  1. :king: :king: :king: :king: Happy Birthday!!!!! :king: :king: :king: :king: Have a great birthday!!!!
  2. 3000!!! Congratulations, GA!!!
  3. I am presuming he has personal knowledge of that. That wasn't even one of her more noteworthy pronouncements! Hmmmm, I think I know who my next blog post will be about. It wasn't all that long ago that being left-handed was considered something that could and should be "cured". even in the 70's it was common to try and train children to "fix" it. Going back a little further, the word "sinister" is forever tied to the left-handed, becuase sinister, in Latin, means "left". In many cases this and other connections resulted in left-handedness being considered satanic. So, the left-handed faced religious stigma in many cases (sound familiar?) Interestingly, the percentages of left-handed people roughly equate to the estimates of homosexuality in the general population, including a larger incidence in males than females. So, in my opinion, the day isn't too far away when being gay will be as accepted as being left-handed. (and lets face it, for most aspects of life, it is about as irrelevant).
  4. I want that boy's head on a stick! And I tried to make him so endearing.... I keep telling everyone: I'm just a quiet, shy, retiring forum lurker... It even says so in my profile. I can't say more about upcoming chapters (Emoe might find out and hurt me again). But we do learn more about the car soon. Oh, and don't forget Beelzebub, the cat.
  5. Considering what they changed it from (mental disorder) I guess it is progress. Of course, compared to some of the folks in my area, calling it a mental disorder is downright charitable. To quote my former State Representative, said while in office a couple of years ago: "The perversion that follows homosexuality is bestiality and then human sacrifice and cannibalism."
  6. EMoe!!! Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Many happy returns, my friend!!! :king: :king: :king: :king: :king: :king: :king:
  7. Thank you for the light-pollution map! I'm in one of the few black areas in the US, and at 7000ft, and I really notice that the night sky is "missing" whenever I go elsewhere. However, my view may not be that great: the weather forcast calls for partly-cloudy that night.
  8. Shhhh!!! That was supposed to be a secret... I'll have you know that poor Emoe worked for many hours on that chapter, before he finally noticed that there were no words at all in the chapter. What? Me? A postaholic? Surely no one would ever beleive that a shy, quiet, and retiring forum lurker like myself could ever be a postaholic? As for the car... Well, Y'all will find out soon enough. Thank you!!! I really don't understand why everyone is so down on poor, sweet little Eric.
  9. Absolutly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! go to http://www.worldtimeserver.com/ and translate the time for your area. If you can, get away from city lights, but even if you can't the show should be spectacular. Let Leo Roar!!

James, it was an honor working with you, and I am very much looking foward to seeing more stories from you! Best wishes; CJ
  11. Regurgulates?!?!! That's a new one! OK, I'll give another spoiler for the next chapter: it contains words.
  12. The only thing I've done (I think) that is dependant upon the "wait" factor for full effectiveness is a few cliffhangers (mainly due to where I decided to break the chapters). However, a lot of authors use cliffhangers, so I feel OK doing that. I think (and hope) that reading it stright through will give a good effect. The reason I'm doing weekly posts is that I only have half a dozen (including what is posted) edited and ready to post. If I get further ahead I wil speed up the posting rate, but I need the buffer as delays may occur. Also, I am using the critisisim received to make changes to future chapters, so it is helping. At the moment, my beta reader hasn';t even seen chapter 6 (the seventh chapter due to the prologue) yet so I really can't speed up posting at the moment.
  13. Now you see why Emoe has such a hard job!!! :ranger: I was concerned about the cliche aspect too. I probably shouldn't have used the term "best freinds" as they have only known each other a few months. I hope you will find it original, and I think the next few chapters will help in that regard. I can't tell you, becuase then Emoe would hurt me! Thanks!!! I make use of that technique in quite a few future chapters. As for Eric, what? do you mean you are expecting him to re-appear in the story? Well, I surely shouldn't give clues, like mentioning that the title of Chapter 3 is "Get the Rope..." so I won't.... Thanks Graeme!! uhoh. Well, I think you have a point there. The honest truth is that I put those freinds intros there instead of later for two reasons: So they weren't just "out of the blue" later on, and also to add some bulk to a very skinny chapter, and also to give a bit more background on why Chris felt he stood to lose everything if he was outed (and not all has been said on that, yet.). The good news is that I think that problem is (I hope) over, but please let me know if you still see in in Ch 3 or later. I should note here that although quite a few chapters are written, I can still change them prior to posting (or even after for minor things), so I can make immediate use (as well as future writing use) of criticisms. I didn't want this to be a story about their coming out or getting together, so what you are seeing right now is more of a stage-setting and character development section. I certainly agree that having the climax in chapter one or two would be a horrible idea!! Well, not unless I plan on having them sit around and watching the grass grow for the next 30 chapters... Thanks Birds!!!
  14. Chapter two is now up https://www.gayauthors.org/eficiton/viewsto...0&chapter=3 Please let me know what you thing, good or bad. :ranger:
  15. Welcome back Conner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you, even though I think I'm just a misunderstood lurker Goat...
  16. Happy Birthday, and many happy returns!
  17. Good catch, Jan! I think I need to start using the new spell-check for posts!
  18. I make it my policy to never offend an Echidna, so, between you and the mean Emoe, I'll keep my mouth shut and not say a word!
  19. Happy 21st Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. And here I thought I could sneak past and no one would notice... Thank you Michael!!! I'm betting Graeme will make his 3000th post long before I do though: I keep seeing him at the top of the daily top posters list.
  21. Graeme, thank you for those links, particuarly religioustolerance.org I very much liked their poing that there are same-sex relationships in the bible. I cound their analysis of David & Jonathan to be especially astute, especially on the translation issues. I also found their list of the other prohibitions of Leviticus to be excellent! a child to be killed if he/she curses their parent (Leviticus 20:9) all persons guilty of adultery to be killed (20:10) the daughter of a priest who engages in prostitution to be burned alive until dead (21:9) the bride of a priest to be a virgin (21:13) ritual killing of animals, using cattle, sheep and goats (22:19) observation of 7 feasts: Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, Feast of Firstfruits, Feast of Pentecost, Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Feast of Tabernacles (23) a person who takes the Lord's name in vain is to be killed (24:16) I personally find 5 to be particularly objectionable! Hi Knotme!! My personal view is that been that, if they do as Wafa Sultan did, then they discredit themselves (as Wafa Sultan did). If I can help then acheive some discredit, then I am delighted to oblige. I live in an area where christian fundamentalists and Mormons (usually even more conservative than the mainstream LDS) make up the majority of the population. So, I do end up in religious arguments quite often. HAve a safe trip to Oklahoma!! Hi Jensen! Take a look at the biblical story of David and Jonathan that I linked above. That certainly seems to be a positive portrayal of a gay relationship to me. Do you speak Koine Greek by any chance? I personally disagree that the biblical text does describe an specific act, because Anal sex can be practiced between men and women, as can most any other kind of sex that gays practice. Indeed, about the only thing I can think of that a male same-sex couple cannot doe that a mixed-sex couple can is vaginal sex, or sex for procreation (which are the norm for male-female sex). So, a logical interpretation of Leviticus would be that only those are prohibited (not much point, as they are impossible anyway, but still..)
  22. Welcome to GA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone who gives feedback is in my opinion especially welcome, becuase feedback is critical for Authors, especially new ones. It provides both motive and education (to help them improve). Speaking as one of the new authors, I can say for a fact that feedback is vital to me, and is one of my prime reasons for posting what I write. Thank you very much for joining us!
