  1. As a woman and a writer, I just want to say I love writing love stories (emotional comes first, but personally I like a splash of the physical too, because I think it adds to the realness--and sexual desire is a part of life for most). Anyway, I write both straight and gay love stories for no intended audience, just whoever wants to read them.
  2. HAPPY B'DAY, Hope you have a good one, and your wishes come true!!!!!!!!!!!! yay! Anyta
  3. I enjoyed the story. That was lovely. I had that nice 'sigh' afterwards.
  4. Um, I'm honest about who I am here (although I use an artist's name here). But I find it easier to express myself through words than if you'd speak to me directly. hehehe.
  5. Happy Birthday. Hope the day is nice for you. *smiles!!!
  6. Well, I think there are some great thoughts on this. It comes down to reader and mood in the end. I read a variety of stories ranging from the pride and prejudice type romantic suspense to full on erotica. Bring it on. If I look at my bookshelf it's hard to categorize myself as a single type of reader. I love a bit of steamy-ness, but I do agree it has to fit the story. Also--this is something I wonder for my own writing--how do you find the balance between sexy and honesty? I mean to totally ignore our sexual side seems false sometimes (and has known to irritate me when reading a book). Hmmmm also, yeah I write sex scenes (actually the story I'm writing now is the only one with it--see I can write stories without it too, haha) but for me it's about learning to open up, you know, loosen on the page. I've been told before that my writing isn't brave enough that I shy away from getting into the nitty-gritty. (Obviously it's something to do with balance. Blah, I'm rambling. *Is still figuring it out) Summary: If there is conflict and tension and the story can handle it. Yup. I'm happy with details.
  7. Hehehe. Well then, count me in! Yay!
  8. Is this open to anyone? Or is this for long time members only? I think it sounds like fun, but I wouldn't wanna crash.
  9. Have an awesome one!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. WOW!!!:king: THANKS all you lovely, lovely peeps! Such a sweet idea. hehe. Well, I had a fabulous day--me hubs made blueberry pancakes (Yum), and then he'd organized a SURPRISE party for me. The munchkin. haha, only thing is, I knew something was going on as soon as I noticed all the shoes by the front door. Silly billy should've hid them somewhere else. hehehe. Still, it was AWESOME. So thanks again for the well wishes. You peeps are really sweet, Anyta
  11. What makes a couple memorable...hmmm--I think it depends. For me, in books and movies, it's the underlying sexual tension that is added to with plot conflicts, thereby making me root and wish and hope they'll finally get it together. This journey of suspense makes a particular couple memorable. For me the "ah, finally" moments are hard to forget. In real life, I like what another post said about the individuals being strong characters (themselves) and good dynamics for working together with another.
  12. One thing comes to mind right now, and that's when people on the street tell me how to look after my child. It's annoying coming from elderly people, but I can more easily let it go. I hate it when it's people my own age.
  13. Actually, I'm not such a fan of baths. I can't relax when my fingers get all wrinkly. It makes my teeth go numb. I'm a total shower gal.
  14. Thanks. I'm feeling pretty welcome here which is great. Thanks, this is really helpful. You're awesome. And to answer your question, I actually have a rough idea in my head that I need expanding on, and to do more research on. I was hoping someone out there could give me tips on where to find solid up-to-date info on HIV-- I intend to write a gay romance (go happy endings!) with my MC positive--but when I started writing I realized it sounded sorta dated :S. Don't want that. Maybe I'd ought to stick this up on a forum.
  15. Or perhaps I'm just not computer Savvy. I'm a NZer living in Berlin, and a writer. I write a variety of stories, but my last couple have involved gay storylines. I guess I wanted a place to come that would be supportive in that endeavour. Any recommendations where to start? Cheers, Anyta
