Myr, THANK YOU for saying this. I'm astounded that so many just don't seem to get it. OK, everyone forget for a minute that there is no good reason for adults to be flirting with minors, and just look at the risks. #1 This is a gay site. #2 A lot of people hate gays. #3 There are also lots of people who think gays are all child molesters. #4 There are such a things as "reporters". They like to dig up scandal. #5 There is an organization called the FBI, that has gone knocking on doors over far less. OK, if someone on the "other side" of the "chat debate" wants to enlighten me, please PM me and do so, but I fail to see any reason whatsoever for not following a few simple rules. I also can't see a single reason to re-open chat unless there is a clear consensus on this issue, becuase it is a risk to the site and site owner with no upside to that risk. Guys, this site is like a party in someone's house. That means we are guests, and guests DO NOT stir up trouble for the person throwing the party. Myr, thank you for all that you do, and have done.
  2. Thank you Myr, for this wonderful place, and all that you have done over these many years to build and maintain it.
  3. Congratulations on your 100th post! Wow, those are some very deep questions! I'll give it a try... As for what moment I'd treasure the most, that is a tough one. Probably, my first solo flight. What made my heart pound like the whole world was shaking? For me the answer is literal; The Northridge Earthquake in California (I was in Northridge). I've been in a lot of quakes, some larger than that, but I was on top of a two story ladder when that hit. (yes, i was climbing a ladder at 4:30 am). Travel has always been a big part of what makes me tick. I can't really think of a favorite place as I have many, but what I enjoy most is staying away from the tourists and big cities, and just going to a grocery store or walking down the street in another country.
  4. :king: :king: :king: :king: Happy Birthday Davey!!! :king: :king: :king: :king:

Kevin, that was great!!! Hmmm, about the chocolate: did you know that chocolate is now considered by many to be a health food, due to the isoflavones and anti-oxidants in it? Just have the drark, rich kind that is high in cocoa and lower in sugar, and eat without guilt.
  6. It must be a software glitch....

    Oops...

I don't envy you having to move: that is always a pain in the neck, but I hope you enjoy living in Texas again. Don't procrastinate too long: I've always found that packing and other moving preperations take about three times as long as my "worst case estimate".
  9. I don't suppose you would settle for me admitting that, (yes, this might shock people) I do occasionally post? (Even lurkers can post occasionally).
  10. ACK!!!!!!!!! I think it is very unfair that Bardeara isn't on that list! I hereby, out of the goodness of my heart, take myself off the list so that Bardeara can be on it.
  11. Because we didn't want to leave you out. Inclusively and all that.
  12. Happy Birthday!!! I hope all is going well for you! I miss you! CJ
  13. Thanks Myr!! I've also noticed something: until recently you couldn't select multiple comments to reply to the way we can in the forums due to the "quote" button not working in blogs, but it works now! Thansk!!!
  14. He's got about 50 posts more than you do, but he's been a member for nearly twice as long, so that puts you in the #1 position for Avian posts per day! Nick, I appologize for my oversight! As a member of the Millenium Club, you certainly do qualify!!! I've edited my post to add your nomination!
  15. James, my sincere appologies for leaving you off of my nominations list! I shall correct the situation at once! Software glitch? But Graeme, I think you might be misinterpreting the exceedingly complex mathematical and statistical data involved. Ummm, Jack, did you just say that no one can prove their case against my claims of being a lurker? Why, thank you! I couldn't agree more! Go easy on Jack Frost, he's just an earnest yourg writer waiting for his Muse to strike. Perhaps, in the spirit of writerly camaraderie, we should join in hoping that his Muse does, indeed, strike? (and for those who don't get the reference, it is to the story "the Muse", linked in my sig. ) But for a Bird, that surely qualifies you as a postaholic? Unless there are birds who post more than that?
  16. Thank you Michael!!! I've never tried to write a car chase before, so I was rather uneasy about it. As for Eric, well, I can't say very much without giving out spoilers... So, I really can't say much of, well, anything. Hmmm, I can say that he likly has a plan, though.
  17. Why, of course you can play too, Lugh! I'll even edit my list to add you. Poor, silent Graeme? <cough!> You two are the only ones who average five posts a day! At the moment I see he's blazing away at 24 posts in the last 24 hours! A post an hour!! (BTW, a note to anyone curious: you can look up anyone's post-per day average in their profile. It's down on the left side.) I have no idea whom this cloven-hooved critter that you refer to could possibly be <nervously hides feet>. How could anyone possibly post more than you two?
  18. But Darkshadow, you are one of only two members (the other is Greame) to have an average of five posts a day, so I think that clearly means that you post a lot. Horns, and cloven-hooved feet? Hmmm, when i hear that description I can only think of something that has those and a pointy tail as well. Note the Emoticon. So, surely not I.
  19. Never let it be said that a Goat is not willing to admit when he is wrong! I had forgotten how fond you are of all those extra "u's" in your words. I'll eveun truy ann remembeur to add theum into woruds wheun I knouw youu will be reauding theum.
  20. Ahhh! Never let it be said that I am afraid to admit when I am wrong, for here, clearly, I am wrong! You did indeed call me "My favourite lurker..." and not "My favorite lurker...". Humbly, and with profound appologies, your favourite lurker, CJ
  21. Huh? Matthew, I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, that you would doubt me so! Why, I can easily prove that I am not in denial! I can point you to hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of my posts wherin I say, unequivicobly, that I never post! As for any refutation by me, I shall prove that I am a lurker by not replying to your post, which is why you are not actually seeing this. I shall not respond to these clearly unfounded accusations! I shall also quash the silly rumor that a new species of Goat has been discovered in the high mountains of Arizona, and has been classified as Goatus Internetus Blabbermouthus. If there was any such creature, I'm sure I'd have seen one, and I haven't. But Graeme, it IS in my proflile (the comment dated Nov 3rd) and you even refer to it above, so how can you possibly deny it? What? But CaptainRick, surely you can't blame me for all this? It's not as if I coined the phrase "postaholic", after all! Awww, Kurt! Not you too? I don't know what it is. Suddenly, one day, your post counter starts reading in the quadruple digits, and all of a sudden, out of the blue, people start rumors that you post a lot. It's all so very unfair... <sniff..> AhHA! Denial! I can smell it a mile away!
  22. But Krista, I am not a postaholic! You can't be a lurker and a postaholic at the same time, after all! I'm far from sure that simplicity would accomplish what we seek. After all, there is a reason that legal documents are written in exhausting detail; to avoid confusion and misdirection. Simplicity, in this case, might also inadvertantly miss-classify someone... Definitions are such tricky things, so for the sake of accuracy I must argue in favor of my more detailed definition. Besides, if my own precious reputation as a lurker might be in danger, in invite everyone to take a peek in my profile: Now take a look at the comment by Graeme on Nov 3rd: It says "My favorite Lurker...".
  23. Still no match, as no one at GA currently has a post total of exactly 2,366 Well, of course I'm a lurker! Everyone knows tht I almost never post... Of course, I did just log into the lounge, and while lurking , what did I see? Why, the top five threads, all with Graeme as the most recent poster! I think my date of membership might be a tad off. I think one post a month would qualify as a lurker? So, that means that I joined this website on February 15th, 1809. Or, we could define a postaholic as anyone who has three, four, five, or six posts a day (no one has six or seven, though Graeme will reach 6 any day now ). But Graeme, this is for postaholics NON-anonymous! Nothing wrong with being a postaholic, its a good thing! So, embrace your postaholic nature! Celebrate it! Ill even proclaim if for you!
  24. Hi Krista! I edited my postaholics list to add you (I knew there were a lot of people I was forgetting to add!). As for your riddle, hmmmm, I'm sorry, but I have no idea whom you could possibly mean? Nobody at GA presently has a post total of exactly 2,365.
  25. <de-lurks> Well, I'm definitly not eligible myself , but can we nominate people? I can think of quite a few... In no particular order... Jack Frost (although I think he prefers to call himself a postwhore ) Graeme AFriendlyFace Dark Shadow shdowgod Kurt Emoe Matthew Captain Rick NickolasJames8 James Savik Birdsofafeather Krista Lugh Hmmm, I know I missed a bunch! I'll have to get back to your with more nominations! <goes back to lurking > Hi Andy!! Glad to see you posting some more! It can be a lot of fun... Well, so they tell me anyway.
