  1. After readiing this post and calming down from my laughter, I have to say the unofficial score is: Goat -1 Shadowgod - .5 Didn't have the time to go back and compile all 243 posts. Steve P.S. the .5 for having a name.
  2. Wow, am I ever glad that I had a free evening tonight. Checked the forums and saw eight chapters posted of a story that I hadn't come across before. You had me hooked after the first chapter, and craving the next chapter after the second. I have to agree, didn't take long to get familiar with all the characters and who they are. I now have another story that I'll watch to be updated in the future. Thanks, Steve
  3. Yikes! Had to double post. Couldn't leave my number of posts at 13. Bad number d
  4. Another excellent chapter!!! Well it looks with me included, three votes not for a motorcycle accident! Great minds must think alike :graduated: (or fools seldom differ ). But after all, you are the author, and what you choose is the best outcome. I still would like to see the story continue, suggested title could be "LIS The College Years". Either way, keep amazing us with your writing and I for one don't mind the cliffhangers, they let me imagine all the different outcomes for a week or so. Steve
  5. Well, I'm not too big on change, so I would guess no pill for me. Hell I even have trouble changing my hairstyle, imagine changing your orientation. Yikes!! Dom brings up an interesting point in: Really, isn't this what has been going on since the onset of organized religion? Isn't it everyones right to judge and be the judge of everyone else in the absence of God in the here and now? Funny how everyone has an opinion and wants you to do what they want...in God's name. Anyways, before this turns into a full blown rant, let me just say that you all are invited up to Canada. Besides, the winters are a little bit more cold, so you need to find someone (I'm free!!) to keep your warm.
  6. Hey Steve! Another excellant chapter, thank you sooo much Hopefully there isn't any pressure on you to post "every" week on Thursday, as I'm happy to read chapters any day of the week, and grateful too. I always try to keep in mind that you authors have lives too outside of writing for us. Somethimes I'm too busy to read a chapter, so that gives you the right to be too busy to write one. Don't forget that!! As far as the chapter goes, hopefully Matt's dad realizes that it is not always a political death sentance to have a gay child. We only need to look to Dick Cheney for proof positive (did I just put a plug in for Cheney?? ) Considering I'm not even american, guess I shouldn't comment there. I was very happy with Matt's statement on the street in front of the house. It reminded me of the first time that I ever was kissed (yes, by a guy ) in a public place. It felt soooooo good. At the time the intial reaction is "Did anyone see or hear", then it quickly turns to "Who gives a f*&k, damn that felt good. Well it will be interesting to see where Matt's dad goes with this, and to see how far he is willing to go to destroy Jacob for his own selfish intrests. Thanks again!!! Steve
  7. Okay Viv, I have a pressing question for you, and maybe you can help me out here. In 23 you state:
  8. Once again Steve, you allow me to go to bed tongiht with a warm fuzzy feeling :mace: inside. Great chapter, can't wait to see what happens next. Steve

    I

Yikes! I'm a one with nine wings Guess I have a few extra wings to share with others in case your in need of them. Wait, that was what the description of a one was, always trying to "reform" others as well as myself. Pretty accurate all in all. It was kinda fun to see a description of myself, which really are pretty generic traits. I'm sure if I read a six or three, I could find things in common as well. Kind of like calling the psychic hotline Still, a great way to waste ten minutes.

Well, before you jump in and think the pump is the "cure" for you, there is a few things to consider: 1) How many blood tests do you do a day? 2) How does your body react to the humalog? 3) How often does your daily activity amounts change day to day? I have been a type 1 for 34 years of my 38. I have seen technologies come and go over the years. A few years back I was looking into the pump, and the above three questions helped me decide on not getting it. My answers were: 1) On average, 2-4 blood tests a day, more often than not the two I HATE taking blood tests, been doing it since I was nine. The other thing to consider is if you are only doing limited blood tests, don't fool yourself into believing that you'll suddenly start doing more. I have increased them numerous times, but always revert back to what I'm most comfortable with. 2) When on the pump, you basically go on a short term "fast acting" insulin. If the Humalog doesn't work for you as it is suppose to, them you may have to explore other insulins, but your limited to about three. 3) If you have basically a sedintry lifestyle with ocasional large bursts of energy, then the pump isn't the way to go (my adult life the last 4-5 years). As you know, too low blood sugar (hypoglycemic), is very bad, and very dangerous. The pump works on a program, which you will have to adjust frequently. I wouldn't say don't get a pump, but saying you should really analyze why you have gone from type II to type I. I wouldn't want to see you spend the $1500-$3000 and about $250 a month on supplies if it doesn't fit your lifestyle. I do have a few friends who do have one, and works great for them. One plays hockey 3-4 times a week, so shouldn't interfer with the rollar coasters. They are about the size of a pager now, and the butterfly needle and shunt are pretty secure. So, there is my two cents worth, but once again, don't take anyone else's word about it. Only you can decide if it is right for you, and if you actually can adapt to the changes that you will have to accomodate to use one. Best of luck. Steve
  11. YIKES!!! Now what to do?? As sure as I get up every thursday morning to find a paycheque in my bank account, I check to see for an updated chapter of LiS on Thursday night. Steve, would you recommend waiting to the end of this rewrite before checking out Failure? Believe it or not, your wishes will be my command Steve
  12. Welcome Tiff!!!! I'm a huge fan of Jumping, and extemely happy to see that you have choose to post here. Unfortunately being just a "reader", I don't jump around the forums too much and didn't realize that you were here. Every two days I check that other site to see if you have posted a new chapter, as I have been reading Jumping for quite a while. I can hardly wait to see more. Steve (definitely Crew and Hiro for my choice)

Myr, no need to ask for forgiveness. As you can see, I don't post much at all. I am "coming out from hiding" and want to let you know my feelings. First of all, I have been coming here for a couple of years, but decided to finally become a member when I was sure that I really wanted to be part of this community. I really come here for the enjoyment that I get from reading your stories and many of the hosted authors as well. I also enjoy some of the e-fiction, and follow a few writers from there. I guess as I look into more of certain individuals beefs about story content, theme, rules, and how they would change it, it makes me wonder why they don't do what I do. Every time I come across a story that I don't enjoy, or if I tire of a theme, I stop reading it. I move onto to something different. I have added posts of my praise, but don't feel confortable knocking someone down who most likely putting their heart and soul into their posts. I guess some people will always hide behind the excuse that they are trying to "help" someone by critiquing their work, but to them I say, move on, find something you like Myr, you have provide a forum for anyone who chooses to be part of this community, and for me I personally am grateful for you dedication, hard work, and perserverence to make this a place for people like me, who come here to read and enjoy a diverse community of writers. In the same breath, if you, your committees, the authors need a break, I will respect your decisions. I will be saddened, but know that eventually you all will find the spark that got all of you going on this journey. My only suggestion would be: Would the site be any less visited and enjoyed if certain areas are dropped. If chat is causing that much stress for yourself and other moderators, turn it off. I'll continue to come and read, post occasionally, and not be any worse off for it. Well, there is my feelings, and hopefully I represent a majority of other "silent" members. Hang in there, and don't ever regret for letting us know what your feeling. Steve
  14. Still, I'm soooooooooooo confused at this point. Not going to sleep much tonight as I think this chapter over, and over, and over again. Darn you Dom!!!

  16. Caught my interest on the first page!! I'm interested in where you are going to go with this story. It is a refreshing change that both characters are not the typical perfect hair, face, body, and personality. Looking forward to more!
  17. Dom, luving the story so far!!! I once tried petting a chicken when I was eight, I still have the indent on the bridge of my nose where she got me with her beak I just might have to skip over any further chicken refrences as I'm as scared of them as Frank's mom is of spiders. Personally, I don't think that Oliver and David are the same. If you know of any siblings of people who are considered "slow" or have downes, etc., you will see a totally different person around their family. They lose all selfishness and focus on making thier sibling feel equal. Too bad the rest of us couldn't do the same.
  18. The person below me lost their virginity before they were 16! Okay........I was fifteen, and really really really curious The person below me has done something in public, nude!

Hmmm, a friend was working on a feedlot the other day and got kicked in the chest by a cow and broke some ribs. But he is no homophobe, so couldn't be him. Still an interesting coincidence though
