankenstein, "alive! It's alive!" Good to see an update. As to The Harker School.... ones shudders. Boy's Water Polo can't even beat Milpitas and there is no Boy's Lacrosse team? Who would send a child top such a barbaric place? Sacred Heart would be so much better. Have you even seen a finer looking bunch??

Has anyone checked his front porch? Are there newspapers and milk bottles stacked out front? Maybe he lost it and now he's in that Tibetan monestary with Dom Luka on the mountain top with no scribes???

I really enjoyed this chapter and enjoyed the continuing development in the JJ character. I've always liked JJ and hope he continues as a narrator in future books. It is nice seeing a Schluter who can flirt with either sex. I can't tell where this is heading, but I'm going to predict that Buzz is a mole for Mommie Dearest

Fun chapter, but I hope it is a beginning of many more salvos to be fired Elizabeth's way. Aren't there pics of her and a black man some place? That would set the Tidewaters a hummin'.

I am sedriously hoping we are just at the beginning of Operation Get Ahead after we finish Operation Get Even.

It isn't up to JJ to "drop charges" unless he claims to have lied, then he opens himself to liability both criminally and civilly. A more likely outcome is a lesser charge, a misdemeanor not requiring registration and a quiet dispensation; no time and unsupervised probation. There is no way anyone could have set up a drug test that fast and that isn't how drug testing works in NCAA institutions. The actual programs (football, volleyball, etc) have zero input into when they occur.

Great chapter. I've always been a JJ fan and I like him more and more. I hope we get to see more of him in subsequent books.

How fun was that..... I don't the AOC in the various places JJ & ME 'did it', but how beautiful is the allegation that her husband's alleged lover was really hers.

If Arbour would willing to throw in a zombie, an emotive teen vampire and a couple of car chases using the expensive cars I think I could get him a development deal.....

Thanks for the quick turn. Lots of stuff starting to solidify. At this point I think it is time for Brad to reappear and use some of his shady contacts to get to Julius. A guy like Julius isn't smart enough to be discrete in spending his new found income stream. Maybe they substituted different blood for mine. PS they do urine tests for drug tests, not blood tests
