  1. There were certain films we watched year in year out that now I'm sick to darn death of seeing: Mary Poppins, Wizard of Oz, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. But there are other films that I watched back then then I still watch now because they are classics and just so great. The Great Escape and The Towering Inferno.
  2. I'm not embarrassed to read a sex scene in a book, but it's got to be well written. I read all sorts of different genres, books with and without sex in them. If the sex fits in with the story then that's all that matters. I'm not one of these people who goes around burning books just because someone did something rude in them. Good writing is all that matters.
  3. I like everything about books: the look, the smell, the texture of the paper, the shiny covers. I love it when titles and author names are embossed on covers. Ooh, I'm getting excited just thinking about it!
  4. When something is really getting on my wick I'll probably start by moaning about it but I find that just makes it worse as I'm going over and over it. So whatever is doing my head in I'll write about it. I keep a daily diary and I will just write down what is annoying or upsetting me. I'll rant and rage on the page. I'll swear and call people names and curse them with the seven plagues of hell! I'll say in the diary all the things I could not possibly say in reality. I just get it all out of me. And then once it's all written down I'll leave it. I don't read back over what I have written.
  5. I could never choose. I'm a very materialistic person and I love my stuff and would hate to watch it all burn. If I couldn't save everything then I'd just have to burn with it. How could I go on after seeing my book and CD collection go up in flames? What about my computer? It's got all my writing and photographs stored on it. I couldn't watch years of worth go up in smoke.
  6. I don't like kids. I don't want them. Ever! I'm not the mumsy type. Never have been. Never will be.
  7. When I was a kid I never really thought about what I wanted to be when I was older. I'm a live each day as it comes and don't make plans sort of person. You make plans and stuff tends to get in the way so why bother? I always enjoyed reading and writing (everything about books) but I never really thought "I'm going to be a writer." It was just something I liked doing. I still enjoy it and it's the one thing that I've stuck with when others things I've given up on. I'm now a self published writer but if no one ever buys my books I will still keep writing them because I enjoy it. Though it would definitely be nice if people did buy my books. To make money through the one thing I really enjoy would be great.
  8. I'm a deep sleeper. I hardly remember my dreams and I could sleep through a bomb going off. I'm an early to bed early to rise type of person. I find it difficult staying up late. Even as a teenager I could hardly keep my eyes open in order to watch a late film on telly. Waking up is easy despite being a deep sleeper. I often don't need an alarm. I find that you can set your own internal alarm. All you have to do is while settling down to sleep think about the time you need to be up in the morning and repeat it several times in your head (or aloud if you want). seven 'o' clock, seven 'o' clock, seven 'o' clock etc. I did that when I was younger and it always worked. I'd set the alarm just in case but I'd generally wake a few minutes before it. Nowadays I find I wake up as soon as the sun is up. My days of lazing around in bed till dinnertime have gone. I'm literally up at the crack of dawn. It's hard getting up in the winter time though. So dark and cold. Urgh! Things like diet, age, drinking habits, illnesses, stress etc can affect your sleeping habits but I think most people are just hard wired to be light or deep sleepers.
  9. I'm a serious reader. Skimming isn't my thing. I start reading from the first page (I never read the last page first as some people do) and if the first few paragraphs are interesting I'll generally read all the way through. I know nearly straight away if I'm going to read the entire book. And I read everywhere: on the sofa, in bed, in the bath, on the bus. I prefer fiction to factual books. I love a good story with well rounded characters. I've read a few books lately that always seem to show up on those lists. You know the ones... "The 100 best books of all time." Stuff like Crime and Punishment, War and Peace, The Grapes of Wrath, Catcher in the Rye. I read through them all, struggling but determined to read every word but honestly I was utterly perplexed as to what was so great about any of them. I'd rather read Stephen King or Terry Pratchett any day. Much more interesting.
  10. Usually I have annoying tunes stuck in my head like that stupid song from the Go Compare advert. Argh! When it comes to what I like I enjoy all sorts of music. Yesterday I was listening to Paul Young, the day before it was Beverly Knight. I have quite an extensive CD collection. I have pop, rock, classical, soundtrack music and soul. I love the music of Bryan Adams and Russell Watson. I like Cliff Richard and the Black Eyed Peas. I have a fondness for bagpipe music! I can't sing or play an instrument but I love to listen to music, and I never go anywhere without my MP3 Player.
  11. I like all cats, large or small, but if I had to choose one to be it would probably be the leopard. A strong solitary animal with an uncomplicated life. Hunting and sleeping. Not a bad life. Though being a house cat would be quite good too. Twenty hours a day sleeping on a nice cosy bed and somebody to feed me when I'm hungry. A lovely lazy life. Meow.
