Thanks, Tony. I'm always surprised (pleasantly most of the time) when younger guys with 'daddy' issues hit on me. All I did was exaggerate some of the lines aimed at me in the past. If Cesar thought the Beemer was cramped, he's in for a surprise next chapter.
I tried to make Miles a slightly more sedate version of C&B. I wanted their personalities to mesh well since Miles will pop up again in the future. Did you see the message I sent you yesterday? I responded to an old comment of yours.
Extremely entertaining. Well thought out and well written. Loved the social commentary and the fact the ending's loose enough for readers to decide what comes next. Almond-shaped, aquamarine eyes may be in store for all of us.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who deviated from their writing style when it came to this anthology.
Thanks, bud. Glad you enjoyed it. If you want to read something more representative of my style, try Malibu. I posted the third of nine chapters this morning. Although the protagonists and a few of the supporting cast are recycled from a series, the story stands on its own. I included enough detail to ensure reading the entire saga they were spun off from would not be necessary.
LOL - The main thrust of the story was the twist in this chapter. It was tough limiting the entire thing to a short story but the last thing I wanted was for it to become a saga.
“Nope. Not acceptable.” César was unhappy with his husband’s attire. “Change.”
“What?” Brett stared down at what he had put on.
“You can’t wear that. Change. Jeans and Chucks are okay, but wear a dress shirt and your sports jacket.” He had stepped out the door to drop the room service breakfast tray in the hallway, and returned to find Brett in flip-flops, cargo shorts, and a t-shirt with a rooster and Stop Staring at my Cock on it.
“Why? We’re not trying to impress the asshole.”
Thanks for giving it a chance. Not my usual fare, but I've been toying with this idea for a while and decided it was time to share it. The origins trilogy may be my last attempt at fantasy/scifi, I'll stick to writing in the real world.
Damn, Fergus sounds like a hard ass. He took a mate to stop gossip and his seconds are bachelors. Can we expect furry, homo, sex?
So the difficulty humans have in becoming wolves explains the first chapter. If all these events take place in the same geographic area, someone may be in trouble for biting the guy.
I've definitely focused on the younger set as they've moved from their teens to their early twenties. And although this story can be read on its own, the events will percolate through other tales in the same world. Hopefully, my small blurbs about prior events will enlighten readers who've not read the CJ series.
Thanks, Jeff!
Mythology's not my best subject to write about, but I needed to get this one and the sequel out. Been thinking about them for like 5 years. As I just told someone, I'm itching to write about the fires in Australia, the pandemic, and Black Lives Matter protests. Hopefully soon.
I don't think I've seen the sun for a week. Yesterday and today mostly rain free but overcast. Heat index in the same range as yours. This is usually August weather when locals curse up a storm.
Where you channeling Clemens Samuel?
I think I have some of the history figured out and one future thread, but I have to admit it's all pretty flimsy. And knowing you, I'm probably way off mark.
What a week, glad I finally found time to read.
Mankind may do it by damaging the environment. Fires in Australia and intentionally set ones in Brasil I fear are the tip of the spear.
Not sure, I may have to ask The same guy I pestered with questions before. Maybe comfort? Less chance of getting tangled up in pants? It would definitely be cooler under the stump sock and the bindings.
Hope you don't mind spending the next few weeks around them. Their two weeks in California turned out to be interesting enough this turned from my planned short story into a novella once I started expanding my outline.
