    Silvio

I alternated high-drama chapters with calmer ones, and I think it worked.

    Fernando

And now and then, they're so juicy I keep them around. LOL It's why I had him make an appearance in CDMX.

    Epilogue

Pern's a favorite and I truly enjoyed @Mawgrim's take on them.

    Act II

My first tattoo was a dolphin just below the waist, since then, I've had a couple more inked on my right arm. I've had a character swim with them in the Red Sea, and a pod chase a sailboat on the Med.

    Act I

I've tackled the project twice, and both times I was disappointed with the results. I think it was because I rushed. Maybe the third time's the charm. I do have at least 4 other stories in mind. Maybe during my next CJ break. Thanks for reading and the interest, Johnny.

    You're younger; your memory's better.
  7. CJ and Owen will be at the opening night reception this coming Friday. https://dcist.com/story/23/05/03/the-next-immersive-experience-at-the-national-building-museum-worldwide-cities-recreated-in-legos/
  8. Aside from magnetic characters and magnificent action, one thread runs through all of the author's stories: self-knowledge. The main characters, whether they realize it or not, are on a journey of discovery and acceptance. By getting to know themselves better, Ethan, Chris, Brandon, Trevor, and others, experience moments of lucidity when it comes to who they really are. Higher Education gives us action, wonderful locations, and a man who at last realizes there's more to the world than vanilla; little banana ice cream can be just as tasty.

    Chapter 21

It was so hard to keep my mouth shut about Shannanon during the San Diego scenes. A summer of experimentation and revelation has helped Trevor mature qnd maybe become pi kier with who he hangs with. The growth will serve him well in the future. I'd love to read a one-chapter short story reuniting the gang. Maybe a Christmas story (hint) Great job my friend.

    Brock

Not quite a spoiler since his coming in second was mentioned/alluded to in the Mexico book. BTW, if you've not read it, give Baked Beans a look. I stole the character from Jack Scribe's short story.

    Eddie

How did you like me making Eddie a walking stereotype? LOL A few readers have a soft spot for Brett.

    Yves

Glad you liked it. Purple Flame Winery and it's people will be featured again in other stories.

    Greg

When I introduced Nalbo in Singer, he was disliked. Now he's despised. LOL

You read about CJ confronting the museum guy in CDMX, but this was his initial appearance. @WolfM and I came up with Ethan as the name for our characters independently. Hell, I can't remember if I'd met Wolf when I created him. Considering I have over 500 named characters in the series, and very few are repeated, the chances of my character and somebody else's having the same name will keep increasing.
  15. @Unlimited Possibilites Thank you! I have no idea when I'll start writing the next installment, but so far I have outlined the 4 remaining stories covering the summer of 2022. I'm currently doing the same for Graduate School. That one covers 2022-2024 while CJ's back at Georgetown. It'll cover stuff previously mentioned in a couple of spinoffs, CJ making new contacts, and his eventual nomination to be the US ambassador to Cuba.
  16. @JACC Picking those two actors to represent CJ and Owen was a great move. I've been lucky after writing them for 7-8 years, they still work.
  17. I loved writing a story with Brett and Cesar as the MCs. I think you'll like this one.

    Local Hero

Although I'm certain CJ-like individuals exist, they're probably rare. Counting our CURRENT blessings, at least we don't execute people in the US for their beliefs or lack of. There's some truth to religion being the opium of the masses.
  19. You'll be happy to know Ritch gets his own book. Cadet tracks his 4 years at college.

    Rocky Ground

Two steps forward, one step back. I have faith the pendulum will swing again. Although hatred will always exist, I suspect the 2028 election cycle won't be as horrid as this one.

    The Return

    Thanks, Albert.
  22. Brad's hanging in there. As soon as CJ's story catches up chronologically, we'll get even more details on him.
  23. I've dated a few military men in my life and the experience colors my writing. Like CJ, I never served, but I'm thankful to those who have.

    Sightseeing

The Hotel Nacional's still around; I didn't use it on purpose, wanting the flexibility of describing a hotel not as well known. The casino was renowned and supposedly run by the Mafia. When were you there?
