  1. Hey Cody! Sorry for your rainy weekend and drowned plans. About the sex, lots of stories on GA, good and popular ones, do not have tons of sex, or graphic sex. You might find more 'gratuitous' sex on Nifty, but not even necessarily there either. Write the story which wants to flow from your pen. That's the only story you should write. I'm new to writing, which should be pretty obvious, but that is the one thing I know. btw -- everyone is supportive here on GA!
  2. It is hard to fight an enemy who has outposts in your head. -Sally Kempton *** Tommy came in to wake me up, but I was already awake. I told him I wouldn’t need him for a shower or shaving anymore, but thanked him for his heroic efforts to make my life a little easier these last weeks. I texted Mike, figuring he’d probably get a chance to answer me sometime today. I only told him Alex and I would be in Syracuse on Saturday to shop and that it would be nice to meet him at that same ma
  3. It seems Clayton was indeed very attuned to Ryan. It's why he was so worried all along. Ryan needs a little time to cool down, but it actually showed how well Clayton knew his lover. Bring us happiness in chapter 20, Rex!

    Breathe deep

Very evocative, dugh! I like it.
  5. Gary, I've been back to this pair several times since you posted it. Once again, you seem to paint two sides of a coin, with pain. I've tried to compose a comment, but I can't. I don't know why. Just realize these are deeply moving, and I thank you for that.
  6. Thank you jess! Aw ...your poor mind if it is invaded by characters from Skinnyland! Dr. Dragon prescribes a glass of Valium and two drops of water -- or did he get that mixed up? Everything in your first paragraph is true (well, almost) so stay tuned. And he WAS blowing off Sam. Blowing Sam will not have been a wise decision Your questions about Burch may never get answered now that the principals were all drowned.
  7. Thank You Def! Beautiful comments. I agree it's not healthy for David to suppress yet another major factor of his life. As for Dr. Keating, do you think David will go see him? I think spikey was right in his "lip service" comment. Let's squeeze for bold action from Sam!! Yep! Alex is rocketing into David's 'friend zone.'
  8. Thank you sparkey for your always unvarnished comments! I'm pretty sure you're right that this little breakdown was not THE moment we've been awaiting. But the longer it is postponed, the more dangerous it may be. I think we can forget worrying about Alex's negatives now. Don't you agree? Maybe it's time for her to turn into an ally.
  9. Thank you CG for your comments! I agree with you. David hasn't yet cracked the code to reveal the message the dreams are trying to send. And yes, his head is still buried firmly in the sand, although it is inflicting him with considerable pain.
  10. Thank You Parker! David's subconscious is certainly rumbling. I guess all we're left to wonder about is whether the magma will bubble out or blow the whole volcano to bits.
  11. Thank you Hunter! You make a very good point about the negative elements having been taken away. Perhaps it is why his mind chose this moment to have its first short circuit?
  12. Thanks so much geoff! Maybe seeing Twoey with someone else has triggered his long suppressed yearning. Whatever, he can't seem to keep his feelings bottled up anymore.
  13. Thank You lux! Yes, where else would David rather be than with Sam when this hit. Let's hope Sam can make a difference.
  14. In the story '18 Weeks,' the falling-apart protagonist, David, tormented by suppressed memories of sexual abuse and suppressed desire for Twoey, stands at his window before the breathtaking view of an ice storm. His girlfriend holds him while he wishes it were Twoey. He is on the verge of ending his denial and composes this little doggerel. I decided to include it here because there is so little poetry in Skinnyland. Also, not everyone reads '18 Weeks.' in the glittery glare of th

    We're Alive

Wow Carlos! What a year! Perfect ending for it too. CJ with lots to look forward to and a growing maturity. You wrote a compelling story in these four quarters, it made a hell of a buck! Thanks for sharing it with us!
  16. Nice lux! I have to admit, this isn't the way I saw the evening ending as the chapter began, especially in light of the previous chapter's ominous clouds. So we'll have to wait and watch. Don't make us wait too long! Thanks for sharing this chapter and making me hungry.
  17. ... NEC HOSTIS INIVRIAM MIHI INTVLIT, CVI IN TOTO NON REDDIDI no enemy ever wronged me, whom I have not repaid in full - LVCIVS CORNELIVS SVLLA *** I woke up to the realization my casts finally were to come OFF today! I’d be back in school tomorrow! After Tommy showered me and helped me shave – for the LAST time – I went downstairs to breakfast. Before he left for work, my father told me he’d be back in time to drive me to my 10:30 appointment. When the gang stopped b

    Late March

Thanks spikey! I think the only connection we've been aware of between Niles and the Dennys was the fact he hung around in high school with Toph's sister and also went to college with her. Maybe that's enough, maybe not. About Charles, I guess we need to wait and see. Would he permit his mother to use him against Toph? Let's pray not. He is older and hopefully wiser. About Gary. I guess Gary will need to prove himself. We're all watching.

    Solitary Cat

Solitary Cat an arresting confession from a feline carnivore or a tergiversation on my human behavior Balance What an interesting prayer. In order to pass it forward I need to provoke aggression Ah, the new dragon’s credo!
  20. Thank you Def! Also thanks for commenting on the title. I really sweated over it and changed that sucker at least 10 times! I think it's all pretty transparent by now (Mr. Dragon isn't so clever). The only thing to worry about is how will Alex react? Hopefully not in her dark mode, which could be pretty scary.
  21. Congratulations Albert! Your stories are great.
  22. Thank you so much, Michael!! Simply your continue support is all the encouragement I need. Thank You again!
  23. Thanks Lisa! As you'll discover, cheating is the nicest thing we can say about Cal. Keep that thought you expressed in the second paragraph of your comments. As for Erik, maybe he doesn't trust Twoey to be out of his sight (read: grasp) at all! Will Twoey ever realize all this attentive posturing could be control?
  24. Thanks Lisa! Unfortunately (for us) the dreams will continue and become clearer. I'm glad you think Randy is interesting. He will become more important to David.
  25. Thanks Lisa! You're right, David needs another helper. And he'll get one (keep catching up) but you'll never guess who it will be. Yep, Alex is smart. Once all this emotion has passed, her rational side will return. It probably wasn't good they had this little vacation when that gush of love hit her, otherwise she wouldn't have had so much free time. Things will settle down, I think!
