*Sigh* Well, now you've done it. The nagging worked. Not only was this story put on hold for another one (Return to Sender) but now I've started writing Kit & Mischa's story...and I need to get that info and story out of my head before I can continue here. Some details will change in this one, mostly dates. But, I have not forgotten this one! It will continue! Just let me sort out my head. 😂

Why don't we all meet up over at your place, and help you out? I'm sure there will be some pairing up...added benefit.
-
It certainly does! 😂

Very true! Once its out there, you always see shit you wanna change. Think of a better way to say something. Even just now, after it's published, I saw two things I changed quickly. Grrr.... I swear, whatever I write next, it better be fully completed, so I can re-read, and edit before I send it off elsewhere to be edited again. *sighs*

New chapter is up! I know, I know, a bit late. I did try to get it done sooner, but...I was being fickle. Sent it in, had the edit come in, then wasn't too wild about it yet. All me again, not the editor. Sorry!

CHAPTER 27 - Adam “I really hope that it’s a boy,” Nikki answered, when I asked her if she would prefer a brother or sister. “I want a brother.” There was a celebratory mood out back on the deck. Half an hour before that, we received the welcome news that Megan and Callum were indeed expecting. I watched Kai’s sister for a while with the knowledge of what we’d talked about previously still in my mind, and she seemed to have let go of certain ideas - such as giving Callum every opportu

Ah, yes, the Emma ones. Nope, I don't trust em. We have them over here too. Nooooope. 😂

🙏 New chapter is coming soon, it's at the editor for review.

Unfortunately, I've gained a few extra nights. Two more and I'll be off. Rest assured, the next one is almost done. But when I'm in my work-headspace, I'm not in my writing headspace. But I'm hoping to post on Sunday evening. 😂

@Al Norris That's a compliment if I ever read one. For me, that count would be the amount of years I made people wait to finish a story. It's not pretty.

I really wouldn't know. I tend to not read other stories and as such, not read comments elsewhere. In recent times, only one story I read on here, because it was far removed of my own drivel. 😉

As a nurse, I used to work at such homes. But the times have changed, at least over here. They got rid of nursing homes in Holland, replacing them with care facilities where people arrive after having lived at home for far too long. When it's actually too late and they should have gone to a nursing facility years before. Our government, in all its wisdom, thought it a better way. They're backtracking now, and more nursing style homes are being resurrected, but the damage has been done. Some stay home for far too long, in fact, that for some, it isn't safe. Those with dementia, for instance. I wrote it with them in mind. Perhaps shortsighted? Pr, as Kai mentions...a cop out? It didn't feel as that, but I can see how it might be read as such. My apologies.

Why....he some sort of hardass? 😉

I think this might be the sweetest of compliment. Thank you so much. 🙏 And thank you for reading it. 🙏

Nah, I wouldn't be deliberately cruel. Life happens, of course, which is what happened last week - I had 4 nightshifts. 😆
-
Yep, that's me! Can't take criticism and I'm very petty by nature. 😂
-
Well, I leave it to you, to fantasize about that...I might be. 😉

Fine? FINE?! Pffft! I sit here, slaving away for hours and hours and it's just fine? Well...FINE, then! I'll settle for fine writing then, instead of aiming for excellent. Fine. Tsk... Well, maybe...maybe not. I guess we'll know when I write the next fine chapter. Nope. LOL, Not only is it a returning topic in this story, it's also because I'm in the middle of choosing a new one. No? You might have noted that the beds that were selected by Adam were chosen because Arya jumped on the one he chose. However, I think you mean in the house? No, she's not allowed on the beds. She appropriated the loveseat in the study, and she spends the nights in the utility room. There is a scene coming where she's up to some mischief at night... 😉 Caught that, did you? They are quite similar. It's the one I settled on. Also, they are very good for people who run hot at night. I'm one of those, I don't like heat while sleeping. Can't stand it. My room needs to be colder. So I hate summer. Not really a convo about them as more that he was caught with them and had to explain why he had them. I see several people catching on that, it's not an issue. As for mattresses, they need to be replaced every 10 years or so. Well, that's what I always do... I have no issues with it. Maybe that's why I wrote it...hmm...🤔 Never really was uncomfy with it, I always see it as being clean, and my partner should know I am? I've had moments where my (ex) pretty much told me to go do it while he was on his way back from work or whatever, so he could...well, you get the idea. 😂 Why is this such a thing? I really don't understand. In this age, where everything is a topic? Nah...don't get it. Highly doubtful. He's a throwaway character who served his purpose (the jealousy scene). For that, I'll make you wait another week. Try it again...I'll add a week. Go on...I could use the time. 😈

CHAPTER 26 - Kai On Wednesday morning, I woke very early. It was still dark, the moon in its late stage still providing some light through the net curtains. And close against me, with an arm draped over my stomach, lay Adam on his side, flush against me, with his head on my shoulder, breathing soundlessly. My back was killing me. This bed was, unfortunately, too small for two, especially for a guy like me, and a little too soft to my liking - I prefer a more firm mattress. But all
