  1. Do you mean regarding Eric? Hmmm, kind of hard to make that stick without some kind of evidence. Staying at his house is suspicious, though, very suspicious. Nothing worse then being labeled a child rapist by Bill O'Rielly But then again that is just me... I don't know about your "Mr. Willaims is Evil" theory... I mean, there is no evidence for it. It's not like he is always interupting.. Er, well, it's not like he named his cat 'Beelzebub"... Er, well, hmmm... BTW, everyone, Steve has two stories running here on GA, and one is the absolutly superb "Living in Surreality". Steve has a way with words, an elequence, that gives the most vivid of descriptions. He's good, damn good, and BTW, he also has another story, called "Shot of Bourbon" that is an internet classic. It's the typical gay fiction theme: Boy meets Dirtbike, Boy falls in love with Dirtbike, Dirtbike hurts boy, etc.
  2. Poor Eric... Why does everyone think the worst of him? Well, you never know... I'll even give a very minor spoiler: Either you are right, or you aren't. He already has, (and that's shdowgod the anonymous beta reader, BTW). He betas before I send the chapter to Emoe. He contributes a very great deal to both the wording and the plot. For example, the whole "mount the mailbox" thing came out of comment he made while beta reading. And that, incidentally, is why Veronica siad Steve has a dirty mind. The only problem there is that the house has no cellar. He'd have to bury Eric. That, however, might not be an unpopular plan in the minds of Chris and Steve. Ohhh, I'd love to speculate and opine on some of the points you and Graeme raised! But, Alas, I cannot. Y'all have some great predictions and speculations though, thanks!! OK, I'm off to work on CH 15, trying to get caught up!
  3. When i was casting about for a name for the Fundy preacher, let's just say I was divinely inspired. But, I will note that EMoe is mistaken if he thinks I actually put him in the story: The Reverend is Emoe, while our editor is EMoe. I'm sure it was all purely coincidental. So you like spurs, do you? Hi Steve! Fear not, I'm quite sure, just as with EMoe's newfound profession as a homophobic Fundy preacher, it's all quite coincidental. Good, he's getting overconfident...
  4. Bear in mind that Emoe has connections at the IRS, so you might want to take Canadian citizenship if you keep calling him "Emu". And in any case, Leviticus does not mention citizenship or nationality. He merely says that you can have slaves if they are from neighboring nations, and you are in a neghboring nation.
  5. There ya go! That works... So, hmmm, France has the Isle of Clipperton, off the Mexican coast and south of Southern California, and I guess that makes it neighboring, so, can I interest you in purchasing a Californian?
  6. Sorry, Jack, but you can't trump Leviticus. Just ask Reverend Emoe. We have a right to own Canadians! (or, is it Californians?) Well, if you are going to be difficult about it... BTW, I thought I'd announce the name of the next chapter: In Beer, Veritas.
  7. And Monaco is a Casino with tourist town. LoL I've never been to Andorra, but I have been to Monaco. Flood control is just an automatic setting that won't allow two posts within 30 seconds. The fact that you got it, however, confirms that you are, indeed, a postaholic. It shouldn't be too hard. You were nice enough to post your pic in your profile, after all. So, who wants to start the bidding on the Canadian? I'm assuming that Leviticus wouldn't mind an auction when it comes to aquiring slaves from neighboring nations.
  8. Andorra. I didin't count the Channel islands as they don't have a land border with France and are nominally under the UK anyway. As for how to make moeny out of Jack, hmmmm, I shall have to consult Leviticus on that.. Though, I do seem to recall that a country to your north has an active flesh trade? He missed Andorra, in the Pyranees mountains between France and Spain. We have seen your picture, and you are at least close enough.
  9. I'm pretty good with Geography, and I love things like that. I'm wondering if our French Friend will figure out which nation (that shares a land border with France) he left out of his list. He did list the UK, which actually does share a land border with France: In the Channel Tunnel, under the English Channel. But, he missed one nation (with a land border) from his list. I'm not sure Leviticus would consider those islands cause to consider France a true neighboring nation. So, for now, you might have to abandon your quest to sell Bondwriter into, um, Bondage.

    Cured?

Sure, I think he's "cured", and I also have a bridge for sale in Brooklyn. I think what he may be cured of is being caught. I notice that drugs were involved in the scandal, so he might well have gone through drug rehab. But, does that actually "cure" anyone of drug problems? They call dry alcoholics "recovering" for a reason. My hunch? They want to use him as an example that is is possible to cure homosexuality, to encourage more parents to commit their kids to the barbaric "ex-gay" camps and programs. I sure hope he is caught again, and soon. CJ
  11. One would be a territory of France: St. Pierre and Miquilion ilslands. The other? Hmmm... Greenland? The Davis strais are fairly narrow.
  12. Nope, nope, that only applies to people... If you are trying to list all your neighboring countries, you missed one. (Yes, you are receiving geography lessons from a Goat). As for the erotica, I'm very fond of "fade to sex" in certain circumstances. I think it works better in some cases, for dramatic and emotional reasons to leave things up the the imagination. I'm also no fan of frequent sex in a story. But, yes, there will be sex again in FTL. Heck, I just realized that I missed a golden opportunity to include a sex scene. Remember those sneaky mule deer from the "ambush" chapter? What if they had been mating when Chris spotted them from atop makeout rock? That would have counted as a sex scene, wouldn't it?
  13. Ahhh, that's right, you did! Perhaps I should attempt to argue my way out of this by saying I had no way of knowing whether you knew what you meant? Yup!!! You got the inside bit!
  14. I don't know whether you are familier with slang in english, but "mount" also has a sexual connotation, which is what steve meant when he asked if Veronica really wanted him to mount her mailbox. I'll argue that point, by saying that I agree 100%!! LoL! Yes, i meant to go back and fix that, and should have. It struck me similarly when I wrote it. I should have had the narrative simply say "And Steve explained how he had tricked me again". Or something along those lines. Or better yet, have the discovery of the trick occur in front of the friends. Well, shdowgod, it looks like you have a Canadian right there! Been as he's willing, and from a neighboring nation (gotta obey Leviticus, after all) I'll sell him to you for a reasonable price. Thanks! I had fun writing Chris' "Trial". BTW, there is a bit of inside humor in there. Can anyone pick it out? It has to do with a certain anonymous beta reader. Wow, thanks!! The sermon, including the theological arguments used, was my own. I have a strong dislike for Fundamentalists, so I've always wanted to come up with theological points against their creed instead of just tit-for-tat arguments over homosexuality. A knowledgeable friend did give me some pointers and cirtiques on the theology (I did make a mistake there initially) and that sermon was an utter beast to write. It took me weeks. You are right, I'm not good at writing sex scenes. I've only ever done two: the one in Chapter 8, and the one in my summer anthology entry, "No shirt, No problem." However, for plot reasons I have no choice but to write one soon. The title is Emoe's creation. I couldn't think of one, but he did (thank you Emoe!!!! ) . The basic meaning is best answered with a question: Chris is enduring a great deal (including people trying to kill him) to be with Steve, why is he willing to? The answer is the title.
  15. I said two hours, and I made it with two miniutes to spare. Chapter 13: Sermon and the Mount, is up!
  16. I'll add that to the list. Hi JAck!!! I'll add those to the predictions list. Thanks!! As for Rev. Haggard, yeah, I'm sure he is 100% heterosexual, until the next time he gets caught sleeping with a guy. I just got it! Thanks to Emoe, this chapter will be online within two hours (I do have some work to do on it). I'll go get to work! THANK YOU EMOE!!!!!!
  17. But I almost never post... I'm a lurker, remember? As for the contest, I've compiled the entries below. If I have missed anyone, please let me know!
  18. Announcment! I'm slow! Well, I doubt that is news to anyone. But, I do not at the moment have a chapter to post. Chapter 13 was very difficult to write, and took me forever, so I was late getting it to Emoe. The good news is that the chapter exists, and that Emoe has it. The delay though is because I was late in sending it in. I'm trying to get caught up again, but not making much progress. I'll be lucky if I have Ch 14 finished by tonight when in reality I ought to be finishing up 15 right now. But, in my own defense, I do have to type with hooves, which ain't easy.
  19. I just do not possibly comprehend how anyone thought it was a bomb?!!? Bombs DO NOT have flashing lights or big LED displays. I always laugh when I see a TV show of a move where hidden explosives, complete with flashing lights (I'm not kidding) are being hidden or sought. I just assumed that Hollywood was too stupid to know that something designed to be hidden and covert WILL NOT HAVE a feature like a flashing red light! (This is one of many reasons why I so rarely watch movies or TV; the majority of it isn't worth the time.) I had no idea that law enforcement could be similarly moronic. On the other hand, I have no sympathy for the advertisers here either: They were apparently placing their advertising without the knowledge or permission of the property owners. If that is the case, I hope they get jail time, to discourage that kind of theft.
  20. I can see doing that as Mercury was thoguht to be tidaly locked when he wrote that, AND it was critical to the story. Editing eFiction stories is a breeze, so that would certainly be an option. Unless, of course, it is something integral to the plot and I can't change it. ROFL!!!!!!!!!! That might work! Well, maybe. I saw something on TV a while back while channel surfing, and it had one character in a lab coat telling another about the cuase of ulcers: Viruses. I immediatly switched channels because the real cause of most ulcers is Helicobacter pylori, which are bacteria, not viri! UGH. With the budgets they have they can't do a 20 second internet search to verify a fact? I don't mind actually using fiction (such as making up the towns and counties) but to have a glaring accidental blunder is something I'd much prefer to avoid.
  21. But, as I'm already a lurker, I guess I could just continue lurking? Thanks Kojaky! Ouch, I know that feeling all too well. I hope things turn around for you soon, Jack. Hi Krista! That, or I joined GA on Feb 16th, 1706. Wow.. Considering that I'm now claiming to have joined GA in 1706, that means that you can remember back to before the American Revolution! I guess my comment to Graeme about you getting old was right! Thanks kevin, and thanks everyone!
  22. Wow, thanks everyone! I'm working on the Fairy Tales anthology entries, Plus I'm real-world working today, and I have some projects to get done, as well as some writing. Myr, thank you for creating this wonderful place. It's like having a second family. Speaking of this wonderful place, I have a request: Please, everyone, if you can, check out the link in my sig that says "support GA". GA is having a fund drive, and the closing date is Feb 27th. Thanks again everyone, this has really made my day. CJ
  23. I was trying to sneak by without being noticed... and made it, for about 20 seconds. You got me Jack! Ummm... I think this is where I usually remind everyone that I almost never post? It's like this, ya see... My registration date is innacurate. I only post about once a month, so I registered here at GA on Feb 15th, 1706.
  24. Hey, thanks, I didin't know that! That is strange. In other words, if I fly from Detroit to Toronto, I need a passport. If I drive, I don't. That's the government I guess. BTW, that brings up a scary point; Realisim in stories. It is sooo easy to make a goof like that in a story, but then how do you fix it? Oh, and nice self-pic!
