Taco Bell has never, ever been good. Of the chains Del Taco was okay, Naugles was too. Then came the fresh taco places like La Salsa, Sharkey's and Baja Fresh followed by the fish taco places, Rubios and Wahoo's, then Chipotle. The best are always the hole-in-the-wall one offs. The are very small local chains like King Taco and then the taco trucks. Dunkin Donuts was in CA, but Winchell's was dominant. Then CA went on a health kick and donuts were out. Winchell's & Dunkin' completely disappeared and donut shops became individually owned shops by Vietnamese & Chinese immigrants. Maybe 15 years ago Krispy Kreme came to CA and nothing is as good as Krispy Kreme, especially when they are hot. Hawthorne Mall went away because it couldn't compete with Del Amo and South Bay Galleria. It wasn't the collapse of the middle class, it was the growing affluence of the South Bay that doomed Hawthorne. Who wanted to go to JC Penny & Montgomery Ward? You want to explore fascinating So Cal past.... explore Pacific Ocean Park, Marineland, Busch Gardens and the Z-boys.

Jude is adorable and so is Connor. Both actors are really capturing that hesitant, shy, uncertainy that accomanies something so new. The spring finale was tonight and just when you think things are getting resolved........ It looks like there may be some kind of future for Jude & Connor though as Connor's father relented. I figured Methodwriter would be all over this series since the "gay kid" from Dawson's Creek is in this series playing Jude's father.

Funny, I was thinkin' a good slammin' is precisely what Arbor needs to get his head screwed on. (Or was it a good screwin' to get his head slammed on??)

Adorable kiss tonight between Jude (Hayden Byerly) and Connor (Gavin MacIntosh). Super job of acting by both teens, a nice mix of awe, wonder, surprise and tenderness. They haven't decided if either character is gay yet, but it does portray so well that overwhelming affection you can have for another boy at that age and you walk through the hormone minefield.

If you click on "pinky touch" in my original post, the Slate article has the full scene with the pinky touch. It is the cutest gay teen scene on TV since Ugly Betty where Mark Indelicato asked that boy to dance at his Mom's wedding.

Have you tried Craig's List "missed connections" in the UK? Would that be too obvious (assuming he even saw it)? If you are in the locker room at the same time (ending workouts), would asking if he wanted get a pint be too weird? I assume straight buds in the UK do fluid replacement after the gym.

That is pretty accurate except for number #4. I actually really like JJ, especially the pre-skating JJ. If Will ended up with some hot Navy pilot, I think Alistair would be good for JJ as well. I think Alistair is the kind of common sense, no nonsense, good guy you want your son to bring home. I think Alistair would ground JJ and let him move on from diva time because I am not sure JJ even enjoys being a diva.

If I have to step in and take over writing...... you KNOW who is dying in the next chapter in a horrible, drowning, meteor strike, flaming car accident, plane crash.

Does anyone watch The Foster's? A story about lesbian moms (Stef & Lena Foster) with a blended family of natural kids, fosters and adopted. A couple of weeks ago was the hot "pinky touch", next week, Connor and Jude move things along..... This show is one of the most interesting dramas involving gay issues and families. If you aren't busy next Monday at 8PM....... check it out on ABC Family.
