  5. Hey Dugh having witnessed it (and been a helper/carer too), that condition is really hard and demanding on the helper/carer. Unfortunately sometimes the best you can do is to make sure she's safe - even if in someone's else hands for a moment - to take a moment to take care of yourself. I don't know how things work in the US but I remember that for my grandpa, the nursing home would take him 1 or 2 afternoon per week so that Grandma could have a moment to herself and even for him it was a change of scenery (and also to prepare for the moment he had to be placed there definitely...) Hugs to both of you
  6. As dark as @Drew Espinosasoul
  7. 5more weeks for me but then I get 2 months off ✌🏻 Wednesday is the first round of results to know in which school I'll be send of to next September... If I don't have something this round I'll have to wait for the next one in July and if I don't get something this time either it'll be by the end of August to mid September... I tried to petition to have bonus points to have something not too far from where I live due to my medical condition but as I don't have an official notification (it take like 6 months) yet it was refused despite letters from 3 different doctors...
  8. If it's not love, what is it? cause it looks like it The other solution is that you're a perv who doesn't respect Drew's wishes for personal boundaries
  9. Cause for you it'd turn into a chokehold *sighs* ah tough love...
  10. Yeah Drew and I are the only ones who get scolded and shout at
  11. Got my "coolest teacher" badge today Classroom was a furnace today. It was already 28 at 8.30am with no air . It was unbearable. We started with a dictation ( looked up the word online, it's when I dictated words or sentences and the students have to write them correctly) and by 9am the kids and myself were already suffocating, brains liquefying... I start next with mathematics problems and saw I was loosing them so suddenly I said "ok, stop. Pack your bags with your white slates, pencils, draft book, water bottle we're going outside." I myself packed my bag with the laptop, board pens, white board eraser... And out we went under the shade of the tree in the playground. Laptop and white board were on a bench, kids sat on the ground in front and everyone worked! Some were lying on their front, other prop against their bag... After recess another class was having sport under the tree so we found another corner in the shade and it was even better. There was a metal grid to protect the shutter of the after school program room so putting my white board on it made it more visible for the kids and my magnetic pen pot was even sticking to it! Yay! They worked for 1hour on calculing surfaces and perimeters. They were so focus they didn't even got distracted by the other class playing tennis a few meters away. In the afternoon we had to spend some time in the classroom to wrap the mother's day gifts, then I put a little video going over the grammar lesson. We packed our bags again and went to recess. After recess another class was having sport on all the playground so we stayed under the covered playground. A student had the great idea to used the benches as tables while they'd sit on the floor for more comfort. To make it even better there's a massive blackboard on a wall there! And I remembered I have a box of chalks in my room! More yay! I even stole a chair from the teacher hall for myself Again the worked for almost 45 minutes, in silence, focused. I had kind of an epiphany tonight telling all this to my dad after telling him one of my tutor I saw Thursday told me it's sure I'll be titularised at the end of the school year with no visit from the inspector needed. I recalled the growth I had this year as a teacher, being more and more confident in my teaching. Would I have had the balls to do this - almost full - day of teaching outside with not much equipmenta few months ago? Loosen the reins and trust myself, the students and taking a bet? Definitely not. But I did it and it went perfectly well. More than even. I feel like some kids who are often struggling to stay focus in class were more focused today (they understood the lessons on grammar and on proportionality! When we've being dragging those for a couple of weeks now!). Anyway sorry for the rant. Feel free to skip it
  12. We were also supposed to say that I'm not

  17. It's a Canadian brand. In heated Rivalry, the Canadian team plays the Olympics games and Shane is wearing the fleece jacket. It was a big hit and people on socials started petitionning for it to be available to buy. Long story short team Canada, the producers of the show, the costume person all accepted and teamed up to have it made.
  18. And? They're not my preference but it doesn't mean I wouldn't enjoy the view
  19. Province of Canada is releasing the fleece!!
