  1. Since no one else is even attempting to... Andy, you got it partially right, so, its all yours now! *bows out* It's 'The Story of a Shipwrecked Sailor' By Gabriel García Márquez ps: Since Andy did mention the hugeass title, here it is. The full title is The Story of a Shipwrecked Sailor: Who Drifted on a Liferaft for Ten Days Without Food or Water, Was Proclaimed a National Hero, Kissed by Beauty Queens, Made Rich Through Publicity, and Then Spurned by the Government and Forgotten for All Time.
  2. Soooo.... want me to give it away? Andy does have the right book, i believe!

    Prologue

the first time i read it, i had to wait a while to absorb it. to try and see where it was all coming from! the only thing i managed to say, even to myself was wow, thats a lot of emotions in there! like everyone else, Roan, I cant wait for more. Also, did o mention i am really glad i am a part of this venture? ( i get to read it before everyone else does! )
  4. Rule book? who follows the rulebook anymore?
  5. there you go, Andy! pick your brains enough, and you are almost there! *is wondering whether or not to just say the title and pass the torch to Andy*
  6. It's not THAT obscure! sheeesh! Okay, since you people haven't figured me out yet, Here's one more clue: this is NOT originally written in English.
  7. Sorry Andy, I typed it! and lemme fix those.
  8. The book was originally published as a fourteen consecutive day series of installments in a newspaper in 1955. Hmmm, so that is a big clue. Also, it's a non-fiction piece.
  9. well, it sort of does. besides, i didn't write it! i just quoted it!
  10. My girlfriend was named Mary Address, and I met her through another sailor's girlfriend after I had been in Mobile for two months.
  11. oh oh oh!! Is this a Grisham novel? The Client?
  12. I sort of agree with rec, here. for some reason, 'my man' is a little possessive, in a way that i dont really like. although, it does sound endearing. I like calling my husband 'My taller half'. Yes, its a dig on my below-average height, but also, it's a personalisation of 'My other half'. I like how it shows that we're two parts of a whole. as in we belong *with* each other instead of *to* each other. (that's my belief in how relationships should work, anyway! ) Hope i could explain what mean.

  18. I can't stop laughing at the end! just.. wow! i thought it would be the onset of another panic attack when he mentioned the dungeon. lol. glad it was not the case. It was a wonderful read. my imaginations ran in every direction. Gotta try and get them back in line.. but... hmm... drowning in chocolate! *wonders just how much chocolate is needed*
  19. ahhh! yeah. you mean forbidden love? i can see that. but, tbh. this one really tells a story of two people who simple love each other, not romantically.. just pure, unadulterated love. and how that can be misconstrued! glad you liked it!
  20. oh, wow! thank you. but.. really, no blames placed here. just regrets of someone close lost, maybe?
  21. Thank you!. It's really a happy poem. somewhere someone found freedom. Hope it didnt make you too sad.
  22. Jeff Kinney and yeah Wayne, it's all yours!
