The roar of the turbine engine was a monstrous, concussive force, tearing the cold, high-altitude air to shreds. The landscape below was a terrifying, pristine wilderness: endless, razor-sharp mountain peaks, draped in impossible layers of glacial blue ice and blinding white snow, stretching away into the vast, indifferent horizon of the Northern Rocki
