  1. Current writing projects: "Lonely at the Top" - a follow up to Ladies' Man otherwise known as 'Whatever happened to Nathan Cole' and an as yet unnamed thing with pirates, generally inspired by the latest Alestorm album 'Sunset on the Golden Age' Other stuff: Raising Wolf and MUSH! are both "on hold" until further notice, because of lack of time, inspiration, and shouting. Generally the characters yelling loudest get first dibs, like Kieran and Robin did, and there are no dogs currently yelling for me. I 'plan' and I use that word very loosely as you know, on a few more American Songbook tracks soon, because come spring I will get an injection of new music and my attention will be diverted once again, I'm sure. of course it'll probably all go wrong and i'll start some new serial for you all, but who knows?
  2. Best gift received: Cris got me a half day personalized one on one butchery course, in which I will learn to take a pig apart. I hugged him really really hard under the tree. Best gift given: box of girly goodies I helped make (thank you YouTube) for Cris's mum. It had orange tea, fancy chocolates, I made lip balm, orange exfoliating hand scrub and orange and mango butty butter. She loved it and got all excited and giggly. the only girl in the family deserves to be spoiled, after all, she managed to produce a bunch of geeky boys!
  3. as a follow up to the Christmas season and the thread I start on the giving and all important wrapping of gifts: what was the favourite thing you got this year, and why? what was your favourite thing you gave to someone, and did they love it as much as you hoped? **Note: this thread is NOT designed to be a place to boast about all the cool things you got, it is for giving thanks to the person/people who gave you the love and happiness it represents - even if in all likelihood they will never see it.

    Chapter 8

happy new year Gary! Ashlee waltzes to his own tune sure enough. I'm sure the rodeo will be able to handle him.

    Chapter 8

thanks very much!I understand your concerns about the rodeo, but 'small town' as it might be they are only 1/2 hour outside of Austin, so it's not that much in the middle of nowhere - which isn't to say that there might be problems... but that would be telling. Ain't nobody going to jail today though.

If Clem found the time to wash his truck (again) then he certainly managed to change the sheets!

apologies are for the weak!Clem is nervous about the rodeo too, but I can't blame him - I'd be nervous if my date was Ashlee too!

Madison - and i'm sure she will. At least Clem has someone to talk to about boys now!

    Chapter 8

“I thought about you all afternoon y’know.” “Glad to hear it,” Ashlee purred, “I didn’t distract you too much did I?” “Sure, I nearly sliced my thumb off on the mower,” Clem joked. Ashlee, of course, panicked, and the big farm hand calmed him down with the phone cradled against his ear. He’d been given the middle of the day to drive to Austin and back to have his lunch date, but to compensate Clem had bolted his dinner and gone back out to the fields for an extra couple of hours. They’d cut t
  14. depends - are you going on the Harley in just your boxers?

    Chapter 7

thanks very much! Romance and realism aren't so bad to aim for. I think you might be right in your assumption, though I'm not saying anything.
  16. Thank you very much. I am so glad that we have had you along for the ride! I look forward to hearing from you again.
  17. I'll totally swap with you. Forest - check! Snow - check! Wildlife - check!
  18. ohhh... would we call him repugnant? Nathan did bad things, but I'm not sure he is fundamentally a bad person. Warped, but not evil.
  19. I live in the middle of a field in Sussex, England. Ideally I would like to live in a larger set of fields which I would own, either here, or somewhere in British Columbia. Horse, sheep, a cow, ducks, chickens, pigs... rabbits and pheasants to hunt, deer to shoot. The theme is still the same, I like living in a field.
  20. I am not showing this to my husband, because he will instantly transform into his uber-geek shape and I won't understand a single thing he says. But it is very funny.

no talk yet - they've not got as far as their third date!Mrs. Riley is her name. I'm sure Malik will get around to some good natured teasing eventually.

there's always dead time depending on the season - especially if you get up early and work late! (as you predicted)
  24. isn't "greedy" one of the themes this time of year?
