  20. Happy Second Christmas, Boxing Day, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa ... y'all. I've been coping with a migraine since Monday afternoon. It's still with me. They have been particularly bad since I've recovered from the cold(?) Mum and I had at Thanksgiving. This has not been the holiday we'd hoped. Because we were ill we didn't bake as many cookies. Not that it mattered in the end as we still had plenty to share just less variety. We didn't do much shopping. A few things for neighbors and Mum's great grandson. It bothered her that she didn't have gifts for me. I ordered a few things online. What I ordered for her arrived and she liked them. Of the two things for me, one was the wrong size, the other arrives today(?). I don't care but it bothered her. Fortunately I was well enough to make our traditional brekkie of fritatta and english muffins. I also baked a small ham and roasted a small bit of beef. Those sliced for sandwiches along with pickled veggies was our evening meal. Followed by warm mincemeat pie with vanilla ice cream. Nothing fancy but a tradition that harkens back to Christmas Eve when I was a child. We always went to Mum's parents. My Grandma always had cold baked ham and roast beef that we made into sandwiches. Mum and her sister provided a variety of picnic type sides plus cookies for dessert. We shared the ham, beef, pickle plus scalloped potatoes with our neighbors. She has pnuemonia and he just got back from a two night stay in the hospital after a fall. Normally she would have baked a ham and made the best homemade German potato salad and a macaroni salad. She just wasn't well enough. I told her we had plenty to share and that what friends do for each other. We'd given them a plate of cookies with homemade fudge, fuitcake and some peanut brittle the day before. So they too had a quiet celebration. I don't mean to whine, I suppose it's just compounded by the fact that our Christmas last year was less than normal because we had covid. It bothers me because these are some of Mum's last Christmases and Christmas has always been special for her. Blessed be y'all.
  21. He'll say ...
  22. Can't you just not?
  23. I thought you'd go for something a bit more vibrant but it seems you're suggesting this might be your shade afterall. Matte or gloss? More importantly, how many tamales?
