Hi folks. Haven't been here for awhile. I think it's been three or more years already. I've been away from reading (and writing) gay fiction for just as long. But I'd like some help looking for an old story if you guys can help out. I don't remember the title. But I do remember a little bit of the ending. The male protagonist (teen I think) had a younger brother who fell out from a tree. He got injured and it was discovered when he was brought to the hospital that he had a sickness that would eventually take his life. The younger brother asked his older brother to be there when he would die because he didn't want to be alone and the older brother promised to do so. But the adults in the story didn't let him fulfill that wish. The younger brother was a favorite of the father and sort of blamed the older brother for the younger brother's death. I'm not sure if that's enough to go on. I don't even really know why I want to re-read the story. But, I'm going through a really tough time right now and for whatever reason, a memory of this story came back to me. Any help would be appreciated.

I really like stories that take stuff from everyday places or things and put a twist in it as if they weren't just ordinary. That's why I would say that the Percy Jackson series is my favorite series (particularly since I like mythology too). I think Riordan did a great job with it (although I sometimes wish it wasn't as "kiddie" as it sometimes was). That's why I'm liking the second series even more (Heroes of Olympus) cause at least the characters are older. However, I would say my favorite book of all time is Good Omens by Neil Gaiman.

I definitely enjoyed writing about these characters so much so that sometimes I've thought they were alive there in my head and I'd be asking THEM what happened next. I certainly miss Big C and Hero and we can only hope they're living their Happily Ever Afters. Cheers.

Hi Lonnie, sorry but I haven't gotten around to writing it yet. I'm actually busy reading (other stories) and playing a certain MMORPG at this time (which is taking WAAY too much time). I don't have as much time to write nowadays.

Oh wow. Glad that you liked it. Same goes for me. I still remember the first story I read here on GA (from DomLuka) and it hooked me to GA and the other stories here. I'm glad I got to be your first - well, you know what I mean! Thank you too for taking the time to leave a review. Authors here appreciate that a lot so don't be afraid to leave other reviews in other stories too!

noooo.. u get it wrong. sorry for my english is not good. what i mean is, my comment is to represent thousand other fans who loves your stories but have not registered as member in GA. so whenever you feeling down or needed enoucragement, please remember my post here. that you have thousands of fans out there who wanted you to continue. anyway,... when is the nxt installment of adamagika will be up? Aah, I see. Okay, I'll keep that in mind. As for the sequel, I have put it on hold (writing in general is on hold actually). I've been spending a lot of my time reading instead, both efictions and mainstream stories so I haven't really had time to write. If (hopefully), I get inspired again to write, I'll certainly make sure to post something here if it will start again soon.

Well, I would certainly not confess to ever having experienced that myself.

Hi Papaya91! Sorry it took so long to reply (one month!). Yes, the story of Jacob's brother will be tackled in the second book. The only thing is that after several drafts of the story which I have been unhappy with, I've decided to take a break from writing it at this time. I sincerely hope I do get to continue writing it again some time soon. I just need inspiration to hit me like it used to. If or when it does get published though, GA is likely my first stop for it.

I guess they couldn't pass it off hehe (or they actually kept those scenes in the movie). Watching the trailer alone, I did not think at all that it was anything other than a movie aimed towards kids (sort of like Spy Kids minus the silliness plus better graphics). Reading the book changed my mind. I'm actually sort of looking for an alternate book/series now because of Ender's Game.

A bit late on the topic but I just recently came across the trailer (and consequently read the book). To be honest, the violence in the book surprised me and I don't know how they're gonna manage to insert it in the movie while keeping it for General Audiences (which I'm guessing they want). Anyway, I'm planning to watch the movie - although I'm not planning to read the rest of the series. I was just falling in love with the whole structure of Battle (or Command) School then all of the sudden fast forward to so many years later. The others are probably good also but the ending of this one made me felt betrayed. Hehe. Anyway, this is definitely one for the big screen.

Thanks FrankD! I plan for Lance to return (however, how big his role is in the end is still to be decided). I'm glad you liked Charlie too. While I have no plans yet of writing it's sequel, the story is there in my head. Perhaps when inspiration strikes me, it might happen. If not, well, let's just all hope they do have their happily ever after.

Yep, this is the first of two planned mini-novels (the second one being between the second and third books). Also, Sam and Matty are major characters in the second book.

You're welcome ania187! I'm been working on and off on the second book. I must admit it's taking me awhile to get it going. I think it's mostly cause of the wonderful feedback I received from my last story Charlie. I feel like every other story I write moving forward has to live up to the same (if not better) standards. Hehe. Anyway, if you haven't yet. Do check out that story. You might like it too.

Yeah, Sam and Matty are very relevant to the sequel of The Spirit Within. I felt their roles in the second book wouldn't make as much sense if I did not somehow explain first where they were coming from. The alternative would have been to switch narrators in Edge of Darkness but I wanted Adam to narrate all three books from beginning to end - a problem I am already thinking about for the last book because the story arc I have planned for that involve multiple events happening at once with several main or secondary characters doing their part all at the same time. But anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself. That book is still a long way off. In the meantime, thanks for reading my story!
