Matt and Will alone in Hawaii, with Zach, Wade (and possibly JJ) scheduled to join them a few days later...could be the perfect set up for that embarrassing hook up (and some long overdue drama!). ;-) Looking forward to the stop in Chicago, another opportunity to vicariously visit the old hood.

Thank you for another lovely chapter. I love the juxtaposition, for Matt, of new beginnings with closure...and an old flame thrown into the mix. Can't wait to see where this is going!

Very entertaining story. I enjoyed the mystery format and was definitely surprised by the revelation at the end. Looking forward to the sequel.

No idea how to reference the conversation in my last review, but I definitely think Brad and/or Steph should be left stranded in Chicago on March 31, 2003, and have to fly (heaven forbid!) commercial to get home. I expect epic ranting would ensue.

I had to check whether Meigs Field was operating in 2002. My faulty recollection was that it was closed temporarily post-9/11; however, it looks like it stayed open until Richard M. had it surreptitiously bulldozed in March 2003. Thanks for brightening up an otherwise grueling week with a really entertaining chapter.

It always astonishes me how slowly things moved prior to the most recent centuries, and how imprecise communications and travel were. St. Vincent is seriously ill so George is dispatched to retrieve him with a departure date two weeks hence. He embarks on a journey of several weeks with an unclear destination. Meanwhile, St. Vincent has taken matters in his own hands and headed in the opposite direction, resulting in a random and quite improbable encounter. On the other hand, I'm still not sure how we ever managed to make plans without cell phones.

Thank you for giving us a Will chapter. I missed him. But, poor Will! Zach's closet was bound to slam shut at some point, but did it have to be so soon? :-/ Btw, I'm curious why you started labeling your POVs. I don't think they need it.

I haven't read the Hornblower series, but I have to admit I'm glad you decided not to prolong his sojourn in the Bridgemont oeuvre. It would have been a somewhat uncomfortable foray into fanfic,of which you are currently skirting the edges. Nonetheless, this was an entertaining chapter. I do love how George plays dress-up with his junior staff, albeit within the confines of His Majesty's uniform code.

I love Brad and Wade together! It makes me sad that every chapter with the two of them together is an ending. I also have to agree with Miles about Will's self righteousness, especially after the recent meddling episode. He one of my favorite characters but definitely fell a few notches here. Minor editorial comment: I'm not sure "sleuthiness" works in this context, as it is less about hiding than seeking. Maybe "stealthiness"?

Poor Brad. No matter how ready he becomes, it'll be really hard to get past the awful, Eastern European porno kisses if he wants to be with Ben.

I really like this story but am having a bit of trouble remembering all the characters. Would you consider posting a family tree, maybe marking which ones are human?

By the end of 9.11, I was hating Matt as a character, but you have managed to redeem him (somewhat). I kind of hope he gets another chance with Wade but won't be devastated if he doesn't. Btw, as places to live, Chicago is awesome! Evanston, IL, is less so...Steph's usually impeccable taste is definitely a bit off there. I love the Brad/Ben story line! Looking forward to seeing where it goes.
