Cesar was always gay. CJ's mother took advantage of him while he was drunk. That's described in the first book. Ajax Karalis is also bi. He's the guy Chipper plays with in NY. And with the girlfriend too. Cousin Randy and Ty were involved in a threesome with a chick, but once she returned to Russia, I've not mentioned them having sex with other women. Maybe they do, maybe they don't. Marco Rubio and Paul Ryan I painted in a fairly positive light. CJ's objection to both was based on their stupid opposition to equal rights for the gay community. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen would have had a bigger presence in the story had she not retired. All of CJ's grandparents are Republicans. So's Brad! Yeah, Will's straight, but more straight characters in a story about Air Force cadets seemed appropriate. I did not want to turn this into another one of those stories where everyone's straight and two minutes after meeting a gay man they're on their knees. Will and his parents are registered Republicans. I'm sure I'm forgetting some. And even though my niece vociferously complained, I've had CJ and the dads trash Bernie Sanders or his supporters. If you look at most electoral college maps, Republicans control the smaller, landlocked states and Democrats rule in larger more cosmopolitan ones. That's where CJ lives and I want him to mostly reflect his community. Hell, Georgia, Florida, and Texas may soon turn blue. I'll continue to trash show both sides, but CJ's definitely a social liberal even if he has some conservative views. People who vote a strict party ballot, without regard for the actual candidate, disgust me. No wonder our country's so polarized. I keep looking for a Republican CJ can support, both Ileana and Marco were candidates for that, but I'm constantly disappointed. As much as I dislike her father and most of her positions, Liz Cheney may get a positive representation at some point. Not so much because she stood against Trump and his coup attempt, but because she had the balls to think before paying allegiance to the fuhrer. And if I write for long enough, I do have something outlined about CJ working closely with a Republican White House.

I've now read this chapter a minimum of three times. Each time, my heart beat goes up. Those descriptions of the flames, winds, and flying embers had me panting. Good job, dude.

I mentioned this before, elsewhere. I use Australia in my stories, and the place burns down. Same with Northern and Southern California, and Colorado. Anyone have a bully or despised person they'd like me to use their place as a setting?

Hmmm... I would self-publish, but most GA-related self-published books I've looked at suck. Why do some writers think they can put makeup on crap and it'll make it look better? I'll stick to trying to get more chapter and story likes and comments.

About that... You may have to wait until the next book. Ritch has to report back to the Academy, and that means he won't be around to discuss the matter.

At least we know a bit more now than at the end of Hail to the Chief.

I want to write a dog fight, but I need to wait until Ritch can be at the controls. It'll be part of my efforts to provide updates on those who've already had their own story. A couple of times I mentioned Ritch having model airplanes in his bedroom while growing up. I think he could identify planes the way some people recognize cars with a single glance.

@BlueWindBoy I love the fact you pay attention while reading. Some want to get to the end so fast, they miss the subtleties. Sucking the air out of the city was but one of the interesting events that day. The stupidity of exaggerating the crowd's size because Orange's ego couldn't handle having a smaller one than a black man's was another. I mean a smaller crowd. I just read what I wrote and want to ensure everyone I'm not referring to smaller hands. The scarecrow claiming it was all due to 'alternate facts' blew my mind. Every wine I mention in the series is produced where I say it is. I have Mr. Google to thank for that. I also had to google Ziva David; I've never watched a single episode of that show. I enjoyed writing about CJ's visit to Israel. Some of it was based on experience, a bunch on the internet. Interestingly enough, I'm about to mention another trip to Jerusalem in 2027. Maybe I should have him meet with Mossad agents. Grandkids you say? Let me see what I can do about that. Some pictures I posted directly and a series of software updates messed them up. Other I posted a link for, and those may be gone. Tell me which ones you'd like to see and I'll try to find them for you. I'm a chronic planner and often drop hints of what I've outlined for the story's future. That was the case with Martin's Tavern. The fact I've had a couple of meals in the place made it easy. I would make a big deal out of a road trip between Vail and Colorado Springs, but its only a couple of hours. Ritch does put a few miles on Heinrich in the next chapter.

Awesome. I keep trying to balance military and personal aspects. Did anyone notice this chapter's the beginning of Ritch's third year at the Academy? I'll have a little personal stuff next one and maybe I'll include something to show how he's developing as a leader.

Diaper use is real. I had Ritch refusing to wear one and relying on the absorbent gel at first. Someone advised me that was probably not realistic for a rookie.

Funny thing is no matter how much I read about the Air Force and the Academy, I end up wanting to learn more. I can't wait until we can safely travel so I can fly to Colorado Springs. Doesn't matter if this book will be over before that, chasing down knowledge is always fun.

LMFAO You like stirring the pot, don't you? I shouldn't have removed Ritch's line about how it took a REAL president to care enough about his people, he'd call a State Department official to express his concern. Of course, I could also include a line about 'preppy-ass" Trump supporters who denigrate the service of women in the military. Republicans already lost Will Bender in 2020, I think the party's about to permanently lose the possibility of Ritch ever supporting them. Maybe I'll fix those oversights in the next book

Blame CJ for any cliffie-like stuff. I mean C James, not C Junior. I'm still traumatized by Circumnavigation. Due to atmospheric condition, shrinkage was pronounced in Alaska, Ritch's missile refuse to fire. In Key West he was at a gay B&B, his options were limited. As for CJ and Owen, you have to know I'll revisit that trip from their point of view, so we may get to see what they do while Uncle Ritch plays in the pool with Liebe.

What are you talking about? I described the Russians approaching Alaska (Sarah Palin waved at them) and the Norwegians 'shooting down' Fitzpatrick and Peterson. Not enough drama for you?

Some readers may not know what we're talking about, and since my previous use of @Parker Owens characters Michael and Blaine has led to at least one person reading Predator Pray, I'd like to highlight what story I stole the name from.
