  1. I like tattoos. Body art is the ultimate in personal expression. I have a few tattoos. This is my most recent one. No, not going to say where it is.
  2. So Sam wants to know a couple of very important things: "Is Scott still going to Niagara Falls with us this weekend? "Is Scott still taking me night fishing for my birthday?" You see, THAT is one of the big problems with having a relationship (or trying to have one) when you have a kid. Your kid gets attached, too. I don
  3. When is humor
  4. Jack Benny was much earlier than either of those shows. He became famous for his radio show and continued on with The Jack Benny Show, which ran in the late 50's and earlyl 60's. His humor was somewhat dry most of the time. His show was a variety type show that featured all the stars of the day, often including Bob Hope. I believe it was done live. Some of the episodes I have seen were hilarious, even allowing for the difference in time. So yeah, black and white and before our time. But a classic worth watching if you get a chance.
  5. PLEASE tell me that you really do know who Jack Benny was. Vic, even I know who he was. Haven't you ever watched old tv shows? *shakes head in wonder* I can't say that I've ever had Crab Rangoons that actually tasted of...crab. Sounds like you had a good birthday. Hope you have many more, even if you will only acknowledge up to 39
  6. I'd show up at his door wearing just that tool belt we spoke of, but he'd probably scream and slam the door in my face.
  7. Happy Birthday, Vic!
  8. I most definitely believe in ghosts. I believe they are the spirits or energy of a being that is left behind when the body dies and I do believe they can interact with the living when they want or need to. I have a story that supports this. And don't laugh--because I know some of you will--it involves a cat. I had two kittens, Mike and Tom, and both of them had Feline Leukemia, which at the time was always fatal. Tom started showing signs of the disease first. He and I were very close. He was MY cat and would sleep with me and follow me around. Mike was my cat also, but Tom was special. When he started to get sick, I took him to the vets and discovered that he had Feline Leukemia. That meant his littermate had it also since it is extremely contagious. It affects the body much like AIDS. I had a choice. I could have him put down right then and there, or, as the vet said, I could
  9. I JUST discovered the "Gallery." I am not going to ask how long it has been there because then I would have to face the exact degree of my slowness. But now that I have found it... Been happily scanning pictures from various photo albums. There are SO many more, but I promise only to post the ones I really like. I am by no means a great photographer. But every once in a while my camera accidentally finds something that is beautiful (take enough pictures and that will happen by random chance--and believe me, I have taken ENOUGH pictures). I'll probably do my kitten pics next. Most of them were taken with a digital and are already on my computer. Then there is this HUGE box (I mean one of those big storage boxes that you pack a house in) filled with photo albums and photos that have never made it to albums... Pray I don't get to that box...
  10. Happy Birthday!
  11. Must have been one of those days
  12. Home is where the heart is or where the head is? I
  13. Was going through pics today and decided to be stupid. The pic I like best of myself is in my profile. I don't generally have many pics of me because I tend to be the one behind the camera. My son took this one of me and I am posting it here because stupidly enough, it is the ONE picture I have of me with any part of Mark visible. *laughs* That's his blonde hair in the corner. I will probably change my mind and edit this later. I tend to do that. And since I am feeling either brave or masochistic, the one next to it is same me, different photo, same photographer. Yeah, figured I'd edit them out. Consider your eyes saved. Ok, changed my mind again. I know the mustache is horrible, as I have been told and I suppose I should agree, but you know what? Mark liked it, which is why I had it. And f**K it, I'm never going to win a beauty contest anyway.
  14. First of all, the irony of ME attempting to say anything intelligent or useful on the subject of relationships is NOT lost on me. But you can learn as much from doing the wrong things as you can from doing the right things. Whenever two people merge their lives some compromise is necessary. It is in the little things, though, like bathroom schedules, meal preferences, entertainment preferences. If anything much larger is needed, then the question becomes whether you are truly compatible. As Graeme said; There are always reasons why people choose to remain in relationships that are unhealthy or where they have significant incompatibility issues. You don
  15. I have a headache. Just saying that up front. Looks are very important. If you look good, it is easier for you to make friends, get a job, get ahead. Can you look me (or anyone) in the eye and say that is not true? Maybe part of that is because if you think you look good, you have confidence in yourself
  16. I have been thinking. *laughs* Just warning you there. Thinking is not always a good thing for me to do. You meet someone, talk to him (or her
  17. Thanks, everyone. My day was pretty good. I really HATE my birthday, but I try to keep my head out of my ass as much as possible on that day. Sam got me wind chimes for my garden and also a gnome riding a turtle (also for my garden). Sam has acquired a fascination for gnomes (blame Travelocity). Scott got me a table and chairs for the deck, which is something I have been saying I wished we had. And he bought Chinese for dinner. So ao in all, a good day. And the Senators beat the Ducks Saturday. Thanks, again, for all your birthday wishes
  18. How sad is it that I now can't wait to go? I'm not even going to tell Sam about it. He would be driving me nuts every day between now and the day it opens. Guess I better start saving my money now.
  19. Current: Psych Monk Law and Order (SVU and Crominal Intent) Cold Case Files (the one that is 'real' not the drama) Dresden Files Ghost Hunters Of all time...this is where it gets hard because I am SUCH an old tv program addict. Star Trek Dick Van Dyke Show Kolchack, the Night Stalker (the original Twilight Zone Lost in Space) (this list could go on and on and on)
  20. I have an annoying habit of looking for reasons for just about everything. I like to reason things out, find the cause of the effect. However, I have some

    Going to miss the chat

Chats at least give you the option of just hanging around or actually talking. That's what I will miss. And there are people I enjoyed chatting with that I would not feel comfortable striking up a conversation with them on an individual basis. My tongue--or my fingers--would tie itself/themselves in a knot and then there is that whole 'fear of rejection thing.' You can always invite people into a chat on MSN. But then, if you are a person who is pathetically shy with a bucket full of issues, actually getting the nerve to do that is... *hyperventilates* difficult. I just know that everyone (with maybe one or two exceptions) would fall into the chat I created and just immediately leave or mutter a polite excuse and then leave. And if no one invites you into one of those chats, you can't just wander in to see what's going on. *scowls at some people* And you may well say "You should just ask if a chat is going on and if someone would invite you in." Except 1. if they wanted you in there, they would invite you, and 2. it feels very much like begging to tag along with a more popular friend. Yeah, I know...issues.
  22. By strict definition (according to dictionary.com) rich is: I think that is how most people would define
  23. You should make more. Hmm...have seen it bologna (as in the famous Oscar Mayer commercial) and baloney. Have never seen it balogne, but then, I have not seen everything. And it is one of "those" words. Like catsup--or ketchup. Really, I don't like "catsup" because it makes me question the connection to cats--which could only be unpleasant considering it is a red, sticky pasty thing...
