Ashot is a fun and plucky character, very fond of "HIS" Steffy. But there were so many orphans that fell into following the main army. Many went through unspeakable horrors. Ashot, however, is a survivor and the Vanguard protect their own. Lloyd, who we know went through his own abuse and protects the boys, will do the same for Ashot. I don't see the mouse knight treating the little Armenian street rat any differently than the others he's adopted.

The bread was stale. Stephen had been carrying it in his pack for three days, a hard lump of flour and water that the quartermaster had doled out with the particular reluctance of a man who had learned to hoard everything. He had meant to eat it himself, had been saving it for a moment when the hollow in his belly grew too loud to ignore. But the moment had not come, and the bread was stale, and Stephen found himself standing at the edge of the ruined village with it in his hand, not sur

Wylan has a simple ability to just be in the right place at the right time. It is interesting to watch him do his thing. Unassuming, kind and gentle, and that speaks to people. Who is Adehmar to say that Wylan isn't a saint, he's certainly possessed with a gift.

i think it is on Kindle select which makes it available on there.

One of two alien races that joined the Empire. The other being the Taïrians. After the collapse they made a deal to remain independent from the Hegemony. The Amsus and Kaynin were constructed races as part of the GN-war's soldier projects forming the five main races of the Empire along with the humans. Sorry folks for the odd lore snippets, a lot of this is in the main Falcon Banner books, and Queen of Ice which was the prequel. Which reminds me, at somepoint I need to rewrite QoI as it is just bloody terrible and needs a strong revision. Though, funnily it is the only book of mine that was nominated for an award.

Indeed, how does it know... In it's defense being locked in a crate for three years does lend itself time to learn the language of the people around it.

And welcome the next crew member of the Vega Vixen. The Lord of Snacks, self-appointed security officer, and wielder of the Spoon! Gremlin For those who know the Falcon banner lore, a Dreknar.

The Art of Salvage (Or, How to Acquire a Frigate Without Really Trying) The exploration ship's cockpit was too large, too clean, and still too wrong. Mickey had been sitting in the pilot's chair for three hours now, and he had not yet found a comfortable position. The chair was military-grade, designed to support a human spine through high-G maneuvers and extended deployments. It was, by any objective measure, a masterpiece of ergonomic engineering. Mickey hated it. "The s

Ishan is, arguably the best trained Magus in the book series. Wylan is, perhaps, more concentrated raw power. The Sisters of the Nile are a triad so balance them, and Morwenna the blood witch is a corruption she has a holy relic to equalize her power when Wylan kicks her ass all over the astral plane... so yes, Prince Ishan is probably the most effective magus of the lot.

Indeed, and woe betides anyone that hurts Wylan, that's 1300 very pissed off Northmen and 1 woman who is legally a man and wields a very big lance. Wait, no, Lloyd's the one with the mighty Lance. Val just makes jokes about it

Lord Haskal knows how important Wylan is to his "son" and Lord Haskal commanders the best equipped, well rested host left in the army

The Mouse Knight's shield relief

Lord Haskal is right, the only thing Wylan is, is Darien's and no title, blessing, baptism will change that.

Good morning. Saint Wylan, of the people
-
The Orontes River ran cold and gray beneath the morning sky, and Darien stood on its banks and watched an army of ghosts emerge from the mountains. He had known it would be bad. Haskal's scouts had been bringing reports for days—starvation, frostbite, the abandoned armor of men who had thrown away their fathers' mail to climb a frozen pass. But knowing and seeing were different things. The men who stumbled out of the Anti-Taurus foothills were not the army that had split from them carrying

one of the two is pivitol to the plot. The other is destined for something.

He and Isaiah have a bit of a shared background which means they can bond. Mum is ... a vibe. And Gremlin is still a gremlin.

Dimitri Ryder is bound for the stars, heaven help him... or not given his views on the church.
-
The Ticket The white linen shirt had finally stopped itching, not because the fabric had softened, but because Dimitri Ryder’s skin had simply gone numb to the constant abrasion. He was sitting on the edge of his narrow, perfectly made bed in the basement levels of the New Eden Outreach Center on Port Talon. The walls were the color of weak tea. The lighting was fluorescent and unforgiving, emitting a low, constant hum that vibrated in the fillings of his teeth
