Another fascinating and gut-wrenching chapter. One thing: I think, judging by your definition of "masochist", that you meant "sadist" instead. A sadist gets pleasure from inflicting pain on others. A masochist enjoys having pain inflicted on themself.

This was a gut-wrenching chapter. I really empathize with Ghor, who is far more noble and steadfast than anyone suspected.

This is an extremely satisfying story. I can hardly wait until Chapter 3! How Aethan and Ghor manage to work out their differences will be a complicated and prolonged story, I'm pretty sure. And it wouldn't surprise me if the approaching storm destroys the prison completely.

What an interesting development! So most of Vash's carefully laid plans for Aethan's survival have been forestalled. It will be interesting to see how he adapts to the penal colony.

So now Aethan is on his own. At least Vash died knowing that he had fulfilled his promise to Aethan's mother. May he rest in peace.
