This book deals with a Fictionalized version of the 2023-2024 Election Cycle. Biden, Trump, Harris and Vance are present, but are at times exaggerated for effect. Both the Democrats and the Republicans get equal flak, and I try to be fair as I can be with a fictionalized scenario. Let's keep the Real world politics to one side as we focus on the caricatures of the people involved. Remember, the Annexation of Canada and the Events of Carter's Throne have significantly changed the political map of North America. William Carter, the King of the North, significantly alters the Presidential Race, causing complications to both parties, all of the Candidates. Will is neither Republican, nor a Democrat, as his history shows, as an MP he was quite liberal, but as a PM he was staunchly Centrist. So let's not arm ourselves and get into camps. And Vote Carter 2024!

Yep, Fourteen is not exactly the smartest age. The next chapter is Andrew's.

So our resident Carter boys are up to no good, and guilty of Grand Theft Volvo.

CHAPTER ONE: THE LONG ROAD HOME Location: Highway 16, Northbound. Approaching Manotick. Time: Late April. 21:00 Hours. Status: In Transit. The Volvo 240 was a tank disguised as a station wagon, a rolling monument to Lutheran thrift and Swedish indestructibility. It smelled of wet golden retriever, thirty years of heater dust, and the sharp, peppery tang of the open bag of beef jerky on the console. At anything over eighty kilometres an hour, a rhythmic thud-thud-thud emanated from the

They stole his country. Now he’s stealing their Presidency. Three years after the US annexed Canada, the "Northern Territory" is a resource colony under martial law. Governor Will Carter knows the military war is lost, so he opens a new front. Leveraging a loophole in the annexation treaty, Will launches a hostile takeover of the White House. Facing the tyrant who erased his homeland, Will must master the American political machine to dismantle it from the inside. But to save his people, he risks becoming the very thing he hates. Can he liberate Canada without becoming the Emperor of America?

PROLOGUE Location: Sector 4 (formerly Merrickville, Ontario) Time: 0630 Hours. Early April. Status: Occupied Territory (3 Years, 3 Months Post-Annexation) The morning damp on the stone was a slick, cold skin, a heavy dew thick enough to wipe off with a thumb. It coated the nineteenth-century limestone of the Merrickville Blockhouse, a tourist relic that now served as an OP for an American sniper team West had evicted a week ago. Below, the Rideau Canal was a swollen ribbon of brown

It is next on my writing list. So I promise to TRY to get it done soon.
-
See I can be good, I didn't look at it, touch or fiddle, I feel relieved I will survive unmocked!
-
It took several efforts to get right. And there are three seperate versions of this chapter and the next one.
-
I don't think ANYONE in Merrickville, at that time, will disagree with that. In fact everyone will gladly swear to the exact same thing, in the exact same words.
-
I mean it's sort of heavily implied that Andrew and Clovis had SOMETHING to do with that old buzzard vanishing, but no one's ever going to prove it. I *might* write something to canonize it, but you know... ambiguity is good. Because out of everyone, those two were the ones who cared about Jason the most, and given what happened, something had to be done.
-
I mean, it is implied that those guys went and dealt with Jason Jensen's neo-nazi dad in that fashion, but I'm not going to ackknowledge that aloud.
-
Andrew, West, Clovis, Jason, Matt, and Jared.... I would not like to annoy those guys. They'd tie a dude to the back of a tractor and take him out to Grandpa Jon's lower field, and explain in no uncertain terms, you don't mess with Merrickville. LOL. Joey and Blake offering their view points while Sgt. Bobby McCormick calls in to control and lets the local police know that there's nothing going on at the Harding farm that night. I mean the silverback squad might be even worse than the new team.
-
I have visions of Brian sitting on the body, Kenny pinning the legs, Weston the arms, while the McCormick twins Ethan and Aiden take turns doing wrestling moves. Steve would probably watch and make excited suggestions, while poor Tabby tries to get the boys off of the poor person underneath. Garrett doesn't count, he's an *uck ewww* Canadian football player. Kyle would bring snacks. While Finn stares at him angrily like a haunted Victorian child. Egged on my Lydia who'd enjoy Kyle finally getting what's due a snitch. I am trying to think of anyone left out of the gang of vengeful Condors. There's a few from stories not released yet. Charlie and Axl being the most important of those... but yes... Go Storm! Kid looks far too much like I did at hockey games when I was that age.
-
STORM PILE!
-
Yeah, there is a reason he ran to his Grandpa
-
I think Finn just needs to open up, if not Aunt Jenny or Lydia, maybe Grandpa Walter... he's not going to find happiness running... Maybe the Navy, he's a VERY talented mechanic which is surprising given his size, but he's got that Engine Whisperer thing going on.
-
It's always interesting to look at a group like this and consider alternate pairings. Kyle and Mister Wolochowski.... that was close to happening. Steve and Brian would have been odd... but I can sort of see it. Nah... it'd be rather sticky, once, and both would decide it's not for them. Kenny and Alex, now there's a pairing... not each other's type at all, but funny to consider. I mean they'd both end up sharing disinfectant afterwards and complain endlessly about each other's technique.
-
They've been exploding all over the place. Especially the garage, and the skate shop, and the donut shop, Garrett's bedroom, the cabin... At this rate the canal's going to need a cleaning out.
-
They both view themselves as liabilities unworthy of love. The thing is they are both assets they just don't realize it. If Finn and Garrett hadn't connected, Kyle would still be polishing the counter at Tim Hortons waiting for Garrett to wake up and realize that Kyle's known all along. And Finn, Finn would have buried himself in a Garage for forty years like Walter did, as life passed him by. Too broken to come out.
