Bill, that was the first thing I wanted to see the last time I went to Atlanta was where they were filming downtown. We had an awesome cab driver and he took us right to it :D It was so cool. But I don't think they will be using any of our real DC/Alexandria locations for when the group moves north

There's no way the group can make it to DC (aka the Alexandria community) without brining Aaron on the show. He's an important character in the comic. I was soooo super-fan-geek when I was reading the comics and the group is heading into DC and they have this Highway Road Sign in the comic, which is about 10 minutes from my house. It's also about 45 miles in the wrong direction ((west of DC)) but it was cool and I did let out a scream when I saw it. Has anyone else read the comics???

This past October, I had the best time working in a haunted house. It was a big production, professional make-up, costumes, blood and gore with strobe lights and fog. It was only for a month, but it was awesome!! I just got a call asking me to play a crazy killer for “My Bloody Valentine.” The haunted house is going to re-open for 1 weekend in February. Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th (aka Valentine's Day) Hell yes!!! Everyone tells me I’m crazy for loving this, but it is so much fun. If the haunted house was open all year long, I would quit my day job in a bloody heartbeat.

I lived in Washington DC for a few years without a car and it was liberating, for a while. Still had to buy commuter pass for the Metro and/or Bus plus Marc Train ticket which would add up. Also, trying to get groceries home in the cold-wet-rainy-snowy-dark was a pain in the ass sometimes, but I do miss drunk Saturday night rides on the Metro! LOL Diesel has dropped a little but not as much. Been watching the prices on that too and right now at the gas station up the street is $3.35 gallon of diesel. I have Ford F250 with dual tanks and it can quickly add up. Last time I filled up it was about $125.00 ((which is why it's been sitting in the drive way a lot more than usual ))

I got gas for $2.29 gallon this week in Northern Virginia. Not too bad. When we went to the beach over the summer, my kid got excited and pointed out a little old gas station with a sign for $1.09 a gallon. Then we noticed it was board up and probable closed for 20 years! LOL But it was a good catch. Teenagers don't usually notice things like that.

A great start, Rusty! Casey is a great character. For a young man facing such hard times, like the abuse he endures at home, he comes across very strong. It looks like he has a long road ahead of him. I can't wait to read more.

LOL-- well the kid is talking to me again. I've raised her since she was 7 days old. She's known me her entire life and I'm sure her sense of humor has developed because of it The kid can be quirky in her own right. I'm sure other parents, looking in wouldn't want her as their kid, but I wouldn't trade her for the world! She's told us, she is glad we're her parents.

I had toggled back and forth from Nifty to GA over many years only as a reader. At that time I wrote mostly Sci-Fi or Fantasy Fiction where the only "Gay" of the story was the author, LOL. I didn't want to share any of my "Gay Stories" which I had dozens of notebooks filled with because they were too personal and I was scared of being judged. I joined because I wanted to send a message to one author in particular, who sadly is no longer on GA. I'm glad I joined....I'm glad I've stayed...I've made some wonderful friends over the years!!!

That's really hard to limit to just 1 story. But over-all it would have to be Second Shot by Andrew Q Gordon. I was really surprised that I connected with the characters. It's a college age / sports / coming out and It's not what I usually read but it was so good. Very compelling and drew me in from the start.

Had to finish up some Christmas shopping, so the Kid and I hit the mall. Store after store and going to yet another store, she was a little irritated with me. She didn’t like anything I picked out for gifts and she was annoyed that I wasn’t taking it serious. “Could you be any more embarrassing?” Kid mumbled under her breath. ……...........….Challenge Accepted……….........…. I waited until reaching the center of the packed mall, crowds of people waiting in line to see Santa when I start screaming, “Oh My God! It’s Santa!!! Look, it’s him! It’s really him!!” Now was a good time to start jumping up and down and squealing like a One Direction fan girl, “Santa!!!!!!!!” Did I push it too far? Maybe when I shouted, “I can smell the gingerbread crumbs in his beard from here!!” I turned towards the Kid and said, “Yep! I obviously CAN be more embarrassing!” She stomped off in the opposite direction. Going on 3 hours now and she hasn’t said a word to me!
