  1. Chapter 8: The Spillway The red counter on the primary support column burned with malignant patience: 00:27:09. Alex pulled back from the panel, the cold certainty of the timer overriding the panic of his failure to save Brian. The dam wasn't just a prison; it was a bomb, rigged to cause a catastrophic environmental disaster. He had to bleed the pressure or the ensuing flood would wipe out miles of the downstream ecosystem, a final, spiteful act from the Water Wolf. His prob

    Chapter 2

We have a large generation of Boomers that are... gripping onto power and dragging everything down with it. They forget we only narrowly voted to leave the EU by an infinitesimally small margin, and most of those people have dies off, leaving us holding a rotten bag. What we really need is Reform UK to crawl back into it's hole and let us actually fix the vandalism they have done.

Bugger, that was not supposed to be Sarah there... again, artifacts, this is an older chapter of the narrative, I will correct it.

    Chapter 17

Self adopted, you have to love Puppies. I've had a few over the years that have adopted themselves, and I value all of them. I have a small horde of them, I was (back around 2000) a developer of a video game, and went on to be a community manager for it (one of the first MMORPGs) I ended up with a horde of misfit boys, the ones none of the others wanted to deal with. And I quote : Topher is like our dad, he promises us Ice cream if we win, and buys it for us even if we don't. They are all grown up, but I still get mail from them regularly. For some I was the only dad they had, and I value their lives.

    Chapter 17

This scene went through a number of edits, as I really wanted to give Andrew a beat, alone, with Jacob. Andrew adores his son, and wanted to show how he sees Jacob through his own eyes. I've had similar fond moments with my own son, even though mine is a total goof, much like me, he's the best parts of me going on to do his thing and being a better part of the world. Awww now I have to call Jake and tell him he's adored... he's gonna grumble it's like two am over there. :: evil grin:: perfect.

    Chapter 17

it is definitely one of those mornings. I actually own a coffee carafe and am using it this morning so that's very accurate... just not so much the cigarettes... though I have a croissant... Been a little unwell this past weekend, so trying to catch up on my laziness. Working on Coyote Steals the Sun, Charlie's Been Stolen, and an unnamed project all about two boys being blackmailed into being a shipped couple that really needs a name... suggestions welcome.

    Chapter 17

This chapter is a little of a relic, to be honest. It was supposed to be his first realization, but as the story evolved, and edits went through, I had to go back and write to make Andrew a little less of a blind muppet so the first half of the chapter has some of those... residual moments. I still feel the burn notice was in order, so I left it in and tried to hammer the bend fender into shape... forgive the rough edges on it. i might give it another pass when I have more time. But as it was I only had half an hour to edit this morning as I woke up late and (insert more excuses here)

Chapter Seventeen WORLD END: T-minus 110 days, 10 hours, and 00 minutes CSIS Secure Logistics Facility, Ottawa, Ontario. Operational Medical Bay. The secure logistics facility—a vast, concrete hangar repurposed for military transport—was silent save for the sharp, rhythmic BEEP-BEEP-BEEP of hospital monitors. A corner of the hangar had been partitioned into a temporary, sterile medical bay. The air, thick with the chemical scent of disinfectant, was a clean, cold contrast to

    Chapter 7

Kenny and Alex have this fun dynamic, the bickering but ultimately loyal pairing. They hate working together, but Brian and Steve glue them in place. Two types of Order, Kenny's cautious and Alex's pragmatic that often clash. I also enjoy Alex's total lack of awareness to poor Kenny running 3km and back, up and own a hill, while demanding detailed technical input on the fly. He's ... a jackass sometimes, and the fact that Kenny isn't afraid to call him on that is great fun.

Dmytro and West in the next book, epic team up. Pierre Thorne, the Crown prince on the rise, Jane died to hide that name, now Andrew has it, Bastard son for Bastard son, it should be interesting to see how this battle goes

  15. Chapter 7: The Sabotage The cold was absolute, a bitter, chemical bite that scraped the skin. Alex stood alone on the Otter’s foredeck. The vehicle was silent, its Ghost Mode electric drive having delivered him to the base of the Dam. The hull of the Brisay Dam rose above him, a colossal, featureless wall of concrete and black steel that vanished into the bruised twilight sky. The water below was a churning, black void, hungry and lethal. The Otter’s electric motor retreated silently

Chapter Sixteen WORLD END: T-minus 110 days, 15 hours, and 00 minutes Alberta Foothills, High-Risk Containment Zone. Near The Community Compound. Deep Winter. The air inside the Canadian Armed Forces CC-130J Super Hercules transport plane was a vibration of dull grey fatigue and high-octane logistics. The massive cargo bay, usually packed with pallets and vehicles, was dominated by a single, tightly secured load: a four-man operational team, encased in specialized tactic

  23. Chapter 6: The Pomeranian and The Plan The room was a stark, concrete shoebox of a maintenance room, repurposed as a holding cell deep within the Brisay Dam complex. The only furniture was a single, rusted bench and the smell was a stale mix of ozone, damp concrete, and fear. Steve Hickey, ever the chaos agent, was pacing the short length of the room, his shock finally burning off and replaced by a thin, frantic bravado. "Okay, so when this dude—this 'Wolf'—comes in, we stick to the sto
