    The Healer

    Very satisfying. Thank you.
  2. Thank you. You're kind. I appreciate it. All the best.
  3. Sorry, I loved it when it was mostly revolving around Jake and DM, but the single-sentenced paragraphs since the network got so big and the banter got so dagged has trivialized it and turned me off. The narrator waves his magic wand too much, none of the characters has enough substance, I've stopped caring. Sorry. that's how I'm feeling. Thanks for the ride, but I'll walk from here.

    Chapter 1

Nice balance of sympathy, concern, effort, effort, shape, intention.... I like your narrator.

    Romance Deep Dive

I found a story I wanted to read, but could not find the first chapter. Very frustrating. Not quite traumatizing, but triggering... I've had this problem before, and it's one reason I rarely come back to the site unless by accident I've found a story Ithat absorbs me, and then I get emails with hte next installment. But getting started on a new story has pitfalls that you may not know are there if you are a frequent visitor and remember the way back..... I can't remember the trick of it. This must be a problem for other potential readers... COuld you fix it? Imagine you've never visited the site before and are looking for a story that will make you feel less alone. Very discouraging. Happy new year to you, too. Paul
  6. Navigating the site... Stupid question, but now that I'm curious, how do I get to the first chapter? I can't find a link.

    Hell Week

Thanks for this chapter. I've been anxious all day. Reading thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis snapped me out of it; you got the magic touch.
  9. The chemistry in this story iswas reminding me at the beginning, the "not an easy lay" part, of Kontrol and Kaos-- which is high praise for our author here, since I haven't seen anything in 20 years as cool and fun and high=fantastical as that love match between the hot guy who just wants this semester to be easy and the boy who's going to play the hard-to-get game according to the rules. Very hot chemistry between these guys, and I'm loving following them around every bend that wants to be stroked. Also, I like Rusty.

Does Chapter 9 exist yet? Today being 7/5/21
  12. Sorry Myr, it DID have line breaks in it -- thanks Amelia -- until I edited to correct some typos and suddenly the editing program removed all the line breaks, and nothing I could do would restore them.
  13. THis is my first substantial post to the site, and i hope I can say what I feel about the Vampire Jarred stories -- both of them -- without going overboard. AThe "insider's view" pleasure DK can give (especially in the "redo") reminds me how much i enjoyed Upton SInclair's Lanny Budd stories, where a young likeable guy sees what's really going on at the Versailles Treaty negotiations, etc. He likes to get us near the power center and let us feel important. So I don't want to just say brilliant, compelling, spell-binding, though there are many passages that are stunning -- best of all, the negotiations, such as the scene at the Conclave between Dragonis, Jarred, and the US govt rep (in J1) where Jared tactfully interjects at JUST the right moment the idea that having hunters taught by an actual vampire would be good for both sides. He proves his worth to Dragonis at thatmoment as a counsellor -- since Dragonis had flared defiantly, remembering his captivity in that job, and Jared saves Dragonis from a mistake he MIGHT have made had his self-control not saved him. This kind of understanding seems to me the main reason I keep reading dkstories -- despite the interminable floor plans, house accounts, livery detailings -- in short, the estate planning and decor-management concerns that can grab DK and make him go mechanical; ad infinitem. (Maybe other readers love them.) Security DOES matter. It's probably not safe to say that all queers are insecure and easily drawn into fantasies of hob-nobbing with the great and powerful -- but I do find it true of myself. The attraction of DK for me is his ability to create worlds that mirror reality and seem to operate according to the ways power flows in societies I have known
