  1. I'm getting the impression you like it when I write sappy scenes. LOL

    October 2014

Glad I could cheer your day, Albert.
  3. Brad took a cue from CJ and stood up to a bully. My first time in Boston was as a sophomore in college when a bunch of us went to the Head of the Charles Regatta. I din't get to do half the things CJ did. LOL

Mr. Rupple's inaction was discussed in previous comments; the consensus was he was there as an advisor encouraging students to learn on their own. He only steps in when absolutely necessary. Although I write happy stuff, I also try to be realistic. There's no way all those stories showing couples always in agreement track with real life. It's not the first time and show Brett and Cesar arguing, and it won't be the last.

    Summer's End

Thanks. I try to include a little education in my stories and the annual physical gave me a chance to discuss HIV a bit more.
  6. Thanks, Albert. I may have written a few more speeches by CJ. LOL Just wait until he gets involved in politics for real.

    Local Hero

You and Brett. He might be 30, but the Marine's still a teenager at heart. You can take the surfer boy out of Southern California, but...
  8. In the story currently posting, CJ makes the avocado soup for guests at his house. I haven't made it in ages. Not sure if you read the comments, but the concert experience was pretty much a recounting of mine at the same concert. My buddy and I rode our motorcycles to it and had a blast. Including the friendly stranger offering us his THC-loaded vape pen.

    GMA VI

Thanks, Raven. You know that old adage about birds of a feather flocking together? It obviously applies to these guys. They're all individuals but share enough similarities to bring them together. I enjoyed showing them being trashed one night and spiffing up for the following one. Had I been as drunk as they were, it would have taken me more than 24 hours to recover. Then again, my 20s are far behind me.

    Rocky Ground

A year in Washington has done wonders for CJ's confidence. It's not the last time he lashes at someone with words instead of fists. Owen's family's well off but not in the same league. I think it shows his good character he's not interested in benefitting from someone else's wealth.

    Hungry Heart

They seem to be getting along and will spend considerable time together when back in Washington. You'll have to wait to see what happens.

    The Promise

BTW, locations are real and @WolfM used some of the same ones in Embers. And his description of navigating those stairs while carrying kilos of firefighting equipment strapped to his back left me thinking I had it really easy doing it while wearing sneakers and a hoodie.

    Worlds Apart

Ooops, those three subjects may pop up again in the future. Including politics in the series lost me a few readers but gained me more. Just wait until you read the comments when I write about the 2016 presidential election. LOL
  14. It won't so much end as serve as a lead into CJ's last two years in high school. Walls has been one of the most popular entries in the series.
  15. LOL I think our little horndog has definitely been watching too much porn.
  16. So, CJ's not me, but we have some things in common. Milwaukee's a city I've enjoyed visiting and tried to bring some of that to life. For any motorcycle rider, the home of Harley-Davidson is a place to visit at least once. And if you haven't check out the museum on YouTube. Pretty sure there are several clips of those wings in motion.

    High Hopes

Thanks. I tried to capture what would be of interest to a couple of 16yo guys. Part based on personal experience and part on what I observe.
  18. Link updated. Thanks. And of course it's going to be a good ride. A road trip in a Jeep's bound to be.

    We're Alive

Glad you found your way to my stories and are enjoying them. There's a lot more to come.
  20. Thank you, Albert. I used the letter as a way of highlighting what CJ had gone through his first year in Washington. It felt appropriate to do so as that part of his life comes to an end. I know therapists often encourage patients to write things down, and hopefully, that letter will help him see things a little clearer. I danced around CJ's feelings by showing his reactions and it was time to explain how he felt about it all.

LOL Welcome to the further adventures of Boy Wonder.

    This Life

I've always tried to show CJ learning from whatever mishaps I put him through. NYC's another chance to benefit from experience, but I don't think it's something he'll get over quickly or easily.

    The Fuse

I think show don't tell is a lesson all authors should take to heart. It's not always possible, but it should always be our goal. Thanks, Albert

    Higher 12

I like my version of Captain Proton better. Blame Kwan for the tat and its location.
