Not at all. Pleats would actually be an enhancement by laying along those curves drawing attention, as if this lad needs help. Imagine the sway of the pleats as he walks away. Of course you could follow, discretely.

We do so wear belts, kilt belts, and they typically have big shiny buckles. I've got one with fighting stags another with Fenris and Norse knot work.

I feel horrible. The weather here is abnormally warm and muggy. It's making my head and mum's poor knees ache. We went out for breakfast and I am so glad to be back home. We're supposed to be going out for a Christmas Party with a group from mum's church. But unless I start to feel better that isn't likely to happen.
