I finished this book today. Clocking in at 19 chapters 100000 words. I will, as usual, make the epub available for those that want it. I am already contemplating a sequel that would be Dimitri Ryder and his turn at the wheel of things with his Gremlin co-pilot. The only issue with that is it would put it somewhere right near the end of the Falcon Banner book series timeline wise, so I have to avoid mention of the war beyond what is already known. Dimitri does, after all, have to meet Doctor Kyr, it's like a given. I am also considering, strongly, writing a blade-runner esque story about Constructs, and the Martian slave trade in artificial human beings. But that is still really early in concepts.

He's a mess, being a dad at 14 will do that to some people. He's spent years running away from the responsibilities he never chose. Isaiah, as evidenced in this chapter, is encouraging Mickey to be a better father.

I got a little repetative with his scenes in this one, i think it was a couple of scenes that were originally broken over a couple of chapters that I ended up consolidating. I really wanted to show Rashid as a product of his Grandfather's cruelty. He doesn't hate Ishan, he loves him. You don't volunteer to protect your brother from branding without that kind of love, but given their situations, it's twisted, broken.

It was told to them that it was the safer route by guides from what I researched. It really wasn't... so I think they were deceived. Though there is no direct information on that.

This map is good, it shows where Lord Haskal split from the main host to attack Tarsus, Baldwin's betrayal and his run for Edessa, as well as the route the main crusade host took... at the start of that split the crusaders numbered 150,000 men, by the time they reunited to cross the iron bridge there were 30000 left. That march very nearly broke them all.
