Miranda needs to talk to somebody. The closet's not a good place to make rational decisions in. -

From you, I'm not surprised. I tried to make even the Academy event fun. From Ritch's point of view, obviously. LOL -

Happy Sunday! Miranda will probably calm down. I think ice cream could help. -

You're welcome. Two chapters posted so close together again will have to wait until the end of the book. -

Double standards for men and women are alive and well. Many women face them every day, and the military often aggravates the whole thing by not taking their complaints seriously enough. -

That woman's wound up so tight, I'm surprised she hasn't explored. Most cadets Joel's age are going to have rocking bodies, Joel I see as being extremely handsome too. Being cute's a requirement for being gay, right? -

You're welcome. This was part of the previous chapter when written. It was so damn long, I found a convenient breaking point, but was left with a very short chapter. I figured it would work as a mid-story bonus. And we're definitely midpoint since Ritch only has two more years left at the Academy. -

My pleasure. If it didn't take me so long to get chapters ready for publishing, I'd do it more frequently. -
Ted Kennedy was so damn polite the couple of times I spoke to him. When he came to Miami for a fundraising dinner, my ex wouldn't allow me to pick Kennedy up at the airport. He feared I would bring up a certain bridge incident when I drove across the Miami river. CJ's picture wall was inspired by a client of mine. Much older attorney, he'd been a big shot in Havana and his office wall was covered in the same way you describe. The ones of him with Franco and Batista made me bite my tongue. How about looking for something just south of Lincoln Park? I spent some serious time poring over DC maps. Thought about Kalorama, but Obama had just moved there and so had Jared and Ivanka. Too much too soon for CJ. I almost slid off my chair laughing so hard. If I get around to it, they'll tackle Anacostia at some point, but with affordable housing. Me, foreshadow? There may be an easter egg or two in the series.

I'd been looking for the opportunity to add a lesbian as a recurring character, and Miranda gave me the opportunity. Of course, recurring depends on her getting her shit together and talking to Ritch about it. -

I hope y'all don't mind a second chapter so soon. It's short and lets me finish up Ritch's year 2 at the Academy.- 44 comments

Three cabs dropped the group off in front of Club Yucatan about an hour before midnight. Just inside the door, CJ pumped a fist in the air. “TEQUILA SHOTS!” His shout was drowned out by cheers, as the cadets followed him and Owen to the nearest bar. “Bro, you buying?” The smirk on Ritch’s face made Owen laugh. “Mate, I think you can afford to buy. But fine, we’ll pay for the shots and the first round.” The group crowded around Owen and CJ, shouting their orders. One bartender h

@BlueWindBoy Roar Somewhere over the rainbow --- Hunting Season As time goes by Goodnight, my angel Ripper Christmas Hail to the chief At that point, check with me. Timelines overlap and some events are included in multiple stories in the spinoffs. The best order in which to read them is the same I posted them. The ones starring Colton and Tony can be read at any point. They take place in 2013/2014.

I became eligible Monday and conveniently had a doctor appointment scheduled that morning. She gave me a letter confirming my cardiomyopathy, and suggest I head to one of the local hospitals. An hour later, I had my first shot of the Pfizer vaccine. Surprised the heck out of me I could just walk in. -
You put me in a quandary. I could give you great responses, but all would involve disclosing future events. Like telling you the family does end up with a beach-front vacation home. Ooops, see what happens? South Beach already floods during most high tides and so do coastal neighborhoods in Miami and other cities. I think there's a new bill in the legislature authorizing money for climate change mitigation. Florida's tourism and real estate industries are concerned and have been pushing.

This friend of mine has big difficulties dealing with isolation. We haven't talked this much on the phone in the 10 years we've known each other. One more vaccine shot and I'm ready to risk the world. -

ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!! I already told my niece I'd be heading to Atlanta in May for her law school graduation since I'll have both vaccine shots by then. Haven't been out of town in over a year. If things calm down a bit more, I may head to Colorado Springs to check out the Air Force Academy over the summer. The inability to travel has bothered me more than having to wear a mask or avoiding eating inside restaurants. -

Between weather and the pandemic, people are wanting to travel. Hotel occupancy around here has skyrocketed. I may have to hit the beach this week to check on all those spring breakers. -

@Buz No such thing as too long a comment. Particularly when they're thoughtful ones like yours. For readers being exposed to the extended family for the first time, the way Brett and Cesar approached the subject, would make them think of thoughtful parents. For long-time readers, I wanted to show they learned their lesson after the prenuptial agreement fiasco when CJ and Owen were planning their wedding. One of wingnut's definitions is a crazy person. It's also an old, derogatory name for Air Force personnel. Sort of like jarhead for Marines. Benefits of ownership. Buy and interest in a restaurant, and you too may get a similar offer. There are plenty of examples of wealthy individuals, particularly 'old-money' like Brett's, who've funded incredible organizations. Hell, the Smithsonian was created when a Brit left his money for that purpose. In the present, people like Bill Gates and his foundation have focused on health care issues. Only the utterly selfish or those who lie about their wealth fail to share their good fortune. I have faith Americans will survive one despot's attempt to dismantle our democracy. Won't be easy, and it may take until someone like CJ gets elected, but we WILL get to a better place.
