  1. Thanks for another great comment Steve and some good points about Daniel and Don, who as you point out we haven't heard a great deal about. The paragraph with Sue, I suppose does put into perspective how far Robbie has come from the early days when he wouldn't allow Sue anywhere near him. It's taken him 6 months to get to the stage where he's beginning to see himself as a part of the family and not an outsider, but he has moved on. A little way to go yet and there are a couple of little twists before I can wrap it up. Thanks again for a great comment.
  2. Yes, you're right, Daniel has been quite distant lately and also before the accident. He has also dropped a fair number of hints to Robbie. Thank you for your comment.
  3. Thank you for your comment and your kind words and notes on the story.
  4. Interesting view. Robbie and Nicola share a lot of traits and are both quite headstrong which is one of the reasons why they clashed. I think that there's always going to be some friction between them even when they're being nice to each other. So far Nicola has been the one who has shown loyalty when the chips have been down and rushed to help Robbie when he's needed it but not the other way around yet. Without doubt. Younger brothers or sisters excel at this sport.
  5. Thanks, JayT. Will Daniel insist on having his own room now? Good point, we will have to wait and see how it plays out. Will he stand up for Robbie like he did for Nathan? If it was just a case of Robbie coming out, then almost certainly, but when all is revealed to him, he may not feel much like standing up for either of the boys.
  6. Hi SolarMaxx. I hope that you're not too hungover to read this, but I'm really pleased that you're enjoying the story and I appreciate your nice words. Thank you.
  7. I suppose Jimmy was the visitor, but there will be more coming up, considering Robbie is going to be housebound for a while. Daniel though, holds the key.
  8. Sue made us my favourite pancakes with maple syrup for a late lunch and I won a bet with Nathan over who could eat the most, but nearly choked on the last one. Trying to laugh with a mouthful of pancake and maple syrup running down my chin was difficult, but I somehow managed to survive with a healthy slap on the back and the occasional mouth to mouth. Nathan was sitting next to me; too close I think for Sue’s liking as she tried to keep a watchful eye on our antics from the kitchen. My emo
  9. Charlie is a bit of a handful, but if anyone can handle him, it's Roger. Thanks for the comment, Magicstate.
  10. Yes, it seems to be a really confusing situation, all is revealed next week.
  11. Yeah, Andy is from another story, although I'm not quite sure how he got involved in this one. You're quite right, it's Roger who's telling the story. Thanks for the comment.
  12. I watched Charlie cut across the grass from his house; he was running at full pelt, as he tried to keep pace with the school bus. We left him behind, and a few heads turned, including mine, to see if he would make it to the end of the road in time. He was late, but the driver must have seen him and he pulled up early to save him the final fifty yards. Charlie was a fast runner but he was handicapped by an oversized school bag, which he cradled in his arms as if it were a football. He boarded the
  13. Everything is not what it seems, as the ever-popular Charlie, tries to persuade his best friend Roger, that it’s time for him to lose his virginity.
  14. Thank you for your comment, Albert. It means a lot to me to read this. Unfortunately, my research came from personal experience so all I had to do really was to write it down. However, I guess that it's a place, as you point out that we all must pass through at some stage. Also, this chapter is as far as I've managed to get so far with the re-editing, so if you're planning to read on, the next few chapters, I should warn you, still need a bit of work, so please bear that in mind. Thank you so much for your interest.

    Chapter 1 Arrival

Thank you so much, Albert, I've been re-editing the chapters recently and correcting some of the punctuation mistakes, but I've only got as far as chapter three at the moment. Just to let you know. I think that the early chapters needed a bit of work. Thanks for the kind words and appreciation. I hope that it manages to keep you interested.

    The Brat

Good point this needs a bit more research. I'm no plumber so thanks for the info, I'll probably be changing this.
  17. Thank you, Dark as always for doing this. Some good questions here and thank you, to Mann, Parker, Tim, and W_L for some interesting and honest answers. I love being able to peek behind the scenes and see what drives people, how they work etc. and how they fit their writing in and around their normal lives. I can't get enough of this feature.

    The Brat

Haha, I kind of thought you'd say that. I admit that TP is very loosely based on the juvenile delinquent that you're talking about. I had to change his nationality to protect Canadians. I apologise if this offends any of my friends to the south, but we, unfortunately, are stuck with the real one. I think that 'git' is too nice for him. It's more of a friendly insult. Bob is definitely a git. Tyrone is more of a four letter git. Thanks, as always droughtquake.

    The Brat

Thanks, it's been a long time between chapters I know, but the rest should be quite frequent now.
  20. “Oh my God, who the fuck are you?” he said, “did you just swim here or something?” I recognised his face straight away, he looked exactly the same as he appeared on TV, although I usually switched channels whenever I saw him. ‘I don’t believe it…Tyrone Spencer’! He was one of the most recognisable faces in pop music at the time and you would have had to be living under a rock not to know who he was, yet his name never entered my head when I was putting together a list of potential
  21. Thanks, SolarMaxx. It would be nice and Sue has proved a few people wrong as has Nicola, but Robbie isn't quite out of the woods just yet!
  22. Ouch! I don't think that I could be that cruel to do something like that. It would have been interesting but you guys would never have forgiven me. Thanks for the comment Jeff.
  23. You're right, Sue did use the word 'we' quite a bit but that's no guarantee that Don is going to be reading from the same page. Thanks for your comment and for reading the chapter twice! I hope that it was because you enjoyed it and not because it was difficult to understand. I know that sometimes my writing tends to ramble and stray off-topic, which can be confusing. I have tried to address this lately and I'm always working on ways to improve. Oops! There I go again.
  24. Thanks, JayT. I try to keep up as much as I can with you guys, but it's not easy and I'm usually about a day behind everyone else here. Better late than never I suppose.
  25. Thanks, Wenmale. You're the only one so far to mention Daniel, but I think that his reaction will be pivotal and Sue must have already been thinking of ways to handle this because it won't be easy. Fingers crossed.
