I'm glad to read you overcame the lethargy - I came here after reading your introduction to your poem. It's important for everybody to have other person(s) who can catch them. Despite your lethargy you were active - the poem speaks of your inner numbness but it's much that you decided not to go home because it didn't feel good at the moment, whatever the exact reasons. Okay, but of course you are right

As far as I know, traveling overland is less complicated at least with regard to filling out electronic forms. I think the social media question was on the sheet with the customs declaration that I got in the plane. Anyway, sorry: I don't want to worry anyone - all these things are doable and obviously much easier between Canada and the US.

I suppose it's only for us Europeans and I'd find it very strange if Canada and the US would make traveling too difficult for their respective citizens 😉 I'm fortunate enough not to have any social media accounts but still: these are many security measures, considering one has to fill out a very (!) thorough form (ESTA) with a lot of data (it also costs 14 dollars per person) before entering the US, in additon to the passport, of course. I've just wanted to write that it's not that complicated to travel to Canada but obviously I'm wrong, it's the same procedure (only the electronic form is called eTA; these are intergovernmental arrangements) - my husband went to Canada about 6 years ago and the passport was enough. Well, it's not that it really afflicts me in any way but still, it's a bit cumbersome (I love that word btw, hope it doesn't sound too wrong in this context - I try to expand my active vocabulary).

In case anyone is interested in such trivia: when entering the US, one has to mention one's facebook and other social media accounts. Fortunately, GA doesn't fall in that category but still I think it's a bit too much, and so was giving the exact address where I was staying several times...

That seems thought through very well. The mid-term elections in the US are discussed here too, of course.

That seems reasonable but I can't imagine that you just write anything, so perhaps it wouldn't be easy for her to explain properly why she thinks more than half of your posts are unsubstantial. At least you know you're not alone when other people of the course have the same problem.

Definitely; the 1 WTC is a highlight and a very aesthetic building. I also found the 9/11 memorial tastefully done, which must have been quite a difficult task.

I've never thought of that - of course it's problematic for a lot of people to get to the place where they vote. for being so committed to make people vote. It's possible to vote by mail here in Germany and many people do but now I wonder how many didn't/don't due to various reasons and would have used/use a ride if given that option.

I am kind of relieved that some of you sometimes don't know all the words tim presents here 😉 I could guess what it means because I know mordere but then I see some other words in the text below on which I have to concentrate when reading them. Hi Def *waves* Thank you for asking New York war phenomenal. I visited many museums: the MET, the MET Cloisters (I was surprised that the tickets are valid for 3 days in a row for non NY residents, so I used that opportunity), the New Gallery, the MoMA... and I think I was extremely lucky to have such a good weather, so I wandered around in Central Park, China Town (the one in Manhattan and the one in Flushing), Brooklyn, South Ferry... I was surprised by the amount of parks and greens in the city, not only Central Park but also so many others. And although the newer scyskrapers aren't always that imaginative with regard to their architecture, I loved the ones from the beginning of the 20th century, a time which is so often decisive in the formation of the nowadys so renowned art etc. collections. Btw. food seemed rather expensive to me at the supermarket, now I understand what some of you here talked about a while ago. I mean I saw that you get much better prices at small grocery shops or in Chinatown but wow - here in Germany, the big supermarket chains have more or less the same prices in all areas, I buy not only there but the quality is definitely okay and I'd say the prices are low compared to the supermarkets I saw.

Hi all, I just wanted to say hello - haven't been here for some weeks and I found the new DiC which was obviously just created. I hope you are all fine. Oh, and I saw the kitchen tool mentioned, you know @Mikiesboy and @BHopper2, THE kitchen tool with the almost magic qualities. Soup in 8 minutes sounds great... I did a pumpkin soup myself this evening 😋 (which needed longer in the normal pot, of course). So: Doms and subs, writing, reading and food. It seems that all the important themes that belong here have already found a place. And unfortunately waking up at 4:00 am. Have a good night soon and sleep well today ❤️

As I still have to read more of your work, I had the impression that there aren't too many spoilers in it; it seemed more like a glimpse of what I can expect. Yes, it is a bit mad - but I bet it was a lot of fun to write and I suppose now you have the feeling that Eros is watching over your shoulder when you are writing 😉 I love the divine advice: "Just go with your gut instinct, listen to your editors, and you will be successful". Looking forward to reading more from you but this scene really works just as it is

I'm a bit late but it makes me profoundly happy to read that you are happy. You really shine. And as always, you are able to pour your feelings into a beautiful poetic form. I hope the second poem shines its light on your friend, too.

I love these - poetical bird studies, that would indeed be a fitting description. Three different groups of birds and your own thoughts, that forms a great unit ❤️ I like the way you combine these, and it's also quite a surprising poem. Although I'm pretty bad with bird names (and flowers...), I love watching them, too. There are numerous places where sparrows feed from your hand in many cities (I still have to try out that one), I saw that on vacation, too. They can seem pretty brash but that makes them so cute 😊 I don't have woodpeckers on my balcony as far as I know but perhaps I simply missed them.

Thank you - what a cute video. In my opinion, most people are afraid of how similar we are to some animals and also of the fact that in general we humans are some kind of animal, too. And every animal has emotions; even if the way they utter them isn't always similar or even difficult to recognize, they have. This is both so true. I didn't have a dog on my own but my aunt had, a wild and energetic and also so gentle crossbreed (<- hope that's the right word) - a saw her quite often and we loved each other to pieces. She died more than 15 years ago but I remember her as a family member.

Thank you for giving insight into your life. I think it's empowering for everyone who reads it because you were brave to leave behind what felt wrong and do what felt right, even if other things might have seemed more practical in the situation. I think it can help other people to realize that their intution isn't something that should always be dismissed but be at least taken seriously. You were a strong person then and are now

I second what tim said - I wonder if we are projecting our own thoughts into their face or if it's a universal language. Perhaps something in between? I've seen that you have 2 (?) dogs in your album, how wonderful!
