I'm Not Your Perfect Son
James Hiwatari commented on James Hiwatari's story chapter in I'm Not Your Perfect Son
Oscar unfortunately still had some trust in his parents. He didn't think (or he didn't want to think) they could be that bad... At least if he still had any doubts, those are far gone now. Thanks for the review! -

If there was anything good in the media’s attempt to slaughter Dmitri’s reputation, it was that the saying there’s no such thing as bad publicity turned out to be true after all. The ISO was featured so much in the newspapers that our ticket sales suddenly sky-rocketed. On Thursday, the concert hall was crowded with shallow patrons who wanted nothing more than to see if Dmitri dared show his face in public again. Surprise, surprise: Dmitri not only showed up, but we made a point of demonstratin

From Russia with Love
James Hiwatari commented on James Hiwatari's story chapter in From Russia with Love
Dmitri's life is a bit of roller-coaster. You say that now, and you haven't even seen the three years between him getting to Iceland and Gunni showing up... There are some bits of nice in Siggi hidden somewhere. He's not all sarcasm and horribleness... And yeah, Gunni is Gunni, hopefully that's to be expected. Thanks for the review! -
From Russia with Love
James Hiwatari commented on James Hiwatari's story chapter in From Russia with Love
Well, I couldn't just give it all up in one go, right? The rest of Dmitri's past will take a while to be revealed, but I'm hoping there will be enough things to keep you entertained meanwhile. Thanks for the review! This week's chapter will be posted hopefully later today. Hope you like it too! -
Thanks for the review! And yes, reporters seem to be some kind of universal plague that's bred to sell papers and nothing else. Ah, well...

Jó didn’t even try to read the whole news article. He merely glanced at the headline ‘Russian Star Oboist is a Prostitute’ before grabbing his phone and running to his office. “Is he going to yell at reporters again?” I asked Eiri, feeling a little intimidated by Jó’s uncharacteristically blunt manners. My cousin grinned. “I think he’ll try to do much more than yelling. If you want to keep thinking of Jó as the gentle guy who cooks us food, you might want to stay far away from his office.” Ei

Thanks for the review! Yes, you're absolutely right. It's all my fault. I am so sorry for the 'engaging story', but I am afraid there is nothing I can really do about that. If it helps, in one week you'll get to hear Dmitri telling Gunni about his life before Iceland. Hope you find it worth the wait. Be Myself! is set in Glasgow, Scotland, which coincidently (ha ha right) is where I live. The school system here is slightly different than the English one, so that might be why it appears that way. And now, if Scotland becomes independent with the referendum, I'll have to read through all the last 39 chapters and change any mention to them being in the UK. Ah, well, didn't see that coming when I started writing the story... My ideal life would consist of me sitting on my computer for the whole day writing stories. See, you have a habit of reading quickly, and I have a habit of not being able to just write one story at a time. If I had my way, though, I would be able to update everything once a week and everyone would be happy. All I need is a magical source of income that will put £500 on my bank account every month and then I can make my dream come true! Have a nice week!

I'm Not Your Perfect Son
James Hiwatari commented on James Hiwatari's story chapter in I'm Not Your Perfect Son
Thanks for the review! Well, the chapter came one week earlier... I now wonder what kinds of bad thoughts you had. Sorry for making you wait! n.n -
This chapter was written based on the Viñas’ recollection of events. My own memories of that Sunday afternoon never translated to more than quick flashes, sounds and impressions. Even now, any attempt at recovering those memories causes me nothing but pain and distress. I apologise for the slightly different style of this chapter, but this is the only way I found of communicating the aftermath of my meeting with Joseph Schubert. (...) It was mid-afternoon, but the pouring rain and the dark cl

“I’m going to try sneaking into my parents’ house tomorrow,” I announced to Oliver. We were still in Luce’s party; it had been maybe half an hour since my improvised duet with Helena had ended, and my boyfriend and I were eating our way through our third slice of cake. “What? Why?” Oliver asked, puzzled. “I had this idea when I was playing the violin. I want to get some things I left there so that I won’t have any reason to ever go back,” I explained. My plan was simple, but effective. “I’ll g

Russian Star Oboist is a Prostitute Exclusive report! It has emerged that Dmitri Miroslavich Kovlov, the twenty-three year-old principal oboe of the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra (ISO), used to exchange sexual favours for money in his native Russia. This information comes from a credible anonymous source, who confirmed that Dmitri ‘did everything his clients asked for with a special kind of pleasure, which obviously made him very popular.’ According to the same source, Dmitri claimed to have

I like how you put a dancing emoticon to express your feelings for the past Dmitri has been trying to hide from everyone. I don't think Dmitri himself would choose this particular mode of expression, but your reaction does amuse me. Think on the bright side: Margrét is so bad you at least don't have to think too hard about whom you should direct your hatred to. And she makes Siggi sound like the Easter Bunny in comparison (though an Easter Bunny who's allergic to chocolate). As for Gunni's sexuality/romance development... we shall see, we shall see... Thanks a lot for the review! I'll write the next chapter now, for your entertainment.

Heh, thanks! I'm about to do that now, so you won't have to wait long. Thanks for the review!

Halloween in September
James Hiwatari commented on James Hiwatari's story chapter in Halloween in September
Thanks for the review! Technically, Oscar is 16, so he should be considered adult enough to decide to move away from his parents. Now, as for if that's the main issue... Sam is now one of my favourite characters. He's definitely fun to write, and I have plans for his future that make him all the more cool. And now for Part 3! -
The shiny ginger ball of talkative energy that also answered by the name of ‘Oliver’ kept bouncing away for the rest of the week. After the workshop on Tuesday, all the way to Friday, his coming out got a great response from his classmates, which only fuelled his enthusiastic energy further. Every day after school he would eagerly tell his family and me all the details of his classes, and how the teachers had no problems calling him by his new name and pronouns. “Are you doing your homework on

After Koichi Yuy’s two-second fight of destructive awesomeness, the next hour and a half of the tournament was quite boring in comparison. No one else from group A and nobody from groups B and C had True Spirits, so they could not make showy explosions, exaggerated pyrotechnic tricks, or overpowered special attacks. The strongest ones did manage a few creative illusions, though. While it is true that most MaruMonzterz fans loved the game even without True Spirits, those who were used to the dest

On Friday morning I was awakened by Jó’s angry voice shouting obscenities at someone. It was so weird to hear him raise his voice in that way that, at first, I thought I was still dreaming. I could still hear him while I climbed out of bed and changed out of my pyjamas. When I got to the kitchen, I found Eiri sitting at the table, massaging his temples with one hand and holding a newspaper with the other. Jó paced up and down the kitchen, still very engaged in his angry outburst. “What kind of

Uphill Struggle, Downhill Crash
James Hiwatari commented on James Hiwatari's story chapter in Uphill Struggle, Downhill Crash
Thanks for the review! I'm writing the next chapter now, and by the end you'll have an idea about Dmitri's past. There, something to look forward to. Also in that chapter: someone does give the reporters a piece of their minds, but you might be surprised as to whom... (or maybe not. I don't know, but the suspense sounds nice, so there you go). And you're basically saying Siggi feel good to act like a decent person. If he ever sees it that way, that's probably going to make him inclined to be even more of an arsehole. -
Uphill Struggle, Downhill Crash
James Hiwatari commented on James Hiwatari's story chapter in Uphill Struggle, Downhill Crash
Thanks for the review. Siggi does have a heart, it's just buried so deep that he often forgets it exists. And then, when he remembers it's there, he doesn't quite remember how to use it properly. Or rather, realises nobody taught him how to use it. But hey, Siggi cares about people! Some might want to call that a plot twist. -
A Lesson on Gender Identity
James Hiwatari commented on James Hiwatari's story chapter in A Lesson on Gender Identity
Thanks for the review! Well, Hannah does tend to be a bit blunt about things... she definitely doesn't care what you think about her. And those were nearly-naked people after all... It was an interesting experience to write that chapter, because that's basically one of the things I do as part of my volunteer work, but for the chapter I had to try to be on the other side of the workshop... -
Please note that two weeks ago I updated the previous chapter of Be Myself!, so that it's no longer Oscar's cute writings, but the real chapter 35. If you haven't read it yet, please do so before coming to this one. It's a very short chapter, so won't take you long. “Can I have your attention, please?” My chemistry teacher banged his pencil against the table to make everyone look at him. Mr Hendry was an old man who mentioned at least once per lesson how close he was to retirement. Unfortunatel

Allegro ma non troppo
James Hiwatari commented on James Hiwatari's story chapter in Allegro ma non troppo
Thank you for the review! This new Siggi is quite fun to write. The main story should also get more details to his back story soon, so that should give you an even better idea about where all the horribleness comes from.
