  1. I think by now it's safe to assume Owen's sticking around.
  2. I'm pretty sure by this point readers have figured out CJ's life will be anything but ordinary and that politics will be part of his future.
  3. Current Members John G. Roberts, Jr., Chief Justice of the United States, ... Clarence Thomas, Associate Justice, ... Samuel A. Alito, Jr., Associate Justice, ... In the years since I wrote this, proposals at sporting events have become a thing. Some teams sell special packages that include seats, refreshments, and time on the big screen. Ty doing it at Wrigley Field was not the first time it happened, though. As I mentioned in another comment reply, I was inspired by a similar proposal at Dodger Stadium.
  5. By giving their son a car and a trip to Australia, Brett and Cesar may have spoiled CJ. He'll probably want to do something significant for milestone birthdays from then on. Let's see if 18 surpasses 16.
  6. Alex Honnold has inspired me to hang from a cliff now and then. LOL I wanted a varied conversation so we talked about food, wine, sports, politics, and who knows what else I didn't detail. Honestly, I could have written more on the sports front, but I figured a lot of readers would get lost. I did enjoy reading up on how NFL contracts work. From Flying Circus, we know CJ's elected Washington's mayor as a Green. A lot easier to win in your hometown with plenty of contacts, good name recognition, and almost unlimited funding. Once in office, as the Greens most visible elected individual, CJ will be able to take over the party and reshape it into a more centrist organization.
  7. Good recall! I did say I planned to use meal gatherings frequently. In this story, we had one at a restaurant and one at Everhope. In the next story set in Washington, I'll do the same. Dinner at a restaurant and brunch at home. I'll feature a new DC resident coming from California, a visitor from one of their friends in Mexico City, and a Squad member leaving town. I think future binge readers need to follow the order of the CJ stories, then branch out to the spinoffs. Considering I'm writing what I really want to write, there'll be further trips in the time machine.
  8. The one shot was a male justice and not referred to as Chief Justice. Kinda narrows down who I wanted dead first. Let's see if at some point I can get rid of one or two more.
  9. Yep. LMFAO
  10. Thank you, Al. I was ambitious this early in my writing experiment, but you can sort of see my approach to telling stories. Particularly my (and my characters) love of road trips.

I was there only once and it was for the same reason CJ went: I wanted to experience an institution. As for Liz, her trip was somewhat inspired by Make A Wish. I figured after chemo she deserved a treat.
  12. Kids his age are resilient but need support. CJ, Owen, Brett, and Cesar will provide it in spades.
  13. Glad you enjoyed it. And we're off on another CJ summer road trip.

Brad needed someone to slap him around, and CJ cared enough for him to start it off.
  15. You just made me think they found a condom in their cake.
  16. Thank you, my friend. Seven more sleeps.
  17. Being around 60, Barack and Michelle are significantly older than their hosts, but I've always seen them as bridging differences easily. The fact CJ and their oldest daughter are the same age and quasi-friendly probably helps. I think the pictures are only along the first flight of stairs, the walls leading to upper floors are empty awaiting CJ and Owen to rub elbows with new glitterati. I expect the one with Will and Kate to be up there before the end of the year. It might even take over the spot Bradley Cooper has now. I hadn't thought of that. A crazed gun rights advocate shot your character and mine was shot by a lycan? LOL Calm down, people. Nowhere do I say my shooter's a crazy NRA person. Although he is from Texas. Ooops, did I say that aloud? Bad Carlos. You're not supposed to give stuff away like that.

    My Lucky Day

Straight people sometimes don't realize how personal it is to come out and how difficult it is particularly at that age. Thiago will return and Harley's the type of friend we all should be lucky to have. He's, loyal, fun, and non-judgemental.
  19. Maybe? LOL You and me, Tony. You and me. In today's political climate, finding level-headed individuals is difficult, but I have to hope sooner or later things will calm down. Of course, shenanigans will always be involved. There have been, are, and will be shady characters on both sides of the divide.
  20. CJ can be manipulative and take advantage of circumstances to advance his goals, but I don't think he'd knowingly do anything to hurt anyone else. Unless his family's threatened. Owen's bought into his husband's goal of elected office and will back him all the way to the White House. He'll continue to cultivate individuals he finds interesting (Chef Jose Andres for example) and those people will reward his good deeds.
  21. I rarely use random name generators but did in this case. I wanted something that wouldn't hit at who I originally named. The fact it called to mind the Dred Scott decision didn't bother me. It may have actually influenced the final choice. I love using obscure references; been waiting for the right spot to have someone pull a Judge Carter disappearing act. LOL The Obamas come across as down-to-earth people who know where they came from and haven't forgotten their roots. They're easy to write and I think mesh well with CJ & co.
  22. I like the speculation; it tells me I did something right since people want to know more. I have so many damn threads in the series, it takes time to deal with all of them.
  23. Tom and Doc will be recurring characters throughout the entire series, even if their appearances will diminish as I concentrate on CJ and his crew. I'm actually considering bringing back at least one of the cops in a future story. Nothing even outlined though, just the idea it might be interesting to revisit them.

LOL I think I'm done killing people off for a bit.

Readers clamored for Ritchie to be with CJ from the moment I introduced the kid. It took a while but I had to let it happen naturally instead of forcing it.
