    Prompts
Well here we are again at the start of another weekend. Yes, it is Friday and that means it is time to tempt you all with some new prompts. Now that October is underway, some people might find it nice to curl up with some apple cider, a slice of pumpkin pie, and write! As usual it is time to see if we can encourage new authors, revitalize lagging authors, and see if we can keep our usual crew pumping out new works. Just the weekly reminder - Prompt responses under 1,000 words must be posted as part of a collection.

    Prompt 452 – Creative

    Tag – First Line

“So tell me all the details!”

    Prompt 453 – Creative

    Tag – The Break

You never got to take your vacation during the summer when everyone else did. With it slowly moving into fall you decide it is past time for a break. Where do you go on your vacation?

This week was a bit sparse with people taking a shot at the new prompts. We did have two authors who attempted Prompt 450 which asked authors to use the following in a story – an apple, a farm, hay, a horse, a diamond ring.

First up was JohnAR with another chapter of his metaverse.

Curious as to what happens next? Read it right here - https://www.gayauthors.org/story/johnar/metaprompts/38

Puppilull attacked this as well with a new chapter about the Vampire we've grown very interested in.

You can read the rest of this tale here -

So that is a sample of what our authors did last week. If you are interested in the stories please read and comment on them. It helps an author to know people are enjoying their work.

I have question to ask you, loyal readers. Do you prefer to have a sample of all the works our authors have done or would you rather just have one or two spotlighted? I'd like to know as we go forward so prompts can reflect your interests.

Thank you for taking the time to look at this week's works by our talented authors. Please check back next week to see what new wonders have been produced. Remember to read, comment, and tell your friends about the stories and authors you enjoy. It helps to introduce people to new stories and gives a boost to the author. Till next time, be safe and well.

Greetings. Sorry if I am not a familiar face, but I had to take some time away from the site. However, I am back to tease and cajole you into possibly writing a prompt for us. Welcome to the prompts of 2021.
    Prompt 848 - Creative
    Tag - First Line
"That was the last thing I ever expected to see."
    Prompt 849 - Creative
    Tag - New Man
When you left work on Friday, your best friend told you he planned to start a weight loss program so he would be a new man by the end of the year. Monday morning you stroll into work and find a stranger sitting at your friend's desk. Everyone is treating him like your friend but he is taller, thinner, and a few years younger. Who is the new man and what happened to your friend?
Remember short pieces must be part of a collection. Until next time remember to read, write, comment, and like. Stay safe and healthy.

Most people who make it big on Tik Tok or YouTube work hard to become viral. Unfortunately your video went viral for all the wrong reasons with two and a half million views. What is your video about?
So those are the new prompts. Hopefully, one catches your eye and gets you to write. Until next time. Remember to read, write, comment, and like.  Stay well.

Welcome to July. Did you miss me? Hopefully, you enjoyed the anthology. Time for some new prompts.
    Prompt 890 - Creative
    Tag - First Line
You touch a hair on his head and I will break your hand! Do you understand me?
    Prompt 891 - Creative
    Tag - Stanger
There had been filled with electricity all day. As evening fell, the storm finally arrived with heavy rain, lightening, and thunder. From the darkness he strode out, a large hat that hid his face. Nearly seven foot tall he walked like a phantasm with his coat billowing in the rain. The stranger had arrived and everything would change. Why?
So those are the new offerings in the prompts. Hopefully, something appeals to you. Until next time. Remember to read, write, comment, and like.  Stay safe.

    Dad
Like most people, I lost my father and it turned my world upside down. It is hard to deal with the death of a parent. It was when my mom passed. I stepped in and for 12 years I have taken care of my dad. No dates, no life, just work and helping him.
With his passing it was rough. It hurt worse in February when my job cut 5,000+ people due to Corona. Sent me into a depression. There were days where getting out of bed was the accomplishment of the day.
I finally have pulled everything together. I am finally executing my father's will. It hasn't been easy. My brother didn't come when my dad was sick. He didn't come when my dad died. All he has done is complain about how long this is taking.
So now I turn the page and wonder what am I supposed to do? Who am I? Only time will tell as I begin again at 51.

Sean is 6'4", solid muscle, fair skin, hair that glows like burnt copper, and just twenty-one years old. You were heading home when the giant man nearly collapsed on you, drunk. You manage to get him standing when he grabs you and passionately kisses you. From that moment on your life completely changed. What happened after the Irish lad planted one on you?
Hopefully, one of the prompts will appeal to you and you will write a tale.  Unfortunately, we had no takers last week. Until next time, remember to read, write, comment, and like.

    Prompt 862 - Creative
    Tag - The gift
For years the world dealt with a pandemic that was slowly killing everyone. It took five years before a cure was found and a vaccine was created. A side affect of the vaccine was found in the first generation born to parents who had been vaccinated. Their children developed a super power at thirteen. Anyone who was LGBTIQ+ seemed to develop more than one gift and they were stronger. Tomorrow is your birthday and what gift did you get?
    Prompt 863 - Creative
    Tag - List of Words
Use the following words in a story - a tombstone, a computer screen, an apple, a warm blanket, and a man's ring.

As your day goes on you find roses with tags addressed to you. At five pm, as you prepare to leave work, you find a twelfth rose and invite to dinner. Who is your admirer and why the dozen roses?
We did have someone take a shot at prompt 856. @Mawgrim wrote this - https://gayauthors.org/story/mawgrim/mawgrims-prompts/1  Go give it a read, a comment, and if you enjoyed like it.

Welcome to February. Is it me or is this year flying by? Oh well, it is prompt time.
    Prompt 856 - Creative
    Tag - List of words.
Use the following words in a story - a snow storm, a beach towel, a postcard, an old wallet, and a goat.
    Prompt 857 - Creative
    Tag - Healthy
Your partner is always wanting to travel, try new foods, and experience new things. Unfortunately, you have been sick and refused to do much. One day, they don't answer their cell phone and you are forced to shopping. You remember hearing someone scream and then nothing. When you wake up you feel like a kid. Nothing hurts and you feel reenergized. Then a nurse comes in and asks for your name, birthdate, and who is the president. When you give your birthdate he pales, but when you name the president he nearly falls out of his seat. He presses the wall and ten doctors come rushing in. What has happened that you are now so healthy?
So those are my offerings this week. Does either one appeal to you? If so try writing your own prompt response. Until next time. Remember to read, write, comment, and like. Stay safe and well.

    Prompt 855 - Creative

Whose life are you going to read?

You wake to find an older man who is sitting at your desk, busily writing in an enormous book, between sips of coffee, and stroking his neat little beard. You ask who he is and he turns, pinning you with his stare. "I'm Destiny. I've never bothered you before, but now you have my attention." What have you gotten yourself into?

The past two months have taken a toll on me. There has been a lot of change.
11 years ago my mother passed. At the time I lived in Connecticut, but one call changed it.
Not even a year later my father called and asked me to move back home. He didn't want to be alone. I was 40.
Moving home seen the end of my dating, a rare night out every six months or so, and running to doctors for him or me. I had eye surgeries, a triple bypass, and felt the pressure to keep him going.
I heard him tell people I was lazy, stupid, and not helpful. My self esteem nosedived, but I put on a smile and did as needed.
This year he had nasal surgery on polyps that were growing. Then issues with his blood pressure. He took a fall in the bathroom and cut his head open. Two weeks later he woke throwing up blood. Failing kidneys, liver, retention of fluids, lung issues and more within his last weeks of life.
He passed on last Friday, 14 hours after being taken off life support. He was finally buried on Wednesday. I had to handle everything alone because my brother lives in a high covid state, Florida. The emotional drain has been enormous.
So for 10 years I have been the caregiver and my life has been on hold. I have to readjust how I view and do things. I can date. Who wants a broken down 50 year old?
The door closed and a whole wall fell. Once I can figure out who I am, maybe I can live for me again.
Sorry to ramble, just needed to vent.
