Since this book has so many new characters, I thought Christmas was the perfect time for a family reunion. Ritch's in Colorado, CJ and Owen in Mexico City, Grandparents in Miami, Brett and Cesar traveling a lot... Let's see what kind of shenanigans I can engineer for the guys.
I've tried to use varied excuses to describe some of Mexico City, and the dads visit was one of them. During my one visit to Mexico City more years ago than I want to remember, I didn't know you could climb to the top of the monument so I never did. Oh well, I had CJ do it for me instead.

I tried to show Ambassador Cox giving her staff a lot of leeway. She did with CJ when he first made a splash in the news, and with Northman by mostly ignoring his little jabs and petty actions. However, when necessary, she'll step in as she did in this chapter.
CJ's a product of his fathers. They've taught him how to treat everyone with respect regardless of their wealth or social status. I think they'd be proud of how their kid has turned out.
Why is it readers always want to play matchmaker with my characters? LOL
A dinner party's just another venue for CJ to meet new, interesting people who may once day help him reach his goals.
Thank you, my friend. Glad you liked the book. CJ's 16 and has a lot of life ahead. I want him to be the type of person who continues to grow throughout his life and who learns from whatever he experiences, good or bad.
CJ's actions will earn him supporters and detractors. Some, like Northman, will try to pull him down, but our man has enough allies to help him deal with the jerks.
I discovered the connection between Bond and the parade while researching. I always try to infuse my stories with local flavor. As for CJ being posted to Cuba, give him time. LOL
CJ will trust and respect people until they cross a line. His mother did, and I don't see him forgiving her anytime soon. As for Ritchie, you want more? I'll give you more soon enough. LOL
One of my best meals in Mexico was in Monterey. The area is famous for cabrito and I enjoyed the hell out of it.
As for CJ and Owen, we start with two men raised eating different foods who wind up living in an international city. Now that they're back in DC. I'll have them return to favorite spots, try trendy new restaurants, and visit Washington classics.
I wanted them to own a professional sports team for a while, and when Major League Rugby came to town, I saw my opportunities. It was a reasonable investment in something they were both familiar with. The game not running a team. LOL
