I probably went above and beyond what I originally envisioned when it comes to the military. Even though CJ doesn't serve, I surrounded him with people who did. Even though they had to remain in the closet for a long time, gay men often used the military to escape small minds in small towns.
The books named after seasons I considered part of a longer one encompassing all 4 installments: CJ in DC Year 1. In case a reader was getting bored, I figured a cliffhanger would bring them back for at least one more chapter.
Excellent observation. The conflict between the brain and heart when it comes to personal relationships is nothing new. There's also being blind to something everyone else sees.
CJ's loyalty to and care for those close to him will become legendary. He'll have special connections with each of the guys he surrounds himself with. Chipper will be extra special since their personalities dovetail with each other well.
I thought CJ would look at whatever happened with Owen as a typical summer romance (it IS the Southern Hemisphere LOL) For someone his age, it has to be flattering to have an older, hot man so infatuated with him.
As with most teens, his actions will vary. His temper will flare up verbally at times, and at others physically. Dawson was lucky CJ was behaving himself.
While researching the visit to the church, I discovered the Anglican Church in Australia is more orthodox than in North America. I assumed not everyone wearing a clerical collar would agree with those positions entirely, so I made my priest a little more liberal. Obviously, I crafted that sermon to fit my needs.
Brett has shown he can be overprotective. In this case, the fact Owen's age is in between his and CJ may complicate matters. Let's hope he sees the light and doesn't go all Marine Corps on the two youngsters.
I think I was too subtle in my comment; my sarcasm didn't come through. Let's retry this:
I need to visit this part of California. The lake, the lava tubes, the cliffs one can find oneself HANGING from...
Having my guys read Embers, allowed me to feature the story without mine turning into shifter fantasy. I thought it made sense. WolfM fights fires in Australia, then turns his experience into a shifter story using Brandon as the stand-in for the author.
