  1. We didn't have a library near us in one place we lived(we moved around a lot), but we had a Bookmobile, a bus that came by every Saturday, close enough to walk to. I used to take out the maximum three books in the morning, read them or at least one of them, and go back before five to get more. Eventually, they wouldn't allow it... saying I could only take out three in total ( if my memory is right, they changed librarians, and the new one was mean). Imagine not encouraging a kid to read. I still shake my head at that.
  2. Hey, Patrick! I've been fooled a couple of times, badly, but I've never lost faith. I found two great lids in my life, though circumstance intervened, but it's all good. Memories keep me warm at night.

    Chapter 8

I love houses! Great chapter, Albert... they are healthy and committed, so need for worry about safe sex. No big deal, but just be careful of repetition and jumps in the timeline. Cheers, buddy!
  4. Thank you, my friend. That's what I most need to hear. Reading was my most treasured pastime as a kid and it has never left me. The fact I am now someone who gives readers that pleasure constantly astounds me.
  5. Creating a story is (for me) a fascinating process. You can't rush the plot or your characters... they won't let you in my experience. So yeah, like life, there will be all kinds of things that cannot be predicted by the readers, and many avenues they will not see coming. Are they meant to be together? Ony time and circumstance will tell. Shifters live in a dangerous world. Cheers, buddy.
  6. @patrick1991 had lots of interesting theories, and was very engaged in this story. I miss those times.
  7. You're speaking to the choir, buddy. I admit to being a true romantic, and I certainly believe there is love at first sight and people we are meant to be with. There is a POWER to love that I HAVE to believe in. Tobyn and Kellar are building a bond, that connection that cements itself in trust. Thanks for this!
  8. Lol. Everything about Kellar is big. And yes, the malaise is real. Glad you liked this chapter. There is still such a long way to go, but I tried not to waste anyone's time. Each detail is important in a mystery. Cheers! G
  9. A warm coffee shop in Cape Town... sounds so nice, my friend. This was a very different story for me to write, and I never knew what to expect from readers. My choice of story name was questioned by a friend, and I understood it, but I'm a stubborn man, and I'm pleased it makes sense to you now. Kellar is a healer, so who knows how he might contribute to this race of people he has never felt a part of. Tobyn intrigued me too. I found him as stubborn as me, yet he was a constant surprise. Happy you are enjoying it so far, Doha. Cheers!
  10. Oh no! I hope the antiviral does its job.
  11. Hello, all you fine folk... and spikey.
  12. Hello, ll! @dughlas I hope you are feeling better.
  13. You know what he wants.
  14. Hello and welcome, AD! It's a great community for interaction. Good luck with your writing. Cheers! Gary
  15. We are under a heat warning until Monday. Supposed to feel like 40+ this afternoon.
  16. Sweet dreams, brother B.
  17. Hello, all, and Happy fourth of July to decent Americans everywhere.

    Chapter 7

Their talk makes me wonder why they weren't always together. Sometimes life just gets in the way I guess. People don't say what they really want to. I'm glad John is past the grieving process, or the worst of it. On another note, running on a full stomach is horrible, like puking horrible, and I can't imagine eating a meal right before, but I guess people are different. Thanks, for this, Albert! Cheers!
  19. I'm happy for you, Tink!
  20. Thanks, my friend! It's what I hope for to, but something is holding me back. There is a story I am almost finished, and something is keeping me from it too. This was probably the best experience of my rather short writing life, maybe because of the challenge of a mystery, and a shifter story to boot. It also could be because of the great interactions with readers. Seeing their passion, which matched mine, was incredibly satisfying. Here's one throw away line in this chapter that shows just how Kellar's life has changed... “What… are you some kind of special seer now, like my grandmother was?” ... just the fact he can mention his grandmother, and know who she was(and the history of his family), is pretty damn special for the once orphan Kellar. I was always waiting for someone to mention this line, but no one did, so here I am doing it. I so appreciate you rereading and sharing your thoughts, Doc. Any time I am brought back to this one is a great thing. Cheers!
  21. I believe we are seeing just how resilient Kellar has had to be his whole young life. But for sure, the wolf has changed him, or strengthened what was already there. I'm pleased you see his self control when it came to Warren. The wolf is not in control, Kellar is. And yes, like you, I enjoyed Warren pissed himself. Thank you, my friend!
