  1. As always, great story, Carlos.
  2. Nice story. The trope has been done before, but I liked your take on it. I was waiting the whole time for the zombies to stand up. Guess it was not that kind of story. Another thing that surprised me, was the positive atmosphere. In spite of the three dead housebreakers, there really wasn't much drama or angst. Usually these types of stories are darker, and there's a lot of people thinking about all the bad stuff. Anyways, thanks for the catching story (and the hunky Spaniard ... I'd like to hear the guys here pronouncing the surname )
  3. Sorry it's already done. You can make suggestions for part 2, I'm having trouble with that
  4. That night we were in bed, in each others arms, enjoying the nearness. The fact I had to leave had been on my mind, but I had avoided addressing it. We were just too happy to spoil it with open-ended questions and what-ifs. But as the moment neared, I had to confront the fact, and take action if I didn’t want Germán to disappear from my life. “You know I’ll soon have to leave for the colony.” “Yeah, I know.” I heard, and noticed his body tensing up. “I don’t know what I’ll do when you’re gone.
  5. Our morning run had slowly been evolving into a hide and seek game. Germán was much fitter than I was, and tended to get bored running with me, so he began running around me, into the woods, coming back after a moment, taking me by surprise. I always tried to find him before he jumped out of the bushes. So the battle of wits escalated, him using his modifications to surprise me, and me using my training, and tuning the sensors with Lisa. I admit, most of the tuning was done by Lisa. Germán was
  6. Glad you're enjoying it. It's good to know someone out in the big Intertubes appreciates the effort The next chapter is already programmed for Monday, hope you like it too
  7. I see you have already read chapter 8. The first part ends with chapter 10
  8. The moles were slowly, and carefully approaching the chamber. My experience told me, I couldn’t simply open a hole on the wall, and walk in to take a look. Everything had to be planned with great care, so as not to destroy any possible findings. I had been preparing everything for the big moment, and talking nonstop about it. Germán surely was the most patient person on the planet, listening to me for the umpteenth time about what would happen, what could be inside the chamber, and how I’d becom
  9. Before I could react, Germán took my arm, turned me around, cradled my face in his hands and kissed me delicately on the lips. I don’t know if my jaw fell before or after the kiss, but I picked it up fast enough to ask dreamily, “I don’t understand.” “Then I’ll explain it to you one more time.” And he kissed me again, but this time he opened his mouth and let his tongue play with my lips, slowly and sweetly, asking for entrance. His arms surrounded me, searching for more contact with my body.
  10. Carlos, you are an evil, evil man. Come sit by me. This chapter was outstanding. Really nicely done, and very dynamic. Short scenes, hopping from one to the next. It works. Are you really going to drive over a thousand miles on your bike? On purpose? You must have buns of steel, man. I hope you enjoy your time in Washington, and come back with lots of energy and ideas to finish this story.
  11. There is a Spanish saying: "None so blind as those who will not see." Sometimes it is easier not to take the risk (especially when your self esteem is not too high). Anyway, it's out there now, no way back. Let's see what happens
  12. The next day, the Matrox 6000 had already finished Germán’s new clothes and some other stuff. “Thank you so much for the toothbrusher. It’s really top notch. My old one was half as good. Oh, wow, these clothes look really good.” On top of the pile was a beautiful blue t-shirt, with a slight iridescence, and a complicated drawing of a lush tree in blue and green tones, creating a changing, moving scape of light and shadow, as if the wind was blowing through: the kind of expensive looking t-shir
  13. Another great chapter. I liked the wedding: simple but meaningful. In the web page of Jared Lang, the shirts look really good. Good taste. And I won't mention the model there, not at all.
  14. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. Lisa is an AI that sits on Diego's head. You are the first to mention the influence that Star Trek has had in the story. Yes, the food, and most anything, can be "printed" or generated. The society (at least the core of it) is a post-scarcity economy (that I call post-abundance in the story). That was inspired by Star Trek. Hope you enjoy the rest of the story too.
  15. I really did sleep well. It took the help of a five-fingered massage to get there, but it was deep and with some nice erotic dreams, where my visitor was the main character. I woke up feeling on the top of my game. So I got up, got out and began my morning tai chi with weights. Lisa adjusted the wrist and ankle bands to optimize the workout, according to her. According to me, it was just one of the thousand ways she had to torture me. Shit! The pyjamas are going to fall off. * Lisa, you’ll h
