  1. Hey there, Rockyroads. Thanks for sending me your thoughts. I loved the idea of the house too, hehe. Cheers for reading.
  2. Hehehe, Thanks guys that made me really smile! Andy, you crack me up. Thanks for the cheery birthday messages!
  3. Well, it's a free book, so I guess it doesn't hurt if it's not a page-turner! Thanks for reading, I felt for the dragons as I wrote it, and all those discriminated against and abused and not treated as equals. And, yay for nibbly kisses.
  4. The answer to that was intended to come out as an overarching mystery for the series, but I don't see more of this series being written anytime soon. (Not enough interest -- except Andy above! ) But who knows . . . maybe one day. Never say never and all that. Just in case you're worried. The previous inmates are all well and healthy, nothing happened in a bad light (for the most of them) . . . But there is a reason Drake and gang can't locate them. Thanks for the interest! hehehe.

    Chapter 14

I love ah-hah moments! I also love mystery and romance, so putting the two together for this project was awesome fun. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for reading, Andy! I enjoyed being able to share it with you. More, eh? Lol.

    Chapter 14

Thank you so much for reading, Ryan. I'm glad you enjoyed the story. Have a good one!
  9. Chapter 16 My head snapped up and I looked at his glowing face, eyes wide with relief. But before I could ask where Faye was, he spoke: “Like a prisoun simulating nature. Prisoun is the French word for prison. And what type of thing is like a prison that simulates or imitates nature?” “—A cage, I guess,” I said. “Right. A big cage for animals always has trees and other stuff to imitate their natural habitat.” He jumped off the chair, holding the map in his hands. “So I wondered why they us

    Chapter 13

Thanks, Rebel. I have been getting this story out thick and furious, but I wanted to post it before I go on a trip, hence the speed. That, and I need to buckle down and focus on some other writing! The next update is three chapters, so I really hope most loose ends are tied up! Cheers for reading.

    Chapter 13

Thanks Ryan. Yeah, I love using cliffhangers at the end of the chapter when I write, but I hate having to wait for the next chappy to come out when I read, lol! Thanks for reading!
  12. Chapters 13, 14 and 15 . . . I have posted these together as I'd like to get the story out to you before I go on my trip. This is the second to last posting. Enjoy. Chapter 13 “We’ve got something to tell you,” Faye said from the table as soon as we’d entered the lounge. Terry was on the floor doing stomach crunches, his legs wrapped under Faye’s chair. Each time he came up he slapped her a high five. “But first, how was your evening?” Jack and I shared a look. I wasn’t sure what he wa

    Chapter 12

Actually, there's a rule that an author can only post so many chapters per week, which I didn't realize. But I am just about to put a whole chunk of chapters into one chappy.

    Chapter 12

NZ sun! Love it. Unfortunately when I went back for a visit last month, it was all wintery and oh-so-cooooold. Still beautiful though.

    Chapter 12

Drastic changes are needed, I find their society really very sad--and ours is too, sometimes.

    Chapter 11

Haha, as usual. But there's a mystery to solve as well . . .

    Chapter 10

Yep, messed up again. But maybe, slowly, things will start moving forward like you say . . .

    Chapter 9

Oh, yeah, Jack is much more in touch with his emotions, for the most part, anyway. . .
  19. Chapter 12 After we’d packed everything away from band practice, Simon, Ben and Chrissy headed upstairs to leave. “Gig’s tomorrow, I’m so shitting-my-pants nervous,” Simon said. Ben laughed but when he stopped said in a serious tone, “Yeah, me too.” “It’ll be great, you’ll see.” Chrissy flashed them a brilliant smile. “As long as Drake doesn’t forget the words.” She turned and gave me a wink. She’d been totally cool about the whole thing date-thing and, thankfully, didn’t feel we
  20. Chapter 11 I meandered to the concrete pylon where I’d locked up Terry’s bike and pulled out a key from my pocket. In a haze, I unlocked the first chain and started on the second. The lock was stiff and the stupid key wouldn’t fit. After a few more unsuccessful attempts to jam the key in, I started to think less about Chrissy and Jack, and focus more on the chain. Damn it. Wrong key. I reached into my pockets for the second set, but they were empty. “You idiot!” I slammed my

    Chapter 1

How did I miss this? LOL. Hmmm, yeah, I guess some of those places are very specific -- not at all easy to guess I must be from one of them, most likely the most obscure. I E> NZ. Thanks Andy,

    Chapter 10

haha, yeah, even while I was writing I was thinking 'kiss him already' but alas, he just isn't ready in this chapter yet.

    Chapter 10

    Yeah, oops, all right!
  24. Chapter 10 Jack eyed me with caution the entire journey home. Only once I’d packed Avice’s diary and we were on the road again did he relax a little. “Spit it out. You’re mad, aren’t you?” Ya say? But I wasn’t about to let him take the fun out of my plan by apologizing. “Nup.” Oh hell yeah I was. “It’s my birthday, let’s just . . . get along for once, okay?” He stuck his hands in her pockets and kept walking. A mischievous thrill ran through me as we took a short cu
  25. Chapter 9 I hesitated only a second before I twisted the handle and entered Jack’s room. “Morning!” I couldn’t see any part of Jack except for his outline underneath the blankets. He didn’t budge. It was a cheeky thing to say, but I couldn’t resist: “Up! It’s eight in the morning.” The lump twitched a little, and there came a muffled groan. “Down this. It’ll help.” The sheets ruffled and Jack’s head emerged. I whistled. “The chicks would be falling over themsel
