Thanks, Parker. I mentioned I was trying to include all the Squaddies in the first few chapters and I drove my editor crazy. The first chapter had a bunch of different scenes, but mostly revolved around the trip to Wisconsin. This one was really all over the place. I might have been able to break it into 3 or 4 parts, but then I would have had to add filler and I hate to be overly verbose (I'm sure you've figured THAT out HA!) I'd rather do what I did with Thiago, lead up and understated revelation. Additional details I can provide later and I will.

Well thought out scenario. What happens is Damn, the censors intervened...

I haven't had pizza in a couple of weeks. But then again, my favorite pizza probably doesn't qualify as pizza. California Pizza Kitchen Thai chicken. You can keep the ice cream, two spoonfuls is usually enough for me.

Keep it down, I don't want Myr to find out we cuss and discuss politics in the comment section LOL

Is it too early to register for the baby shower? Two handsome, wealthy, studly gay men pushing a baby carriage around DC sounds like such a cliche... LOL

Damn! I know they've talked about kids, but they just got married. Considering CJ has two years left of school, do you think they'd be ready to have a baby?
-
Lots of options for those two. What're we having for dinner?
-
@Defiance19 Hope you're taking it easy. The bagels we ate that Sunday, I picked up at the same store. I did stick my nose in the bag to enjoy the aroma LOL A baby does make things interesting, let's see what she decides. It's all up to her. If Owen approved of the wine, we're golden! I thought you'd like that bit. BTW, sorry about the bad info. The boys will be back in NYC next chapter and that's when they'll be at the Friars Club. Can't you see an older CJ becoming a member?
-
LOL You're not alone. I've impatiently waited for their return too!
-
Thanks, tim. Trying to keep it fun and interesting.

Fast forward and other options are not available for this content. Ozzie claims Thiago's the most level-headed squaddie; the man's approach to Nadine's pregnancy confirms that observation.
-
I tried to frontload a lot of the events, future chapters may not have as much drama. Who the hell am I kidding? A little more will be revealed soon.
-
Thiago's plans will be clear after the next chapter which surprisingly has a wedding. I will not confirm or deny the presence of a shotgun. Ethan's in New York, Chipper in Miami, Brad somewhere overseas, and Patrick in Boston. The others are still around, but their coming together as a group will not be a regular occurrence. Life gets in the way at times.

Excellent concise summary. We find out about their decision in the next chapter.

Fridays it shall be from now on, although I reserve the right to post and extra chapter mid-week now and then. We got an update on Ritchie and Harley last chapter, this one we catch up with Ethan, Patrick, Tank, and Thiago. I tried to give each Squad member a scene or two in the first few chapters. Next one we get to hear from Chipper.

You nailed it in your comment on the last chapter. I hope he ended up with a solid one to bump on CJ's head if he's too much of a pain in the butt. I can't do Springsteen on Broadway justice. I saw the show in April and thought it was so good I had to include it in the story. Catch it on Netflix if you get a chance. Oh, and my seats weren't as good, I was to the right of the seats I describe. I did not pay 5k for them!!!! But Steven Tyler was there the night I went.

Do you have moderator powers? Did you get to read the chapter before it went live to the public? LOL

@Will Hawkins As long as I'm alive and GA's up and running, I'll read and if possible reply to all comments. No matter when the story was first posted. This is even more so for CJ ones. The kid and his cronies have wormed their way into my heart. Although my writing has hopefully improved, my style has not changed a lot. I like to move things along, and I often leave some things to the readers' imagination. Thanks for the praise, and I hope you enjoy the journey; it may be a long one since the 12th book in the series began posting this week.

CJ ripped the goggles off, shielded his eyes against the sun with his hand, and stared upwards. Harley landed a few dozen feet away; his goofy grin hinted at how much he enjoyed the experience. CJ shifted his attention to Owen. The instructor appeared to stumble. Instead of taking a few running steps, he came to a sudden stop. Owen put his hands out to break the fall as his diving companion pushed him toward the ground and landed atop him with a thud. They rolled on the field for a moment and th

Harley's changes as he grows up will be subtle, but they will happen. His motormouth, however, I'm keeping.

Authors, how do you reply to comments by readers?
Carlos Hazday replied to Aceinthehole's topic in The Lounge
I write and people read. We're even. A comment by a reader means they took an extra step; I like balance (I'm a CPA) so I feel the need to reply. While working as an accountant for a large firm, we were asked to reply to all messages within 24 hours. I try to do the same with comments. If I didn't want the interaction with readers; I would post elsewhere. My replies vary from a simple acknowledgment, to teasing, to proper explanations. It all depends on the comment, my mood, and the moon phase.- 42 replies

@spikey582 Subtle? Moi? I tend to use a sledge hammer! But you are correct otherwise. 😁 Did you notice how they sounded like kids back then?

What's this cliffhanger word everyone keeps using? Ju know English not my first language... I seem to recall you making a comment about starting Walls off with a bang when I had a tiny bit of drama in the first couple of chapters. Just trying to recapture the magic so I can get you to comment. I so enjoy it when you do...
-
Thank you! The wait won't be too long.
-
Cliffhangers? I'm unsure what you're talking about... Excuse me while I go change the ending of the next chapter.
