Greetings and salutations, Shackers! I'm having an absolutely fantastic day today, and I hope you guys are too! It has been an extremely hectic two weeks, but that's not going to stop us from getting stuff done! Hehehe! I guess it's safe to say that the LGBTQ community has been known to have a certain 'culture' surrounding it. Stereotypes that immediately come to mind when it comes to thinking about someone being gay. The butch lesbian, the effeminate male, the leather outfits, the show tunes, the exquisite fashion sense...but is it fair to label gay culture with the same old personas over and over again? I mean, as more and more people are becoming comfortable expressing their sexuality in public...it's easy to see that gay people are just...people. Right? On the other hand, if the whole idea is celebrating ourselves and being who we truly are...so <i>what</i> if you like show tunes? What if you feel comfortable being a little effeminate instead of having to fake some macho persona for other people? I'd like to hear your thoughts on this, both concerning yourselves and other people in the gay community. Do you lean more towards getting away from the stereotypical idea of what it means to be gay in today's society? Or do you think it's more important for gay and lesbian people to express themselves in their own way...stereotypes be damned? Let us know what you think! We may not all be rushing home to watch the latest episode of "Glee" with our girlfriends over a few Cosmopolitans...but if you're one of the people who LIKES doing that...we love you too!

"GFD: Body Disposal" The story begins... Day one. That's always how it begins, isn't it? Day one. I can vaguely remember leaving my apartment as a matter of routine, straightening my black tie as I walked down the murky hallway. As though looking sharp was really going to make a big difference in the new job that I was moving into tonight. Something tells me that the higher ups that picked me for this new assignment might have had it out for me from the very beginning.

In modern times, with the vampire population growing to massive numbers in the Chicago area, a program had to be set up in order to take care of the carnage left behind and continue the cover up that vampires actually exist. In a word...'nah'... Honestly, I've had two experiences in my life that basically tells me that something like this could never really work out for the best. At least not for me. For other people, I wish them the best...but I couldn't do it, myself. I mean, I've seen people try. But it usually causes bad things to happen further down the line. Now, if two friends are in the 'moment' and a sexual encounter spontaneously happens between them...that's one thing. But a recurring series of incidents? That's just asking for trouble. When I was about 13, almost 14, I sort of had sex with someone who was my best friend at the time. And it was good! Hehehe! But after the first two or three times...well...it was like all he would think about. Don't get me wrong, I was just as horny as he was...but the truth is...I missed my best friend. I wanted to watch horror movies and play Nintendo and just hang out, but...sex kind of took over everything and we were never able to get back to where we were. It didn't end badly or anything, but we sort of drifted apart. And I feel like sex sort of broke the bond that we had with one another. Move ahead about a year or two, I met my best friend, Mike, who is still one of my very best friends to this day. But I honestly fell in LOVE with him! Like...tragically so! LOL! And Mike is straight, so, you know...no chance there for anything more significant. And we've never had any sexual contact at all...but if we had, I know for a fact that I wouldn't have been able to handle that. Because, whenever I love somebody, I love them to the limit! Hehehe, I am candy and flowers and music and random messages on a Tuesday morning to say, "I love you. Just wanted you to know!" My romantic feelings for him couldn't have been held at bay. I would have been hurt, then depressed, then angry, then jealous...hehehe, it would have been a huge mess that I'm glad we avoided. Luckily, once I give somebody a piece of my heart, whether it works out or not, they can keep it. I'll love you forever, no matter what. I'll just have to do it in a different way than what I wish could be the ideal. Anyway...friends with benefits, to me, is like having a granola bar to hold you off until dinner. It just doesn't last for very long. And I'd rather go for something special when it comes to sex with another person. That's not to say the friends with benefits idea is impossible...but I wouldn't know how to work that out. Would you?

Let me start off by apologizing for being absent the last two or three days. I got smacked with a work schedule tht was overwhelming to say the very least! But, I have the day off today, and I'm going to use it to catch up with everything that was supposed to be posted this weekend. K? '30 Days Of Night' continues today with an official reboot of the "GFD: Lost In Shadow" series! Now, this was started as a 'round robin' story initially, where different authors would all jump in and post their own continuation of the story every month. Unfortunately, after about five chapters or so, it got harder and harder for other writers to really participate as often as we would like. But hey...it happens. BUT...it's a "GFD" spinoff story that I would really like to tell! So I've gone through to breathe some new life into this series, and I'm picking it back up so I can give it the ending it deserves! The first chapter was the only one that I wrote, personally, and the other chapters belong to the authors who contributed their time and effort to storyline. This version will only include my own stuff, but the other chapters by multiple authors will remain on the "Blood Bank" website if you guys are interested. K? So, here is the first part of the story! It has all of the GFD elements that you guys have come to know and love! So enjoy! And let me know what you think when you get a chance! More coming today! "Lost In Shadow" It began with the pounding of a severe headache, throbbing mercilessly behind my eyes. The harsh reality of a pulsating migraine that seemed to come out of nowhere at all. It hurt so badly that I could literally 'taste' the ache of it in the back of my throat. I felt like I was spinning wildly in place, but I knew somehow that I was laying still. Maybe it was the whole world that was spinning like this instead. Disorienting. Bewildering. Where am I? How did I get here?

This was an experiment from some years ago to be a 'round robin' story, where different authors stepped up to add their own creative flair for each chapter. However, seeing as that's no longer the plan, I'm rebooting the series so I can take it to completion myself! It's a "GFD" spinoff that I really thought needed to be told. I hope you guys like it! A vampire wakes up in the midst of a fierce battle...badly injured, and suffering from a spell of selective memory loss! Who is he? What was he doing there? And what will happen if he CAN'T get his memories back? Or even worse... What will happen if he CAN?

Sorry, you guys! This was supposed to be posted on the 1st of the month, but I was having fun with you all in that chatroom that night! Hehehe! But here is the next Q & A question for a future issue of Imagine Magazine! Feel free to put your two cents in down below! I'm really excited to hear what you guy have to say on these issues, and I'm sure others will too. So let us know what you think! K? I'm sure we've all heard the term 'friends with benefits', right? Basically, someone that you're not romantically involved with...but you don't mind getting together to relieve a little sexual tension every now and then. The question is...can something like this really work? I mean...sure, you have fun. You get a regular access to a sexual release. And you're already friends, so where's the harm in that? But...what happens if you DO fall for him, and he doesn't feel the same way? Or vice versa? What happens if one of you falls for someone else in a romantic way? Does that mean the 'benefits' have to immediately stop? And is there any bitter feelings left over if they do? Does jealousy play a part? How temporary is temporary? And will the friendship suffer from being sexually involved in that way? Or is it possible to just be blissfully happy with a healthy, normal, mutually beneficial, relationship with someone that you may not be madly in love with...but fully enjoy anyway?
