Wow! Welcome to November. Is it me or is the year just flying by? Well, it is now Friday, November the first. That means it is time for some new prompts.
    Prompt 796 - Creative
    Tag - The Heckler
You were doing your job and having a good day until he showed up. This man had a nasty comment about everything you did, the way you looked, and how you spoke. At first, you were ready to cry and just hide. However, something inside you decided it was time to give this joker his just dessert. What happened?
    Prompt 797 - Creative
    Tag - First Line
You found him asleep in the field, and somehow you managed to pick him up; stumbling on the uneven ground as you headed toward your car to take him home.
So these are something new to tempt you. Meanwhile, we finally had a taker on an older prompt. @Mikiesboy wrote an entry for Prompt 790. Read it and comment on it for him here - https://gayauthors.org/story/mikiesboy/onlyprompts/24.
Enjoy your week. Remember any prompt tale you write to link in the prompt forum. Until next time read, write, comment, and like. Stay well.

The year just keeps flying. I'm already looking ahead to Thanksgiving, mainly because I work in retail. So the prompts reflect that.
    Prompt 798 - Creative
    Tag - First Line
"So are we inviting friends or making it a family holiday?"
    Prompt 799 - Creative
    Tag - List of Words
Use the following words in a story - a fat turkey, a long table, a parade, a winter coat, and an apple pie.
So while no one did last week's prompts we did have someone do prompt 786. Take a look at @Jason Rimbaud's story. It can be found here - https://gayauthors.org/story/jason-rimbaud/story-prompts-articles-and-ramblings/4. Leave him some likes and comments.
'Til next week, remember to read, write, comment, and like. Stay well.

    Prompt 801 - Creative
    Tag - First Line
"You are what I'm most grateful for this year. "
So, I hope to see some fun prompt stories. Remember, if you do write one to add the link under the prompt in the forum. Until next time - read, write, comment, and like. Stay well.

First off my apology. I posted the blog and then forgot to post the prompts in the forum. D'oh! I went to look for those that might have done them and felt foolish. I promise they are up now and anyone who posts them, I will include with next week's prompts.
Anyway, time for some new prompts.
    Prompt 786 - Creative
    Tag - First Line
You watched as the water rushed into the cave as you tugged helplessly at the shackle on your arm; realizing high tide was starting to fill the space, dooming you to drown.
    Prompt 787 - Creative
    Tag - Super Power
Your parents are the two best known superheroes in the world. There is nothing tat they can't do. As their youngest child, hopes are high that you will follow with amazing powers of your own. Unfortunately, your super power kicks in the first time you kiss and your power is like no other and your parents don't know what to do. What is your super power?
Hopefully, something will click and people will take a shot. If you do remember to link your story to the prompt page.
'til next time. Remember to read, write, comment, and like. Stay safe.

Fall came in like a storm, summer shorts and tee shirts temps one day and boom autumn jackets and long pants the next. Leaves changing and cooler weather to bake in is finally upon those of us in the northern hemisphere. While dreaming of new things perhaps I can tempt you to write with one of the new prompts?
    Prompt 788 - Creative
    Tag - First Line
"Oh, damn, you weren't supposed to hear about that!"
    Prompt 789 - Creative
    Tag -  Lost Love
When you were just starting your teens you fell in love with the boy next door. However, barely after admitting it to yourself, he is kidnapped from his home and was never found. This event changed how you and everyone else in your town grew up and interacted with each other. On the eve of your thirtieth birthday a young teenager accidently runs into you and knocks you over. He stays to help you and when you see his face you freeze. Before you is your lost love, only he looks barely fourteen and you are turning thirty. What is the truth and is this your lost love back from the missing?
Still no takers on the prompts from the last two weeks. Maybe one of the new ones will appeal and get an author to pen a new tale.
Until next time. Remember to read, write, comment, and like. Be safe.

Well I'm off to recover from eye surgery, but I still have prompts for all of you. Let's see if any of these tempt you into writing.
    Prompt 784 - Creative
    Tag - Neko
You were busy tracking the crime ring that was trafficking in exotic animals. Finally having enough evidence, you and your team swarm in to arrest the crooks and save the animals. You never expected to find a beaten and half starved person in a cage. It isn't until you finally pull the semi-conscious person out you spot the tail and ears. These criminals had a Neko in their possession. While the rest of the animals are taken to local vets or zoos, a private doctor checks out the Neko. Because he isn't classified as a human or an animal, your superior simply puts you in charge of him. What happens?
    Prompt 785 - Creative
    Tag - List  of Words
Use the following words in a story - a muddy foot print, an old castle, a blue shirt, a library book, and a foul odor.
Well, there were no takers last week. Maybe one of these will appeal to a writer.

Another week has come and gone, yet I'm stuck here with a rainy Friday. Rainy days and Fridays usually mean I've got prompts for you. Onwards, brave souls.
    Prompt 780 - Creative
    Tag - Enemy Mine
The war between worlds has left both sides devastated. Chemicals released on by the warriors from both planets have caused major changes on the people, plants, and animals. With a little less than a fifth of both populations surviving, the remaining leaders attempt to make peace. Unfortunately, neither side realized that the chemicals released would alter the chemical make up to the point that everyone was now attracted to only their former enemies, and usually just one being at that. What happens when you encounter your enemy mate?
    Prompt 781 - Creative
    Tag - First Line
"Why did you hide this from me?"
Unfortunately there were no takers last week on the prompts. Hopefully, this week some soul will step up and take the challenge.
Until next week, remember to read, write, like, and comment. Stay safe all.

Hurricanes, storms, and more! Oh my. Sending out my best wishes for everyone's safety as we head into the weekend. Being Friday that means it is time for new prompts. Hopefully, something will strike your fancy.
    Prompt 778 - Creative
    Tag - First Line
Silence filled the room as he stalked his way toward me, literally tossing people out of his way as he bore down on me.
    Prompt 779 - Creative
    Tag - School
When the letter arrived informing you that you were invited to the local school of magic, you were hoping it would be like the movies or television series about magical schools. You forgot that things are rarely so straight forward in life. When you arrive there you find you are not prepared for school, magic, or your powers which began working as soon as you arrived. You are surrounded by werewolves, vampires, witches, warlocks, and more just at the school's front steps. You even accidentally set the cute blond boy's book on fire as he went to introduce himself in the school's courtyard. Just when you are sure things can't get worse you are introduced to both your new roommate who is Lucifer Morningstar's son, Damien and then to your homeroom teacher, who is the Arch-Angel Michael. What are you going to do?

Prompt 775 found another taker. @aditus has his entry here - https://gayauthors.org/story/aditus/prickly-prompts/7
Prompt 776 was attempted by @jamessavik. Be ready for some hard times as you read - https://gayauthors.org/story/jamessavik/getintojamesshorts/38
So hopefully one of this week's prompts will motivate you to write. Until next time remember to read, write, like, and comment. Stay safe all.

Wow. This week has been crazy, but we made it to another Friday. You know what that means? No, not a night out and no work tomorrow! It means I have prompts for you.

    Prompt 774 - Creative
    Tag - Doppelganger
It has been a long week and you decide to treat yourself to a nice meal. You spot this nice restaurant as you go home and decide to give it a shot. As you walk in the door the loud noise in the place becomes suddenly silent. You pause as you fear the place might be in the midst of a robbery. You notice everyone shooting glances at you and then toward the back of the place. Wondering what could be going on you follow their glances and find … yourself? Only your doppelganger seems completely different somehow. What happens when you meet?
    Prompt 775 - Creative
    Tag - List of Words
Use the following words in a story - a pair of glasses, a torn tee shirt, a cup of coffee, a crying child, and a slice of pizza.
So do they give you any ideas? Please feel free to share your stories on the prompt page.

We made it to another Friday. That is reason to enough to celebrate, but it also means I've come with new offerings for you.
    Prompt 772 - Creative
    Tag - First Line
The rain has been falling for hours, soaking my skin, and wiping out my tracks as I do my best to leave the pain behind me while I try to escape before anyone notices I'm gone.
    Prompt 773 - Creative
    Tag - New Day
You went with your friends to see the fortune teller that they had booked as a evening's entertainment. However, when the fortune teller spotted you she ignored everyone else and demanded your hand. It freaked you out a bit, but when she grabbed your hand you tore it from her grasp, catching your finger on her ring scratching it deeply. As you looked at her, a drop of your blood fell onto her deck, hitting just one tarot card which she immediately flipped over. When she looked at you she said, "It will all begin for you when you next awaken to a new day." Your body shook and you felt like a an electric pulse went through your body as you rushed outside into the rain. You left your friends and hurried home only to collapse into bed. The next day you woke to a whole different life. What happened to you on that new day?
So that is this week's new prompts., I hope one appeals to you. Until next week, read, write, comment, and like. Be well.

Everything about him is wrong. He is too much of an opposite, and you fight with him every chance you get when you do see each other. Prompt 768 - Creative
    Tag - The Arrow
The arrow lay on a pillow under glass. You remember it always being on the mantle of your grandmother's fireplace in her den since you were a child. No one in the family would tell you the significance of it, but it always fascinated you. Last week, you buried your grandmother and today, along with the rest of your family, you've gone to clean up and close down her house. As you walk into the den there is a flash of light and the arrow is suddenly embedded in your chest. What happened?

    Hello old friend.
It's just you and me now.
They are all gone, but their words repeat unending.
I hear their words, but they're long gone.
    I don't care, I love him, I cant stay, you're uncaring, you're worthless, you're unlovable.
    Hello old friend.
I have my plastic smile in.
Their shades haunt my days and torment my nights.
If you smile while you cut all ties they dont notice.
You're alone, you're unknown, you're unremarkable, they don't see, they don't hear, they don't care.
    Goodbye old friend.
The clock stopped, and no more alarms.
Each day a new pain, a new scar, a little death.
I curl up on your tombstone now.
Who is the frail figure? What does he want? Where are his friends? Why is he alone? How did he become this?
    Goodbye old friend.
I stand here one last time.
There are no tears or hugs for me. There is no warmth in this cold December. There is only hard acceptance in the end.

    Prompt 758 – Creative
    Tag – The Garden
The new house next door always seems empty but an incredible garden seems to be growing in the backyard. One day your curiosity gets the better of you, you open the side gate, pass through the mushroom circle, and begin to follow some stepping stones that lead to a path. As you walk through the path you see rolling hills, castles, and even swear that a unicorn was standing at the edge of the forest. It's May? It's May! The lusty month of May. Ooops, my love of Camelot and all that entails is showing. However, the year is just rolling along and we have reached the first Friday of the month and I'm here to tempt all of you with new prompts.
    Prompt 756 – Creative
    Tag – Given Life
Your family has always been a bit odd. You were never allowed to read fantasy, fairytales, science fiction, or comic books of any kind. You never watched movies based off books or cartoons. The shelves in your house were filled with National Geographic and biographies. Then one day your neighbor slipped you their favorite book. Fifteen pages in and the characters you were just reading about are suddenly walking through your living room. Your parents come running in and are horrified to find you reading something forbidden and now tell you the family secret, characters are given life if you read their story. What book were you reading and what happened?
    Prompt 757 – Creative
Tag – Deal with the Demon
You thought you had the perfect relationship, but they cheated on you or so you were told. Angry and upset you storm into the woods. After walking for hours you collapse and pound your fist into the ground and hit a rock. You slice your hand and blood drops to the dark soil. A moment later the ground erupts and steam fills the air. A demon stands before you and offers to make a deal partially sealed with your own blood. What deal do you make?
So did either one make you want to dip your toe in and write a little tale? Perhaps you will dive in deep and take both on? Remember if you do to share your response with all of us.
There was one entry last week. Mr Savik took it on. Read it here - https://gayauthors.org/story/jamessavik/getintojamesshorts/35#
Hopefully, we shall have new enteries next week. Until then remember to read, write, comment, and like. Enjoy your week.

Ah, another Friday has arrived! So has more rain and my grass is getting to be ridiculously high. That isn't a lawn as much as a rapidly growing jungle. Hopefully this weekend the sun comes out so I can cut it down. If not, well, I can always curl up and write something.
Speaking of writing it is time for some new prompts. Hopefully, I can tempt someone into writing something based off of this week's offers.
    Prompt 754 – Creative
    Tag – List of Words
Use the following words in a story – Amazons, an old church, a shredded shirt, an iron gate, and an ancient tome.
    Prompt 755 – Creative
    Tag – First Line
Blood gushed from the place where his finger had been torn off, but he didn’t seem to notice as he stumbled toward the body on the floor.
Maybe one of these will tickle your interest. If you did write something based off a prompt feel free to share the link below. Remember short stories should be part of a collection.
Until next time please read, write, and comment!

I have had a really hard time getting over a recent relationship.  I even have gone to therapy.
This weekend I was cleaning and my father noticed the boxes in front of the pictures I kept up from my ex. He opened it and found the rings I'd bought for us. He looked and noticed only one was engraved.
    "Why only one?"
I looked and spotted what he was holding. I swallowed my feelings. "Because mine was engraved with my promises to him."
He read it and walked out.
Guess instead of love and forgive I should have just left it blank. I've packed them and the pictures of him and his family away. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other.
  25. comicfan
It is April, it's rainy, and it isn't helping my mood.
Well, we are already a third of the way through the year. It seems I won't make it to June before hearing I need surgery like I have the last two years. Going to see my eye doctor about cataract surgery. Are we having fun yet?
I find a lot of my life is slipping into my writing. I'm doing my best to camouflage it the only way I can, but I think, at least in some ways, that is normal. Just doing what I can to get things done before deadlines.
This will be the first month that I am not sending out postcards. It is for varied reasons. One, I am barely being acknowledged by some. Two, I am finding it harder to see to write lately. Finally, it is just expensive. I wonder if people will notice.
Finally, there is something I want to note. It is something I learned a long time ago. Words have weight. They can build people up or tear them down. I try to be judicious with my words, but I've had reason to be. I've forgiven things people have told me are unforgivable. Yet, the same ones I've taken back countless times are the first to wound me fatally when I misstep. It takes a long time to heal, never mind trust someone again.  Remember words can build a bridge or forever isolate you. The choice is yours.
