In the story currently posting, CJ makes the avocado soup for guests at his house. I haven't made it in ages.
Not sure if you read the comments, but the concert experience was pretty much a recounting of mine at the same concert. My buddy and I rode our motorcycles to it and had a blast. Including the friendly stranger offering us his THC-loaded vape pen.
Thanks, Raven.
You know that old adage about birds of a feather flocking together? It obviously applies to these guys. They're all individuals but share enough similarities to bring them together. I enjoyed showing them being trashed one night and spiffing up for the following one. Had I been as drunk as they were, it would have taken me more than 24 hours to recover. Then again, my 20s are far behind me.
A year in Washington has done wonders for CJ's confidence. It's not the last time he lashes at someone with words instead of fists. Owen's family's well off but not in the same league. I think it shows his good character he's not interested in benefitting from someone else's wealth.
BTW, locations are real and @WolfM used some of the same ones in Embers. And his description of navigating those stairs while carrying kilos of firefighting equipment strapped to his back left me thinking I had it really easy doing it while wearing sneakers and a hoodie.
Ooops, those three subjects may pop up again in the future. Including politics in the series lost me a few readers but gained me more. Just wait until you read the comments when I write about the 2016 presidential election. LOL
So, CJ's not me, but we have some things in common. Milwaukee's a city I've enjoyed visiting and tried to bring some of that to life. For any motorcycle rider, the home of Harley-Davidson is a place to visit at least once. And if you haven't check out the museum on YouTube. Pretty sure there are several clips of those wings in motion.
Thank you, Albert.
I used the letter as a way of highlighting what CJ had gone through his first year in Washington. It felt appropriate to do so as that part of his life comes to an end. I know therapists often encourage patients to write things down, and hopefully, that letter will help him see things a little clearer. I danced around CJ's feelings by showing his reactions and it was time to explain how he felt about it all.
I've always tried to show CJ learning from whatever mishaps I put him through. NYC's another chance to benefit from experience, but I don't think it's something he'll get over quickly or easily.
I set up Sean's appearance by having Brett make a phone call before CJ headed to NYC. Papa may have relaxed a bit, but he's still going to keep an eye on his boy.
I'm jealous of guys like CJ who felt secure enough to come out in their teens. I may have fumbled around as a youngster, but I didn't come out until later in life.
Brett took care of the greedy sod. If the guy resurfaces, he'll have to contend not only with Brett and Cesar but with CJ too. That might not be good for his health.
I think he's thanking me for leading him to the story. I borrowed Brock for one of my stories and he's now part of the CJverse. His son started at Georgetown University last fall. LOL
Short train. You know, short like Brandon, (Carlos ducks)
BTW, Isn't Captain Proton that Malmstrom Air Force Base guy Banner Hoyt hangs out with? The one with the hydrogen atom tattoo on his dick?
