Okay so this is my 'virgin' post on a lofty Hosted Author's forum so forgive me if I am verklempt. I like reviews but I think these forums are SO much more fun, I can go back and forth with you and everyone gets to join in. As I said on your story page, you are really good at not totally giving us the picture of your characters but more than enough to see them. I mean what exactly are they? Jaguars? Humans? Hybrids? Shape shifters? I mean it thought Bashta - so I looked it up for this sue me - was a human or at least in human form. So why he dissin' the homo-sapients now?? But on the other hand, I like how well you hint at things to come without telling us. I am terrible at telegraphing stuff. You know Cia, that was awful, just awful. I mean you give us just a hint and the wham, you snatch it away. You are awful mean; might I say the "Queen" of mean even? Okay now for the real - You do this a lot in your writing, you give us just enough to 'see' your characters but not enough to really truly "SEE" them. Which is kinda cool. But I am a tad confused, maybe the next chapter will flesh it out. But I don't understand if Cavel and the kitling [can't spell it, too lazy to go look] - are of the same kind, are they a special subset of the same species? Are the other in the clan, the same as Cavel? As I said, just wondering - 4K words is hard to answer all the questions someone has when you are world building. Well you know they say it hardest to look inside and see what you need. That goes for addition or mental health or trauma. We all think we are fine and it is everyone else who is messed up. But there is still time - maybe - I suppose stuff can happen in 3 chapters, but really . . .

HC, Sorry about the truncated review, I went to insert an emoticon and I hit post by accident. Since there is no edit feature, I was stuck with it as it was. As much as I am not a fan of the chapter by chapter reading, it is how I have been posting as well so who am I to bitch about it. So of course I won't stop - it's too much fun to tease you in reviews which requires I read them BUT speaking of being pissed, this is me at you -- OMG if I coulda bitch slapped you when I was reading that I would have - you are the biggest F'in tease. And of course Jacob is a mess and if he doesn't wise up or shape up, he is going to cost Adam his life. Adam can't concentrate fully if Jacob is constantly f'in with his emotions. Now, since I do not expect you to answer what's up with Jacob, i.e. what happened with Victor - can you at least answer if we the readers will get an explanation?? That's not giving anything away is it? I mean even if one [both actually] died, you could still explain it. Right?? One last comment, your editing has really improved tremendously. I mean that as a compliment, so if that is why it is taking a week per chapter, then it is well worth it. Not that I minded, [i'm still reading and pumping your work right?] but I know how it feels when you post a mistake filled chapter as opposed to how it feels when you post a relatively error free one. Honestly there is a lot to say, but I can't quite wrap my mind around things tonight. You've done an amazing job of keeping us all wondering what's going on. It's not that we can't speculate but there are so many things that 'might' be right but only one that is. And that won't be revealed for several weeks. Not sure I see Peter trying to use Jason's family's money. This was more of a Bryce was there, Peter was there, the bottle was there. The "ask your granddad for another' comment was more a defensive mechanism to deflect from what he did that a comment on how he felt about their money. Other than that I think you have some good insights into Peter. What happens to them will depend on Peter's insight into Peter. Hopefully you are correct, I think the last three chapters are interesting, let's hope everyone else does too Andy

Peter is having issues, as someone wrote to me earlier, this is not him, or at least not the him before the attack. It's not that he doesn't love Jason, it's that he isn't aware he's different so he is as frustrated as Jason. The two had fallen into a nice grove, which Peter is out of but doesn't know it. Like I said in a reply to someone else, this close to the end it is getting harder and harder to say stuff. So I'll keep mum on the issue of what happens and the hints being dropped. Yes, Sara, I felt it had to add something to the story - in this chapter it was to show how little Peter suddenly was concerned for Jason and how it was all about him and his needs and his ability to be in control. Since Anyta is always chiding me to show not tell, I decided this was the best way to show this side of Peter - along with the other aspects - like Peter was fine not seeing Jason until Jason had something else to do, or when Jason said not tonight, Peter insisted that yes it would be tonight by coming over, etc. This close to the end, I won't comment on the ending, but now I know conner and jared are gonna be happy at the end of SS by Kingdomby the Sea.

The entire story will probably wrap up in less than ten days. There are only three chapters left. I think it fair to say, I will keep you all on edge until the last chapter. At least that is the plan. I am interested to see how folks take the ending. But I am going to be patient and not jump to post them all at once. Thanks Kevin. - - Andy
